We are a family of four with two teenagers (12 yof, 14 yom). The property is probably situated in the most scenic area of the island, surrounded by beautiful tropical mtns on one side and warm and probably one of the best sheltered beaches on the other. The beach and property is very quiet with very few users. The water is approx 4 feet deep out to 400 feet off shore (protected by an off shore reef). Great for snorkelling with the 100-250 lb turtles who visit daily to feed in the area. We swam everyday and saw lots of marine life (no need to go anywhere else). Snorkel gear and beach toys are provided for all ages, as are beach towels and chairs. We hardly used the pool, as the ocean was way more inviting. Pool is clean and refreshing! There is a shower near the pool/ beach to wash off before returning to the room. The condo had a queen sized bed that is in a seperate bedroom with a door for privacy. It is a very large room. The bed is very comfortable. We used the mattresses provided (2) and my daughter slept on the floor in the bedroom. My son slept on the futon in the living room. It is brand new and could sleep two adults. Comfortably, you could sleep 6 in the condo (2x futon, 2x queen, 2x mattresses). The kitchen is fully stocked (microwave, full sized fridge and oven). We did not have to bother Lisa for anything, although I am sure she would have provided. There are two grocery stores within a 10 min drive. Good way to save money and spend your day relaxing at the condo without having to go out. Overall the condo was very clean, and had everything we required. I have no complaints and was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The lanai/ patio is very big and a nice place to enjoy the view and breeze. Security patrol the premises at night and the complex has a FOB key system to access all areas. Very safe and secure! Oahu is very small and it is about an hr to anywhere on the island with a rental. We stayed a week in Waikiki prior to here. If I had to do it again I would have stayed here for the full two wks and drove. Pearl Harbor was a 40 min drive. Traffic does pickup during peak hrs, but the drive (anywhere on the island) is spectacular. We never did meet Lisa, as we were having too much fun for her to find us, however from our interaction throughout the booking and throughout our stay she ensured we were continually satisfied and had everything we desired. I stayed at this location in November and loved it. It truely is a home away from home! The view from the living room and lanai was breath taking. Who needs air conditioner when you got the ocean breeze! The beach was beautiful, sandy and warm. Very quite complex other than the sound of the ocean waves crashing :) I would definately refer this place to families and friends! Thanks Lisa :)

My Hawaiian getaway

My children and I stayed at the Punalu'u unit in May 2011. The unit was definitely well presented and very clean and tidy, had all the amenities we needed and situated in a lovely location for where we needed to be. The description and images are accurate to detail, and the aloha spirit of the people we met is definitely true to form of the Hawaiian culture. Our host/agent is such a sweetheart, definitely very courteous and on call willing to assist us when we needed her. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Punalu'u, there were places to shop and eat out close by or you could drive to other areas depending on how late they were open. We were still getting used to the food and flavours though, if in doubt there was always McDonald's up the road (not that I wanted to eat there at all). Shopping is a short drive up the road but the rest and relaxation I got was my main purpose and I definitely got that on top of time with my daughter who is just a short drive to BYU and The Polynesian Culture Center. The shows there is a fantastic production anda must see when you visit Hawaii. Driving to the other suburbs wasn't too far away, although the roads were either narrow in one part or wide on another side. If you want to keep out of the hustle and bustle of the city life of Honolulu and Waikiki then this area is a must and not too far from everything to be honest. At least I know where to go next time I'm in Hawaii.

A good value/location

I have traveled to Jamaica, Cancun, Peurto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Playa Del Carmen, E. Carribean, Honduras, and many other destinations, that have similar environments/climates. This is my 3rd visit to Hawaii. With that, I will tell you that Lisa is very friendly, helpful, and able to help with any needs. The property was neat, clean, spacious, and for Hawaii, well maintained. It was a good value. It's early yet, and I haven't recieved my deposit, but expect no problems. The location was probably one of the best you can get in that location without spending double the amount.The other occupants were also very friendly. The only negative is "no AC", which for locals is OK, but for those coming from colder climates, it was needed at night time. Because it is right on the beach, maybe 100', the ocean breeze was nice. In order to be more comfortable at night, we left the door open with the bedroom windows open also for the ocean breeze to go thru the unit. However, that was not a very good solution, as the bedroom side of the unit was next to a busy roadway, which resulted in "interrupted sleep". When the wind wasn't blowing, or blowing in the wrong direction, there was a very distinct sewer odor that welcomed us. I know I have written some negative things, but were it not for this, I would definitely rate this property as "excellent". So, this is a good property, but not perfect as you can see. So, given the location, price, cleanliness, friendliness, yet some other offsetting negatives, I would consider this property again, as it is a good value. However, due to the road noise and smell, I would also look around to be sure comparable properties might be available. The negatives could be fixed very easily by installing AC, as the doors and windows could then be closed when needed at night, or when the smell was evident. Were this done, this property would be high on my list should I return to Oahu.

