Wonderful Hawaiian-style condo; amazing vacation in Maui!

What a lovely place. Perfect for a comfortable, clean, Hawaiian-style vacation - you couldn't ask for more! Loved the view from the lanai, the 2 x air-con units, the 2 separate bedrooms each with their own bathroom, the washer-dryer and huge fridge! The beach chairs/snorkelling equipment was very useful too. Would definitely come back another time, maybe for whale season next time! Communication/ booking easy to do; everything just as described. This place was amazing! From our first step in we felt like honored guests! Everything was well maintained with all the comforts of home. Thoroughly enjoyed a cup of Kona coffee on the balcony each morning looking out to the ocean. The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of places to relax. The girls enjoyed their private bedroom at night which opened up during the day. The kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed and then some. The description and photos of the condo were helpful in picking this place, and when we arrived the condo was even better than we had imagined. The pool was refreshing, perfect temperture and not very crowded. The walk across the street led up to a nice beach and it was great to have the beach chairs to take. There were also many other beaches not too far away. We drove up to Lahaina several days. The girls went parasailing and will remember that always. We enjoyed the Prime Rib and Fish Company for lunch/dinner twice. There were also some restaurants close by with earlybird specials. We hope to return to this condo someday and will definitely recommend it to friends and family! Mahalo for such a wonderful vacation!!

My wife and I spent a week in this unit and were very pleased with the accommodations. We wanted a condo in the front facing the ocean & happily Don & Terry's Condo was even better then advertised , all the features were top notch right down to the electric grill and the dishes. These owners were very friendly and easy to work with, they gave us many really good recommendations. They obviously take a lot of pride in their place, it shows from the moment you enter . We highly recommend this unit and complex and would stay there again without hesitation. The pool and BBQ area were just what we wanted to top off a day at the beach , We will miss the beautiful sunsets and the short walks to the three great beaches, but not for long we are already starting to planning to come back next year.

Haleakala Shores A402

We stayed at this unit for 10 days. The description was very accurate. The view from each room was ideal. We saw the sun set each day and had a lovely view of the ocean. The unit was impeccable in its cleanliness and amenities. We found everything we needed in the kitchen and in fact had most of our meals in the unit. The unit was centrally located, for our needs. It is an easy walk into town for ice cream or a meal. The owner is friendly, professional and knowledgeable. He was also very helpful with directions to the unit and in locating activities. Highly recommended.

"Even Better" then we expected

Our friends have stayed at Don & Terry's condo a number of times and have always told us how much they liked it. Our anticipation was very high and we were thoroughly pleased. The condo is spacious and beautifully appointed. Everything we wanted was there plus some extras like a rice cooker and juicer. It's truly felt like home as soon as we arrived. The views are spectacular and all the furniture has a lovely island feel. My personal favorite was morning coffee on the lanai. This was the most relaxing time we've had it years I only wish we stayed longer. We plan to return soon Thanks Don & Terry

This was our first time to Maui and it won't be our last! Your unit (#A402) was perfect!! The view is fantastic and the location is superb!! We loved being able to sit on the lanai and look out to the park and the ocean across the street! What more could you ask for than to have a beach right across the street!! The pool at the complex was very clean and quiet for those times we didn't feel like getting "sandy"! The location is close to shopping and restaurants. It had everything we needed and was very spacious and clean. We look forward to coming back!! Thank you for giving us such a wonderful experience!

We just returned from our first stay at Haleakala Shores in unit A402. From start to finish it was a great experience. Clean, neat, nicely appointed, even a welcome basket with fresh flowers, coffee, cookies and bath gift set. The unit very comfortably accommodated the three of us. Loved the extremely comfortable king size bed, and that both bathrooms had double sinks and plenty of closet space. The second bedroom set up allowed for a great room during the day but was privatized at night by the sliding shoji screens. The washer and dryer let us pack lightly knowing we could wash clothes whenever needed without leaving the unit. One important criteria in selecting A402 was the well-stocked kitchen. We've rented other places around the world and none have ever had such a wonderful kitchen set up, even including a rice cooker. Local grocery stores provided everything we needed, including the health food store with a nice selection of items. We can't wait until the new Whole Foods opens spring 2010 in Kahalui. The location just across the street from Kamaole III beach was perfect. Within minutes we were enjoying the sand and surf. The pool in the complex was clean and neat and rarely had more than 4 people there. Tennis courts are also availabie. And great golf courses are only 10-15 minutes away in Wailea and Makena. Yes, we will definitely return to unit A402 for our next Maui vacation.

