Me & my son like to take vacations now where we can just relax....and we did! Took long walks & saw deer along the way...we had a lot of rain the week we went but with the outdoor gazebo being enclosed & with TV we still got to enjoy being outdoors during those times. Bob was great to work with & very prompt in giving us our deposit back. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place if you are looking to relax....the backyard is gorgeous & love the walkway down to the river...I sat on the deck 1/2 way down whenever I could just to read. You won't regret it.
Recommended for:Pet owners, families with teenagers.

We had a group of people mountain biking at Big M. The lodge was great for the group....roomy, inside and out. Just make sure to bring plenty of bug spray! It was really close to Big M - you have to drive right by the trail head. Bob was good to work with - very prompt with questions and getting our deposit back. One of the couples in our group wanted to rent it for another weekend this summer but it was already booked. We would rent the lodge again!
Recommended for:Sightseeing, adventure seekers.

This place is everything they say. Really roomy - easily accomodate a large group. Definitely would recommend and return. Hiked the Big M trail system (<5 miles away) and the North Country Trail (walking distance). Tubing was fun.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children.

Hot Shot Lodge is defintely a nice place. A very peaceful setting on the Little Manistee River..we tubed the river which was alot of fun..water was a little chilly and sometimes a bit scary for the ladies-when you had to dodge tree branches that were in the river...but we survived...the newer deck and the new gazebo are a nice touch to the house...house is very spacious and there are 3 large bedrooms...if you like to hike there are nice trails close by....we were prepared with our food--but if you need something from the store--the closest store is about 20 minutes away....we did drive into Manistee (about 30 min) for a nice day at Douglas Park--water in Lake Michigan was warm...definetly somewhere we would return...Bob & Sue the owners were very prompt with e-mails questions and concerns........Deb & Jim