Beautiful Place

The condo was very clean and comfortable. The ocean view from the living room is gorgeous and opening the patio door lets in a wonderful breeze that flows through the entire place. My friends and I were pleasantly surprised to find that masks, snorkels, noodles and boogie boards had been provided for us in the room. The beach is right outside and is very clean and quiet. There were very few people present when we went down there. All of us loved the condo and would definitely stay there again. Thanks Lisa!

Perfect Vacation

We had such a wonderful stay in this condo during the second week of May, 2010. The condo was extremely comfortable for 2 adults, was exceptionally clean, and overlooks a beautiful beach. We spent many mornings at the beach, just a quick jaunt over the lawn. The water was lovely, the sunrise gorgeous. The condo had all the kitchen and beach supplies we needed and looked exactly as it does in the photos. Its not located in the most picturesque of buildings, but the inside of the condo, along with the view from the lanai, and the lovely country location made us feel miles away from the hustle of our lives. We cannot recommend this condo, and Lisa, enough. Lisa is wonderful! Making the arrangements was easy and she made us feel very welcome. This location is a quick and easy drive to all of the beaches and hikes of the North Shore and we spent many days over in Haleiwa, shopping and eating shave ice. There are a million shrimp shacks along the way. We had a great conversation with the server at the Tropic'aina, just down the street. There is a Foodland (supermarket) up the road. We had a perfect vacation here and would not hesitate to rent this condo from Lisa again.

I can't recommend this condo enough! Located in a beautiful, quieter part of the island, within easy reach of both the North Shore and the busy Honolulu/Waikiki area! The condo is beautiful, clean, well stocked, and felt spacious even for four women with lots of stuff between us!! The staff is so accommodating and were always available for any questions we had, both before and during our stay. You'll see beautiful sunrises right from your balcony! And we loved that even though this is located in a moderate sized condo building, there were never many people around, and we usually had our own time with the pool and the beach!! If you choose this property, you will not be disappointed!

My husband and I had a wonderful week of relaxing, exploring and enjoying the beautiful view from this clean, fully equipped condo on Oahu's windward side. The property was everything we expected from the photos, description and reviews. Lisa was extremely helpful and prompt at answering our questions. I feel like we got a great deal considering that we were staying right on the beach, which we often had to ourselves. My only regret is that we did not see any whales. We did see lots of tropical fish (snorkeling), sea turtles, tidepool life and seals, however. I have recommended this condo to a few other friends and will continue to do so.

My husband & I spent Christmas & New Years in your condo. We had a wonderful holiday. We loved having the beach all to ourselves along with our son & his family & my sister & her family who all had their own condos in the same complex. We especially liked this condo because it had a dishwasher & was clean and bright & on the 2nd floor, not too high & not too low, just right for a perfect view of the beautiful Hawaiian sunrises. The condo was clean and well-equipped, and the beach was beautiful. It was WAY better than any fancy hotel on Waikiki. Lisa was wonderful. She was available anytime for questions about the condo, and the island in general. She was very helpful, lent us stuff, and contributed to our having a great time. The condo was everything we needed and more: clean, quiet,comfortable and a view of the ocean to die for. The beach at our doorstep was perfect and never busy. We made use of it and swam every day and loved the water temperature. Anyone weighing the option of spending time in Waikiki should know that up here along the north shore the pace is slower, the endless beaches are uncrowded and the shrimp trucks offer the best garlic shrimp in the world. It's a trip back to the 50's where you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling or just putting your feet up on your lanai with a good book and listening to the surf pound the beach at your feet. We hiked, we saw lots of whales. caught a few sunsets along the north shore(even saw the green flash twice)and enjoyed both eating in as well as up Haliewa way. We loved it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it...and Lisa will make sure your every need is looked after.

