  location,location,location !!!! ON THE BEACH,WATERFRONT, visited in june 09 for diving and fishing celebrating my son's college graduation. no suprises here, everything was as advertised and more. all the comforts of home. i have been diving cozumel for 30 yrs and it is one of the best all around dive trips for value and convenience. we have six of us in our group three couples and had plenty of room. early into the trip we had a fishing charter and took back to the villa approx 40 lbs of mahi mahi and tuna. after diving daily we had great lunches of mahi tacos. in the evenings we grilled mahi & tuna steaks on the 2nd floor terrace's gas grill and watched the fantastic sunsets from the west exposure. villa debra's owner deb is a gracious hostess and gave us good referrals for services. we are looking forward to returning and diving with my friend luis perez at caballito del caribe divers. he also owns the lobster cruise boat which is highly recommended good food and pirate show. both the dive and fish charter boats picked us up from the pier in front of the villa. you could wait in the den of the villa for the boats to dock., the villa's location is approx 5 to 10 minutes to the reef's, which cuts down travel time. it doesn't get any better than this. villa debra kitchen is large and fully equipped, its ac units are central and not wall mounted units. thank you deb for a great trip. jim

  Our dive trip was the trip of a life time. Villa Debra was everything offered and more. Our dive outfitter, Advanced Divers, picked us up every morning just out side our door on our own dock. The weather was perfect. Villa Debra was clean and functional. We were there over Easter, our grand children were invited by residents in the complex to join them in their Easter Egg Hunt. This complex is gated with security that offer to help with everything from luggage to groceries. We will be back for sure. Thanks Deb

  WOW!!! Can't say enough about the VILLA DEBRA, Just feet from the water, The Pictures don't say enough about this Beautiful, spacious vacation home, that is well supplied with all utensils that you need from the kitchen to childrens toys, Eat in or dine out it was great, Deb was a GREAT HOSTESS, helping us plan our snorkeling, fishing and diving excursions and did't stear us wrong, we all had a BLAST on all the activities, this crew of 8 HIGHLY RECOMMED the Villa for a stay while on the Island of Cozumel, Deb will NOT stear you wrong THANK YOU VERY MUCH DEB, THE NEBRASKA CREW

  This was our fourth trip to Cozumel. Each year our family spends Thanksgiving on the island. For the past two years we have stayed at the El Presidente, which we found to be a 5 star hotel. This year we decided to try a new experience and rented Villa Debra for our family of 8 adults. The accommodations and the experience was great; one our family would absolutely repeat. The villa is just as it is described. Our family of 8 adults found the four bedroom and bath accommodations to be perfect for both privacy and communal living. The villa has large outdoor and indoor living spaces which work well for groups. We were very impressed with how well stocked the kitchen was, which is convenient and a money saver. The second story deck is lovely. You can watch the morning sunrise, the rays feed and the cruise ships silently slip by or relax after a busy day and watch the stunning sunsets. Not to mention, it is a great place for the early risers to gather as the night owls catch a little more shuteye. Snorkeling is a highlight for us. As advertised, snorkeling is only steps from your front door. Every morning someone went in for a quick dip and to feed the fish. However, you will find other places to snorkel on the island which has better coral. Deb suggested the Money Bar, which was the best shore snorkeling I have experienced on the island. The villa is located well outside of town but conveniently located to Chankanaab and other beaches. We rented a minivan as cab fare into town is about $30. It is a peaceful location which has 24 hour security who will help you call for a cab if you don't rent a car. Finally, we want to thank Deb for her hospitality and good communication Our flight was delayed 24 hours which left our son and his fiancé on the island waiting for our arrival. I sent an email to Deb who graciously offered to take them to the villa and get them settled in. I found Deb to be a responsive, welcoming hostess, which added to the pleasure of the trip. Bottom line, we had a great time and found Villa Debra to be delightful.

  I can't say enough about the property and the owner, Deb. The house is as advertised and the pictures don't do it justice. We had 6 adults, 1 teen and 5 younger ones and the house was plenty big. Ideal location for the pool, beach and pier. Each bedroom had great furnishings and individual (exquisite) bathrooms. The kitchen was well-stocked and was able to accommodate our entire family in a single seating. As for the other common areas, the upper level deck obviously provided wonderful views in the evening. And overlooked is a nice little seating area outside the first level "front" bedroom. Everything in the house is clean and well maintained, and it is apparent Deb cut no corners in furnishing the house. The community is nice, but maybe not as exceptional as the house itself. It seemed we had the community to ourselves, so it was quiet throughout the week. The convenience of the pier was great, whether for picking us up for a fishing trip or just going snorkeling every day. The pool was pretty good - nice that it had a kid-friendly area, but the surrounding stone can get quite slippery and there are some odd / dangerous edges that you have to be weary of with kids. The hot tub was neither the cleanest nor hottest, but that is obviously not the biggest deal when in Mexico. The beach wasn't "powdery" as it is somewhat rocky - it's not really the kind of sand that our kids could use to build sand castles, but still nice. Location is great if you don't want to be right downtown like us. It is a reasonable 15 minute drive to downtown & anything you could want, including the grocery store. Some beach clubs are about a mile south of the house, Chankanaab is maybe 5 minutes north, and getting to the East side of the island is simple (although be careful trying to do so at night - we nearly ran through a police "checkpoint" closing the road for the night a few miles south of the house). And Deb has to be the most accommodating owner / property manager. Because of a scheduling error on our part, my family arrived a day early & had to stay one evening at a resort. Deb still arranged to meet us at the airport and get us on our way, while also meeting us at the house the next day. She also helped coordinate car rentals while we were there and helped worked around some problems (created by us) in picking the cars up. She communicated with us throughout via phone / email. I would definitely recommend the house to anyone and would certainly stay there again.

