  We found this condo by serching the internet. I believe it was Devine intervention.We didn't know anything about Maui. I won the opportunity to go from my employer. It was a random drawing. It turned into a girl's trip so to speak (all of us being 50 plus years.) My best friend and I stayed in Don and Terry's condo. Being wives and mothers we know how to stock a kitchen, we found nothing lacking! Also being beach lovers we found everthing we needed for lounging on the beach and for swimming. There was much more than we expected.We found resturants close enough to walk to. The five star resorts a very short drive for shopping and lunching, and a great Luau a short drive away. We were grateful for all the information in Don and Terry's condo, and how easily accessible it was. My 18 year old son could not"BELIEVE" I actually left him behind in South Carolina.LOL I'm hoping to save enough to bring him with me as a Graduation Gift. God has been most gracious with his beauty on Maui, so much so that I was looking at nursing jobs so I could stay! LOL Mahalo, Mahalo, Mahalo!

  Just returned from an amazing week in Kihei. This condo was perfect for our family. We have 2 children & this unit was very family friendly. Lots of room. Amazing views. It is stocked to include everything you could think of!! We would definitely stay here again.

  We stayed in Kihei to attend our son's wedding. We selected Haleaka Shores, unit A402, because of its ocean views. We found the unit to be very clean, well equipped and nicely decorated. The only down side was the noisy lanai. However, this is inherent will most Kihei ocean view condos, which are across the street from the beach and subject to road and park mainetnance noise. We anticipated this. We normally stay in West Maui at an ocean front condo unit where the only noise is the lulling of ocean waves Having said this, unit A402 and Haleaka Shores is our first choice if we visit Kihei again.

  This was our first trip to Maui and we didn't have any idea where we should stay. After trying to book through an agency and reading some less than flattering reviews, we looked into booking accommodations directly from the owner and found wonderful reviews for Haleakala Shores A402 in South Kihei. VRBO#139 The “ocean views from every room” was what first attracted us, but we found everything about this condo was perfect. The location was convenient, whether we to walk to the Kamaole beaches across the street or Keawakapu beach up a ways. We were close to great restaurants and shops (Fred's was my favorite). The pool was just so nice and cozy, prefect for an evening swim & BBQ. We always looked forward to having breakfast on the lanai while watching the surf and enjoying the morning sunshine. The condo was very clean and comfortable, nicely furnished with a fully equipped kitchen and ice maker fridge, A/C, washer & dryer comfortable island style furniture, cozy king bed in master bedroom. Everything we needed for the beach was provided in the closet; chairs, cooler, towels, and umbrella Dealing with the owners Don & Terry was a pleasure. The ease in making our reservation, communications regarding any questions or concerns, and the friendliness of the owners all made us feel completely welcome in their condo and we really enjoyed are stay. We cannot wait to go back!

  My stay at A 402 Beautiful, is the best way to describe my stay at this incredibly spacious condo. Walking into a place that immediately feels like home is rare and very welcoming. It's easy to see all the love and care that went into making the condo a home away from home for any and all guests. I was wowed by the entire experience and recommend this place to anyone who wants to escape reality and relax. The condo is so nicely located , close to everything. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the lanai, evening walks to local fine dining, and ideal beach time. This is the type of place that requires only you and your swimsuit as everything is provided. Thank you Don and Terry for your part in making this hands-down the best vacation I've experienced. I can't wait to visit again. Mahalo! Kimberly Williams

  My wife and I have normally spend 1-2 weeks each year in Hawaii, mostly in Maui. This condo was the best appointed, most comfortable, and best location we've ever had. It is on S.Kihei Rd. and during the day there is some road noise that abates by late evening. Having air conditioning (one bedroom, one living room) is a big plus since we stayed in late August of 2012 When temps were in the mid 80s with high humidity - ok, we're from Phoenix, so all humidity is high. Breakfast on the lanai with Kam III across the street was special, and sunset from the condo or the beach - no ka oi. I really appreciated the king bed which did not break my back. This place will spoil you! However, if you don't rent it ,there are more open weeks for us.

  We had a very pleasant stay at this unit, courtesy of owners who care about the little things. The unit was neat, clean, well-appointed and well-stocked with both the essentials and the niceties. That means that there were plenty of clean kitchen towels, new sponges, dish and laundry soap and small soaps and shampoos in the showers. There were lots of clean beach towels in the closet and toys and beach accessories in the beach closet. There were lots of labels indicating where things were and how to use them. The furniture and bedding were in good shape, and we were happy with all the unit's and building's amenities, including the pool. What you should know about this unit is that one bedroom is a fully enclosed room with en suite bath, the other bedroom is really part of the living room that can be divided into its own room with sliding screens, and is not completely private. What you should also consider with this unit is that the windows face South Kihei Rd. That means a great beach view--and also considerable street noise. It also means that you'll have to listen to whatever music is being played at whatever party is going on at Kam III ALL DAY Saturday. Or it means you can catch the sunset from the balcony and use the new bus line to get around town. We would gladly stay again another time. Thanks!

  This is the fourth time we have stayed at this condo and we just keep coming back. The condo is very well setup with everything you need from beach gear to kitchen appliances. Just a stop at Costco and Safeway and you are ready to go! The owners are wonderful to deal with and the condo is very well maintained. This is not a huge complex so the pool is not crowded which is nice. The South Kihei location is great, a nice walk down to Whalers, Ice cream and Fred's mexican restaurant. Kamaole Beach is right across the street with great boogie boarding and snorkeling. The sunsets are just beautiful to watch every night. Would recommend this condo to anyone.

  If you're looking for the perfect place to base your affordable Maui family vacation around, Don's penthouse condo, unit A402 at Haleakala Shores is for you. We stayed there with our two grown children for 12 nights from May 16th - 28th. It turned out to be everything we were looking for and more. The condo is a spacious, well kept, 2 bedroom 2 bath setup that was perfect for us. Everyone loved it, especially the sunsets from the Lanai and unlike other Hawaii condos I've rented, this was more like staying at your own place than a typical rental. It 's a huge unit with vaulted ceilings and a well-designed floor plan that allowed plenty of room to spread out. From the moment we walked in we knew it was going to be “just right”. Coffee, chocolates and flowers were set out to greet us and we quickly learned that Don provides everything needed for a great time including every appliance you can think of, multiple sets of dishes, glasses and tableware and more than enough towels for everyone. Plenty of beach gear and 2 coolers to use for your daily trips around the island were found in the closets. There was Wi-Fi internet and although we didn't use them the unit has every electronic device you could possibly want. The location at the south end of Kihei works well. Stores, restaurants and some night life are all nearby to Haleakala Shores, much within walking distance. There are many fantastic beaches in the South Maui area and it was easy to drive to them all. Being directly across the street from the Kamaole 3 beach was very convenient. Other trips to scheduled activities and drives around the island worked very well from this location. my opinion, if you're looking for the self-contained fancy resort experience then perhaps Wailea or Kaannapali might better for you. However if you're like us, simply searching for a great condo for a family vacation, one that is centrally located, one that is right at the beach, and most important, one that will leave enough cash leftover for the activities you came to Hawaii for, you can't do better than this. I know we will definitely be coming back.

  What a lovely place. Perfect for a comfortable, clean, Hawaiian-style vacation - you couldn't ask for more! Loved the view from the lanai, the 2 x air-con units, the 2 separate bedrooms each with their own bathroom, the washer-dryer and huge fridge! The beach chairs/snorkelling equipment was very useful too. Would definitely come back another time, maybe for whale season next time! Communication/ booking easy to do; everything just as described. Perfect! Thanks very much Don!
