Lakefront Vacation Cabin Rental, a Fishing & Boating Paradise
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Hiawassee
On our first Appalachian vacation many years ago we found the getaway we (then as Mid-Westerners) had always dreamt of: mountains, lakes, temperate weather, sweeping views, and welcoming all-American neighbors. This lake house has all of these and everything else we love about North Carolina living. It gives us a way to share with our family and with guests from all over America what we love about our chosen home. It is our family’s pride to pass on this experience on to you.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage
Unparalled relaxation, and one of the best docks on Lake Chatuge. Championship level fishing, almost 200 feet of private lakeshore / beach. Amazing mountain vistas and sunset views from the elevated private lakeside firepit and covered porch. Really fast wifi! This lake gave us the best of what the area had to offer: full access to a world class fishing lake with the privacy and tranquility of being in a cove. Great views of the mountains framed by trees. Family owned and operated with pride.
Owner's Map of Hiawassee
Hi, we are Joe and Lin. Until ten years ago, we lived in Iowa dreaming of a southerly retreat during the long Mid-Western winters. We dreamt of a place that would offer us a climate we could actively enjoy year round, that our grown children would love to visit, yet also a place that would create great memories for our very young grandchildren. For us that means hiking, fishing, lakes, more fishing, relaxing views, community festivals and plenty to do outdoors – like fishing! Murphy, North Carolina is now our adopted home and we are pleased to say, our kids and grandkids all love it here!

Thank you so much for sharing your cabin wth us. The view was awesome, the privacy was appreciated and the location..perfect. We spent most of our days boating on this beautiful lake and your dock was great. We also took some time to mountain bike at Jackrabbitt State Patk. We highly recommendit as there are nice trails in there. We went whitewater rafting too at the NOC. That was a high point for all of us, especially our 7 year old. The cabin was perfect: secluded & tucked away. The firepit got good use as did your foosball table. Thanks for helping us make this one of our best (relaxing) vacations. Hope to see you next year!

My husband and I have stayed in many different cabins in the North Georgia/Western North Carolina area, some very nice, some less than nice. I would definitely rate this cabin among the very top in regard to a luxurious, self-indulgent experience. While it is beautifully decorated, it is also family friendly, its surroundings making you feel like you can sit back and feel comfortable instead of afraid that you may tousle something. The view of the lake is breathtaking, and while you are peacefully located in the pristine, country atmosphere, there are distant, quiet houses around the lake that make you feel safe and not isolated in unfamiliar territory. In other words, you won't have any type of "Deliverance" fears in this cabin. The only negative experience that I had was that I could never master the dartboard game in the basement; my husband beat me at the game so repeatedly that I did not even feel up to trying the foozeball table though I am sure any guest's children or grownup would love it. About ten minutes nearby, in case of a rainy day, there is a lovely place on a hill named Funland that shows family-friendly movies and also houses an arcade for the youngsters. Also, try the Scarlet O' Hara-themed Daniel's Steakhouse nearby in Hiawassee; it is a delightful treat and offers a very reasonably-priced buffet. As you can tell, we hope to return to this cabin soon. My husband picked a good one this time for our anniversary, even if he did beat me at darts!

I throughly enjoyed Hidden Cove Cabin. The cabin is utilized very well and clean and confortable. I especially loved the porches and outdoor spaces. The boat dock was great and my family enjoyed spending alot of time on the dock fishing and swimming. I enjoyed quiet mornings on the dock while watching the ducks and geese wake up. I definately recommend Hidden Cove Cabin for an enjoyable weekend or family vacation.

I loved this place. I went alone to get away and relax. The views are great and it is very quiet. Nice covered dock - helped me in the rain one day. They have everything you might need. The dish TV is a great plus. The final touch, which actually happened when I arrived, was milk, bread, fruit, and cereal for the next morning with a note from the owners. Don't know if they do that all the time, but it was a very nice touch.
