My girlfriends and I came up here for a girls weekend and we absolutely LOVE this house! It was spacious and charming. The art work is quirky, which we loved. We were close to River St. and all of the attractions downtown Savannah had to offer. We'd definitely stay here again!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a great time in Savannah. The Mimosa House was a great value with a great location. The off-street parking was a real benefit. The artwork was a bit quirky but tasteful. Everything was in great shape, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen is a great family gathering place and the neighborhood is a delight. Less than a block from a grocery store and a really cool park two blocks away. Really worth twice the price!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay in your wonderful apartment. You have done an exquisite job renovating. The art throughout the apartment is especially nice. Our favorite is the Christo above the mantle. We hope the next time we come to Savannah we can extend our stay and soak up everything the city has to offer. Thank you for your hospitality! Best wishes and happy new year!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

That is how we felt when we stayed at the Mimosa House in December, 2010. We arrived to a quaint, restored historic house in a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. You can tell by the clean, well furnished house, the comfortable beds, and the original (and tasteful) art work, how much the owners cherish their property. Our kids and the dog loved playing in the fenced backyard, while Forsyth Park was literally a 90 second walk from the house! As Arnold would say: "I'll be back!"Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Once upon a time, in this house in downtown Savannah, close friends and family met for a Thanksgiving celebration which was going to be unlike any they had ever experienced. If you love art or are looking for a great place to stay on your next trip to Savannah, I highly recommend booking the Mimosa House. Nearly every wall is adorned with the most interesting artworks. I went to Savannah to tour the art college for graduate school and if this home is any indication, Savannah is quite the art appreciating town! Art aside, the home was very clean and comfortable. The location was great! Walking distance to the SCAD admission building and other sightseeing. Plus the rate was very reasonable for all the space and location.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Four of my girl friends and I pick a spot to meet up every year. We stayed at the Mimosa House for our trip to Savannah and couldn't have been more pleased! The location was great! Super close to the grocery store, walking distance to restaurants and shopping, and we loved walking past the other magnificent historic homes in the neighborhood. The ample off street parking was a plus, although we also never had trouble finding parking on the street. The house was very clean and the beds were all comfortable. The kitchen well equipped for the cooking we did (but there are so many great restaurants in Savannah, we ate out most nights!) I fell in love with Savannah and my husband and I have a trip planned for the spring, we'll be sure to stay again at the Mimosa House on our next visit to Savannah!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stay in vacation rentals whenever we travel. And the Mimosa House met our every expectation. Great location, comfortable, and clean. We enjoyed the openness of the kitchen and living room, it made for great visiting in the evenings after spending the day exploring the historic sights of Savannah. We loved being so near Forsyth Park, it was perfect to take our young children to the playground. Of course the backyard was plenty big for playing too. And if you're lucky you might run into the neighbors who share the backyard, as they slowly expand the garden they have been digging for treasures, some of the finds date back to the civil and even revolutionary wars! This was the highlight of our trip from my sons and husband - quite the historic spot! Highly recommend this home for your next visit to Savannah, we'll be sure to stay again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I knew it would be lovely, but was pleased beyond expectation with the charming Mimosa House. Exceedingly comfortable, tidy and well-maintained, with great access to downtown Savannah. My mother (elderly, but she wouldn't agree) was very much at home and charmed by the surroundings. The full kitchen was a plus, as were the private entrance and lovely yard in back. Everything looked and felt thoughtful and polished -- with keen and kind attention to decor and artwork -- a gem in Savannah, ideal for thorough visits to the city.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Well, were leaving soon so I have to keep my words brief. You have an absolutely beautiful house and your unique taste for art shines thorugh in every room - which you already know. I love Savannah! I've come here often for several years, but this was my 1st "adult" trip with my girlfriends! The house was beautiful, your art - great, and I slept so soundly in a very comfortable bed! Could you list the artists' information somewhere on the house? I love all your prints and folk art! Thank you for a great stay that I'm convinced was so because of your house! Thanks.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My stay at the Mimosa House was delightful. The young family that own this excellent get away have worked very hard to make it very special for their guests. They were very helpful in giving the greatest restaurant suggestions as well as directions. The location is in the heart of Savannah & very convenient to all the fine restaurants and sights. Everything was clean and fresh. This lovely unit is beautifully decorated with very cool art & interesting antiques. The kitchen was well equipped with all the amenities of home. The living room is great for sitting, talking, and watching tv. The bedrooms are so comfortable I had no problem sleeping. I couldn't have asked for a finer place to stay. Truly a gorgeous & tranquil place!!!! I just can't wait to go back!!!! And a resounding "Yes, I would recommend this lovely comfortable home away from home".Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Overall I can only rate this average at best. Although it was very nice to be able to stay in a home the entire week we were in Savannah, there were some things in this house that just didn't meet our satisfaction. The very first impression we had of the house when walking in was the overwhelming smell of urine, possibly from a pet? Yes I know that we were in this house during the very hot of summer, however, we had a terrible time trying to keep the house cool. We had to keep 3 box fans and all ceiling fans going at all times to help cool down the upstairs, otherwise, you could barely walk without breaking a sweat. It was great to have the ability to wash and dry clothes, but it may be time to update those appliances, we had a tough time getting that squeaky drier to turn on for us. We were really disappointed in the "charcoal grill" that was there for us to use. It was basically a portable grill that you would bring to a camp ground. We stayed a week, so we planned a bunch of food to cook throughout the week, a lot of it on the grill. Well after one night of cooking on it (we couldn't fit more than 6 burgers on at a time) we didn't use it again. We also wish that the living room had more seating. We were never able to sit in there as a family to do anything. It was nice having the "trunk room" we used it as a 3rd bedroom for our 7 month old baby, his pack n play fit in there quite nicely! The king size bed in the master bedroom was quite comfortable and the room itself was plenty big. Forsyth Park is beautiful, and we walked to it and around it just about every day! We love Savannah, but don't think we would stay in this home again the next time we come down.Recommended for: Pet owners, sightseeing.
Owner response: As you can imagine we were very disappointed to receive this review, as we try VERY hard to make the stay of ALL our guests an exceptional one! Promptly after this review we made the following changes - we moved around some of the furniture in the house to add more seating in the living (a great recommendation!). We also threw out the rug in the living room, which as it turns out was the culprit of the odor! It wasn't urine, but actually the backing of the rug deteriorating. You would have laughed to see my husband and I on hands in knees throughout the house trying to detect the smell :) The grill in the house is on the smaller side, but we also have a larger one outside - so I'm sorry that the guests did not spot the other one! As for the cooling, the week that these guests stayed it was over 100 degrees with the heat index! and it being an old house it's not well insulated, which is one of our goals to work on for the spring. We sincerely hope that you will consider staying at the Mimosa House on your next stay!

