  Just returned from a week at Casa Wynelle. The condo is more than in the pictures and video. Fantastic unit, beautifully decorated, clean, well cared for and a terrific spot for a quiet vacation on the beach. Unit is 3+ bedrooms (one with double beds) also has bunk beds in a back area that would be good for smaller kids. That area also has it's own full bath. Unit has daily maid service (I think it was 6 days/week) The beach is quiet and is nice sand. Usually not too much surf but we did have one afternoon with some bigger waves. I did some snorkeling along the rocks, saw a turtle and a ray as well as a few fish. The pool is nice, not crowded and has great service, including food. All of the people who work in the building were really nice and the other residents were very friendly. Next door is the Presidente Hotel which has a restaurant and one door further down is the Girasol which has the small shop that has basic food and drink items including beer/wine/tequila, etc. Very handy. Playas Gemelas is an easy bus ride to town (7 pesos or about $.60 each way). Roughly 10 minutes and bus comes by every 15 minutes until around 11pm. Cabs are easy to catch and were 100 pesos - 8 bucks. Bus also heads away from town towards Los Arcos, Mismaloya and ends at Boca de Tomatlan. From Boca water taxi to Las Animas, a great beach that can only be reached by water or a tough hike which we did one way from Boca along a goat trail up and down the coast. Not an easy hike but great scenery and a few thrills with some small beaches along the way. We also took a water taxi from Boca to Yelapa and hiked to the 2nd waterfall, about an hour and a half hike from town (no cars, no roads) It is not a well marked trail and you have to cross the river twice, but you can hire a guide from town who will show you if you want. The falls were wonderful and it has a nice pool underneath for swimming. The hike is through what I would call, pure, rural Mexico. PV is a typical Mexican resort town. Hadn't been there in 15 years when we stayed at the all-inclusives north of town) but it's the same, a little nicer than I remember, good restaurants and a hopping beach scene. Love the people there and never felt unsafe traveling with wife and two teen aged girls, even heading off the beaten path. Casa Wynelle is a great place to stay and the owner was very easy to work with. I would certainly go back.

  Owner response: John By your remarks sounds like you had anything but a quiet vacation on the beach, hiking the goat path to Las Animas (which I enjoy doing several time when I'm in PV) and traveling to Yalapa by water taxi then hiking to the waterfall.   We recently spent two weeks at Casawynelle at Las Penas Condos on Playas Gemelas. Everything was wonderful. The condo is beautiful and has an outstanding view of the ocean and Puerto Vallarta. It's quite large and easily accommodated us with our two young boys and in-laws (first week) and friends with another small child (second week). We could have used another seat at the bar but otherwise wanted for nothing. The staff of the building is warm and helpful, and I am already sentimental for the daily maid service. The pool area is lovely. Having toddlers we spent more time in the pool than I imagined we would--the waves in the ocean are too large to allow young children to enter--but they loved it and we loved the well-prepared and inexpensive food available poolside. It was so easy to wake up every day and have pancakes or huevos rancheros overlooking the ocean while the kids splashed around in inner tubes. (Do bring bug spray, since something--mosquitos I'm guessing---equally enjoying dining on us.) The rocky areas at the ends of the beach were great fun for them, too, as they explored the tide pools and 'caves'. In addition to eating at Las Penas, which is mostly breakfast and lunch, we had several good meals just up the beach at Los Girasoles' restaurant. Otherwise we cooked dinner or occasionally went to town. It was so lovely just to be out on the balcony with that view that we didn't really feel the need to go anywhere. Aside from some spectacular noise during a couple of nights close to the new year it was an incredibly restful place to vacation. I would love to return.

  This condo is a beautifully decorated, extremely spacious 3 bedroom plus maids quarter with adorable bunk beds.... the staff is FABULOUS, the view and beach cannot be outdone in PV... the owners were extremely helpful in giving us tidbits to make our trip the best ever - I would return to this condo whenever we are in PV.... a little slice of heaven! Thank you again!

  Our family (6 adults) escaped to Casawynelle for a holiday get-away, and it could not have been more perfect! From the moment we stepped in to the condo, we knew we had picked the right place. Even from eight floors up, the sound of the waves hitting the shore put us in "relaxed mode" instantly, and everything was just as we had pictured it from the website. It is a very clean and well maintained property, and the owners were so helpful with suggestions for places to visit, things to see, etc. We kept in constant communication with them throughout the week via email. We opted to cook most of our meals at the condo, however we did enjoy the breakfasts at the bistro by the beach. I recommend the omelet, made with ingredients of your choice, or the eggs Mexican style. We also took the bus to the grocery store in town, where we purchased our groceries, and fresh fish from the fish market right across the street from the grocery store. New Year's Eve was festive, as we observed fireworks from all around the bay right from our veranda. Awesome! We would definitely recommend Casawynelle as a destination for anyone who wants to be in an area not highly populated by other tourists, huge resorts, or traffic.

  We recently stayed in Case Wynelle and had a wonderful experience! The location is not only beautiful, but ideal. Private pool, private beach area and 15-20mins to Downtown PV to restaurants. The Condo is amazing-beautifully decorated, spacious- Plenty of room for 5-6 adults. There is a cook/kitchen at the Pool that serves breakfast and lunch. Huevos Rancheros and Pancakes! YUM! Casa Wynelle hosts are fantastic! Helpful, informative and gracious. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

  My husband and I, along with three friends, had the pleasure of staying at Casa Wynelle two weeks ago. The condo itself is absolutely gorgeous. The balcony overlooks the pool and the ocean beyond. Everything about Casa Wynelle invites you to relax and enjoy. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well-suited to cook at home, although we went out for most of our meals. We did have breakfast by the pool a few times and it was delicious. The staff is very helpful and accomodating. The owners were also very helpful, with information and tips on how to get around and ideas for restaurants, day-trips, and the area of Puerto Vallarta in general. I highly recommend Casa Wynelle for a luxurious and relaxing get-away.
