WOW! Where do I start! Just driving into this place is incredible. 300 meters above the Queenstown basin, you're treated to stunning views of mountains all around, paddocks of wild tall grasses, young forests, beautiful flowers, glimpses of grassy paths along the way. Seclusion, privacy, and silence prevail over the whole 168 acres.
Entering the lodge, I almost had to sit down! Walls of rough timber and log slabs, 100 year old bridge beams, rugged recycled Kauri flooring polished smooth, puzzle walls of timber pieces, driftwood bannisters on the stairway, stainless steel kitchen with EVERYTHING, big comfy furniture, Asian carpets, big windows, lots of house plants, high ceilings and plenty of lighting. It was hard to take it all in.
The bedrooms were huge, the beds superb, the en suite bathrooms funky, elaborate, and bright, and the whole lodge had such a comfortable feel to it. The climbing wall kept the kids occupied for hours, we walked the paths around the property every day and swam in the pool. Enclosed with walls of earth filled tires that sprout plants and flowers, the 25 meter pool has silky smooth water free of chlorine or other chemicals. It really must be seen to be believed. And the water is WARM!
Skyview definitely has magic about it, kind of puts a spell on you so you don't want to leave.