My wife and I stayed in this condo for two weeks and it felt like home every day we were there. Its location is fantastic, you're within walking distance to all of the shops in South Kihei, and a stone's throw from an amazing beach (Kam 3). You're a short drive from Wailea (5 minutes) and are in a central location to enjoy all that Maui has to offer. This deluxe, penthouse condo is very spacious, has an amazing view of the ocean and beach, and is furnished with new comfortable furniture. The owners do a fantastic job of contacting you with all of the information you need. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could possibly need and breakfast/dinner on the lanai over looking the water was a favorite part of each day. The beds were extremely comfortable and extra pillows/bedding were available. This condo provides everything you need from beach towels, beach mats, lawn chairs, umbrella, and is spotlessly clean when you check in. The condo also has a pool, cable TV, air conditioning and internet access. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel at home in this vacation rental, and even welcomed us with a gift basket. I have recommended this condo to all of my friends and family and whole heartedly recommend it to you as well. We have traveled to Maui several times and this was by far our best trip. We are regular travelers to the Valley Isle and will stay at this condo for all our future trips. Our stay at this condo was simply perfect.

The condo was all that it said and more. The location was the best, close to many resturants and shops, and right across the sreet from a fabulous beach where we were greeted by a family of whales about 100 yds offshore. The attention to details like the gift of coffee and chocolates was unexpected and appreciated. This condo had everything we could have possibly needed. There were chairs, umbrellas, boogy boards, and coolers. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook whatever your heart desired. There were guide books to help with exploring the island and there were tons of books incase you finished the one you brought. The best part was the ocean view from every window. We loved coming in from sightseeing and having pina coladas on the lanai as we watched the sun set. It was a amazing vacation and I would recommend the condo to anyone.

8 out the last 10 years we've vacationed on Maui, always renting condos. We found this beautiful place last year and returned again this year. Everything was as good as it was the first time. Great location. Wonderful view. Clean and supplied with everything you'd want for a fun time. The owners are great to deal with and care that you will, and have, enjoyed yourself. We heartily recommend this unit, though not on the dates we want to rent it for - lol!

Definitely should consider this condo for a wonderful trip fully furnished and well furnished. Owner has thought out all needs including providing beach towels, chairs, mats, etc. Price is right as well We had a family of four and it was perfect right across from beach and park that has excellent snorkling and swimming and lifeguards close to shopping for walking and very close to Wailea and makena for excellent golf and beaches and cuisine and shopping as well We have been to south kihei 9 prior times in condos and this is best one to date and will return without hesitation. Street noise may affect some, but by far listening to waves is what dominates and access and locale cannot be beaten Building occupants were quiet and overall experience is excellent written by Michael Schoenfeld

Owner called to make sure we were well taken care of. It was nice to know he lives nearby, if we had a question. The pool and gas grills were well maintained. We found this condo by serching the internet. I believe it was Devine intervention.We didn't know anything about Maui. I won the opportunity to go from my employer. It was a random drawing. It turned into a girl's trip so to speak (all of us being 50 plus years.) My best friend and I stayed in Don and Terry's condo. Being wives and mothers we know how to stock a kitchen, we found nothing lacking! Also being beach lovers we found everthing we needed for lounging on the beach and for swimming. There was much more than we expected.We found resturants close enough to walk to. The five star resorts a very short drive for shopping and lunching, and a great Luau a short drive away. We were grateful for all the information in Don and Terry's condo, and how easily accessible it was. My 18 year old son could not"BELIEVE" I actually left him behind in South Carolina.LOL I'm hoping to save enough to bring him with me as a Graduation Gift. God has been most gracious with his beauty on Maui, so much so that I was looking at nursing jobs so I could stay! LOL Mahalo, Mahalo, Mahalo!

"A402- Exactly what we wanted" TerryZ, Chicago Oct 21, 2007 We just came back from a great trip. This ocean front condo is across the street from Kamo III. It is a huge unit (appx 1200 sq ft) and feels even bigger with the vaulted ceilings. Fully appointed with housewares and beach wares. We toured an open house unit elsewhere in the complex just for fun--no comparison. What Don and Terry have done to this updated unit has made A402 far superior. I would absolutel recommend this Condo to my best friend? We hope to stay here on our next Maui visit.

"UnitA #402 - Location, location - Location!" annabelle38, Sep 5, 2007 This was our (my son and I) second year staying in Unit A #402 - it's awesome. I've stayed at this complex before and knew the units were very spacious, but the difference with this unit is the quality of everything "in" the unit. The beds are great, the linens lovely, the furnishings are just top notch. My son especially loves the BIG tv and various remotes. It's especially nice because when you get a until on the top floor you have vaulted ceilings - it feels airy and spacious, not like your in a shoe box. There are two, double sinked bathrooms off of each bedroom area at opposite ends of the condo. The kitchen, dining and living room sit in the middle. You can see the ocean just across the street and watch the sunset from the lanai. I booked the unit with the owner through a web site called [--]. Let me just say, this place feels like my home away from home. We don't buy anything until we see what's in the closet as far as beach mats, chairs, unbrella's and such. This year we left a boogie board for the next guests to enjoy. You never know what you'll find. There are lots of linens, towels, pots pans, blender, coffee maker, microwave, toaster (a fully stocked kitchen) - oh and I have to mention the washer and dryer right in the kitchen area so it's nice and convenient. The location of the complex is very central - and makes it easy to head to Lahina, or over towards the airport /costco or to the beaches near by. It's by far the biggest condo, in the most central location at a reasonable price. The beach is right across the street and great restaurants close by within walking distance. There is also a pool at the complex, where you can grill if you like on the gas barbeques. Contact the owner through that web site - he's really helpful.