My husband, puppy and I spent 3 glorious winters in Mimosa House. The property was right in the heart of all the fantastic things Savannah has to offer. Everything you could need or want was in walking distance. The facility was always clean and very well maintained, with an owner who always responded quickly to any needs we may have had. I would be there again except for a family crisis but do hope someday in the near future to be able to get back to Mimosa House or as I felt, my second home. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great time in Savannah.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this property in April of '09. My parents, husband, 2 year old myself and our 80 lb Lab. It was the perfect place that had all the ammenities we needed. The weather was rotten, but it didn't cramp our great time. The dog had room to roam, there was plenty of room to cook and play gamed in the kitchen. Across the alley from us, there was a neigborhood garden being put in! And right around the corner was the Mercer House and the Kroger's. It's not always easy to travel with a big dog, but he was right at home and we appreciated him being able to come along. Thanks for a clean, comfortable place to call home!Recommended for: Girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, sightseeing.

The only was we could express how much we liked your home was thorugh poetry. Here's a line or two... Roses are red, your artwork is pretty, the next couple of lines are going to be witty. Violets are blue, we are too, we have to go home now, where there's nothing to do. Sugar is sweet, Paula Deen's was sweeter, we had to sprint to our car, to put money in the meter. Our family wishes to thank you for the opportunity to see the "real" Savannah - we spoke with our neighbors and went to the grocery store and walked our puppy and did everything we wanted to do at home, but we're in Savannah! The most beautiful city. The home is so cool and reminded me of home, New Orleans, and the residents are so southern - I do miss that.