We decided to bring our girls and celebrate Thanksgiving in Hawaii. This condo was a perfect size for 2 adults and 3 teenage girls. We stayed 7 nights (8 days). We not only had plenty of space to relax in the evening but also every morning. The kitchen was perfect and the remodeled bathroom was a nice touch. Lisa was quick to respond to any needs that we had and we appreciated her prompt service. We would stay in this unit again and absolutely loved watching the sunrise every morning from the covered lanai, which comes in nicely during a rain storm. My husband and I watched the rain roll in off of the ocean, right up on the beach and over the building, while we were outside enjoying our coffee and the breeze under the covered lanai. The extra large sliding glass door offered a nice refreshing breeze in. Everynight the tradewinds quickly cooled off the unit. I loved having a washer and dryer in the unit too. If you are looking for a clean, affordable, and secure place to stay. I would recommend this unit to anyone. Thanks Lisa for doing such a great job!

This beautiful condo was recommended to my husband and I by our friends, The Lowe's, who stayed there in November 2007. We were extremely happy with all aspects of the condo. We had to travel to Oahu very last minutes. We're fortunate to get connect with the property owner and the property manager. Within 48 hours we were on our way to Oahu with the confirmation of the property. Lisa was wonderful in everyway. She manager to reschedule our appointment due to our schedule. The beachfront condo was very clean and had everything we need. Is was home away from home. Very secure building. The icing to the cake is the beautiful view of the beach. We have just returned from a wonderful vacation to North Shore. We stayed in a beautiful beachfront condo that was very clean. We were thrilled with the exquisite beauty that greeted us from the living room. I was very nervous about the creeping creatures I had heard about that are seen everywhere. I am happy to inform you that we saw not a single bug! Having a washer and dryer for our use in the condo was really nice. It really didn't seem real to us to be in such a beautiful place and enjoyed everything about it. We would gladly return and would request this same condo for our next visit. Thanks so much, Lisa.

We just returned, from staying here for four nights, on our honeymoon. We had very pleasant interactions with Lisa, as far as email and phone contact, prior to arriving, she emailed directions, as well as confirmed that we got them and assured us she was available if we had any additional questions. The drive was about 45 minute – to an hour from the HNL airport. It was nice to be away from the center of Waikiki, too many people for us. The condo was perfect, super clean (I am a clean freak, I travel with wipes just in case I need to clean something, which I didn’t). This place has great views of the Ocean. It was really nice to just walk outside and be on the beach, most days we had the beach to our selves, the water was clear, and sandy- (not rocky), some days people were snorkeling, and said that its a great spot to snorkel. Really this beach is perfect, for those who just want to be near the water, or to get wet. The water was not very deep and would be great for a family, for those who want to surf, several other beaches that are close by would meet your needs. We felt really safe with the security measures that are in place, have to have a key to use the elevator (one is provided to you), plus the manger was onsite each day all day we were there.The full kitchen was a dream. We did cook breakfast most mornings, which was very nice just to lounge around cook, eat, and then decide how to spend our day.We went to the beach every day, so the washer, dryer that was inside the unit was used, for our beach towels etc. They do not have air, but they have two fans, one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom, with the doors, and windows open, it really kept the place comfortable, with the fresh ocean air. We drove to the North Shore, about 40 minutes each day, to eat which has several shops and restaurants to choose from. We loved Cholo’s home-style Mexican. We stopped at a couple of the several parks (road side beach’s- several great pictures of sun sets). Several people were surfing, and the waves were amazing, still not over-crowed. We often stopped on the way back from the North Shore to walk around the beach and watch the sun set. Several small stores, and restaurants were also near by, such as the famous Shrimp Shack, - less than a mile away, we both recommend the coconut shrimp

Our family of 3 stayed here in November 2007. We loved being able to walk out our door, down the stairs and be on the private beach...instant relaxation with beautiful views!! We really enjoyed staying in the countryside rather than the city and it's close to many great locations. Can't wait to go back!