I have to highly recommend Haleakala Shores Condo - Unit A402 we found on VRBO (VRBO #139). My wife and I have been to Maui 7 of the last 8 years and Kauai the other. We have always stayed in Condos or Timeshare rentals and this unit was by far the best, and we will be going back next year. It has a great location close to shopping and restaurants, a great little beach opposite, and is located at the Wailea end of Kihei. The condo had everything we needed and more. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Having our own indoor laundry meant we could pack lightly. Beach chairs, towels, and a few items for the beach were provided. The pool was great for our 2 year old and was rarely occuppied by other residents. Everyone we met was extremely friendly and helpful. Oh by the way, the sun sets directly opposite, and a Maui sunset is hard to beat. Once again highly recommended. Richard, Maryjane, and Sage

This Condo is beautifully updated & clean 2 bdrm 2 bath (both showers-no tub) oceanview suite (with 2 AC Boxes) at Haleakala Shores with oceanviews from the Lanai & Master, and from the Living rm & 2nd Bdrm windows! This is definitely THE nicest unit at Haleakala - top floor, front corner of 1st building....you can see the surf from your Lanai! Vaulted ceilings & ceiling fans EVERYWHERE in Bathrooms were huge! Both the AC units did a great job of keeping the whole place very comfortable, the only rooms that would get a little warm were the bathrooms. The condo had everything you could need for a home away from home. Great having an in-suite washer/dryer, used it every day for towels and stuff. A ton of beach & pool ammenities were stocked, didn't have to buy anything for our family of 4! Modern entertainment system, gourmet kitchen & amenities, comfy oversized sectional sofa, cushioned bamboo furniture, great deck furniture......I could go on and on! Pool was very nice & clean, gorgeous Plumeria trees around it, as well as other beautiful flowers & palms. It was surprisingly tranquil for being located in the middle of the buildings, very peaceful! Lots of loungers, tables, BBQ areas, even an outdoor sheltered living room was set up with a few vending machines. The condo building is directly across from Kam 3 beach, a beautiful beach! No wonder the pool area is so quiet! We also walked to a few different Kihei restaurants from the condo a short distance away. From the covered parking up to our condo unit it was a bit old & grungy looking....enough to make you concerned about what exactly you've got yourself into....until you open the door, and the view & bamboo vaulted ceilings are great! It feels like a home! I guess what I'm saying is, MAKE SURE you get an updated condo in this building, or you could be really disappointed! Bottom line, I would absolutely stay here in this particular unit in this area of Maui again!

This vacation was to celebrate our parents' 60th anniversary and this was the perfect Condo!-everyone was delighted. We wanted a building with elevators, easy access to a beach with excellent snorkeling (just across the road) and spacious enough that less active guests would not feel cramped and confined. The condo is beautifully decorated and very thoughtfully equipped. We saved time, effort and a small fortune by shopping at the Costco near the airport and cooking most of our meals. The kitchen has everything a cook could want and so many good quality dishes, glasses and cutlery that we could serve 3 meals to 4 people and still need to use the dishwasher only once a day. The lanai is big and we loved eating and whalewatching from there as well as enjoying the magnificent sunsets. Building also has a first rate swimming pool and recreation area. Don & Terry's lovely condo was a wonderful find and we hope to return soon.

LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! this was the BEST unit. wonderful ocean views from every window (I saw whales with my binoculars almost every day), gorgeous condo, with everything you could possibly need. the high bamboo ceilings, the pretty decor, incredible kitchen, bathrooms, bedroom. This is technically a two bedroom with two full baths. However, you can leave the sliding doors open, as I did and it becomes a HUGE living/dining room (total is almost 1200 square feet). or you can close them and it becomes two bedrooms, each with its own full bath. the master bedroom has a wonderful King sized bed, incredibly comfortable, and a full bath off it. All linens are top of the line. The furnishings are top scale, island style, and the lanai opens off both the master bedroom and the living room. There is a large new tv, nice stereo, and lots of books. This unit is updated as needed, with everything spotlessly clean, new and in great working order. It was breathtaking from the moment I stepped in and the loveliness of this place just made my whole vacation! I can't say enough good about this wonderful place to stay in Kihei. The location, right across from Kamehameha 3 beach was perfect! Everything you could need for the beach was there. umbrella, chairs, towels, mats, cooler, etc. The owner supplied a lot of great info, and checked on me while I was there to ensure I had all I needed. Everything was just as advertised and perfect! Incredible kitchen with all the right appliances, utensils, cookery, you name it and it was there and perfect! The guest book has many entries of those that have come back year after year. I will be one of those returning to this piece of paradise. Wonderful in every way. thanks so much to the owners, I had a great time and will see you next year!