• Villa Debra is Amazing

  We traveled to Cozumel for a week in early December. Staying at Villa Debra was an amazing experience and made for a perfect vacation. The property is in a private, gated community and short drive away from town. The house is spacious, well-equipped with all the amenities, and has the most perfect location. The highlight for us was the huge terrace with the most incredible views! Last but not the least, Deb is a great host. She met us at the airport, showed us around the house and was always just a phone call away for any help we needed. She arranged a snorkeling expedition for us and also had our rental gear waiting for us when we arrived! We would love to go back to Villa Debra

  Villa Debra is everything that is advertised and so much more! We had nine people in our group and there was more than enough room for everybody. The ocean and the pier are right outside the front door and all of Cozumel’s great attractions are just a short ride away. Villa Debra has all of the modern amenities that you will need and the kitchen is ready to go. Whether you’re grilling on the deck, relaxing by the pool, or playing in the ocean, this is the place that you want to be. It is perfect for people of all ages and families. We arrived after sunset the first evening but never missed another from the deck overlooking the sea. When booking over the internet you sometimes wonder if your destination is as good as it looks; this one is better than advertised. If you are planning on visiting Cozumel and looking for a place to stay, the Villa Debra has it all! On a final note, Debra is an awesome hostess!

  When traveling with an extended family group of 8 people, it’s hard to find that perfect accommodation – one that has enough bedrooms, comes with a large outdoor space and sits directly on the water…. After our vacation at Villa Debra, we need look no further. It is truly a family-style paradise! The house offers 3 large bedrooms plus a huge master – each with its own en-suite bathroom. The outdoor lanai is more than big enough for even our group. And the location? Picture perfect and right on the water. What’s more, Villa Debra is a hop, skip and a jump from downtown San Miguel, making grocery shopping easy and sightseeing a breeze. It is nearby all the must-see beach clubs although the snorkeling right outside the villa’s front door is top-notch and boasts a veritable wall of fish along with barracuda, starfish, rays and much, much more. The fully equipped kitchen makes cooking a snap although there is a chef service available to guests which we highly recommend – if you order nothing more than the guacamole from these folks you’ll be truly satisfied as it’s some of the best we’ve had. The owner, who is the inspiration for the house’s moniker, only makes your stay that much more enjoyable. She’s available from time of booking to answer any questions you may have, she meets you at the airport to guide you through the car rental process and then leads you directly to the home. She offers recommendations as necessary and is only a phone call away should you have any issues. We have vacationed here twice and would not hesitate to return for a third or even a forth time. We have wonderful memories of jumping directly off the pier and into that wall of fish. We remember awe-inspiring sunsets, card games on the verandah lasting well into the night and soft beds after long days of doing nothing more than snorkeling and sunbathing. Villa Debra is a slice of heaven on earth.

  We just came back from Cozumel where we stayed at Villa Debra. We felt like we were in a palace. Beautifully furnished and decorated and had the most gorgeous views of the aqua blue water right out front! The balcony on the 2nd floor is almost indescribable! Deb had the house supplied with lots of bottled water and fresh fruit! The subdivision is away from the throngs of people usually found at the touristy beach hotels--but we felt totally safe with the 24-hour security. Also, the owner lives on Cozumel, so if needed could be there in a flash--but everything was perfect--so there was no need to call. For divers/snorkelers/sightseers, the dive boat picked us up right at the pier just a few steps in front of the house! Snorkeling in front of the house was amazing too--we saw lobsters, barracuda, flounder, small sting rays and a variety of beautifully colored fish. We got in the middle of a HUGE school of fish and videotaped as it moved around us--AMAZING! When we weren't in the "front yard" right off the pier, we made good use of the pool and jacuzzi. A cab ride into town for 4 of us was 13-15 depending on the size of the cab. We could go into town to shop and eat at restaurants, or go to the grocery store (there are several now) and prepare meals at the house. That's another thing--fully equipped kitchen--whether you prepare simple meals or gourmet, and enough utinsils to accommodate a small army! This was a fun and amazing house with lots of room and it was well equipped. My family and I highly recommend it. For those who like the party scene, the Money Bar (one of the most popular places on the island) is right down the road, with live music on weekends! Chaunkanaab Park, Ziplining and all of the fun beach clubs are just down the road as well--Mr. Sanchos, Playa Mia! I'm going to be thinking of ways to get more of my family and friends to come down to Cozumel so I have a reason to return to Villa Debra sooner! Fantastic place! I read the other reviews and our comments say it all--this place is just AWESOME! The pictures are nice, but they don't do justice to Villa Debra - you walk in and your eyes POP and your head says, "I'm in Paradise, pinch me!" Thank you Deb for sharing your fabulous home with us--we will return as soon as we can!

  OUR FAMILY HAS BEEN GOING TO COZUMEL FOR SEVERAL YEARS BUT THIS IS OUR FIRST YEAR AT VILLA DEBRA AND WE ENJOYED IT EMINENCELY!!! THE VILLA ITSELF WAS EVERYTHING WE COULD HAVE ASKED FOR, THE CLEANING SERVICE DID A GREAT JOB, DEB AND HER HUSBAND WERE THERE TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS THAT WE HAD. WE HAD DINNER COOKED IN ONE NIGHT AND WE FELT TRUELY PAMPERED. WE ARE ALL DIVERS AND THE BENEFIT OF BEING PICKED UP RIGHT AT THE PIER WAS GREAT!!
