I booked this cabin as a location to help a friend celebrate his 40th birthday. Everyone in attendance had spent a number of years living in the Bozeman area, but not much time in Paradise Valley. We were able to sleep 5 grown men easily (with the 2 shortest fitting in the smaller twin beds). The sunroom provided a great space to sit around, enjoy a drink and catch up. The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the hardware we needed for meals and the large dining room table gave us plenty of room to spread out. Unfortunately, the weather was cold and windy so the outdoor firepit and back porch went unused. A number of hiking trails were in close proximity to the cabin and within a 15 minute drive, we were setting out for some fresh air.

HIGHLY recommended!!! This rental is the perfect getaway; warm and cozy with beautiful views of the Yellowstone River and surrounding Paradise Valley area. We all enjoyed lovely walks along the river and sightseeing in Yellowstone and Bozeman. The house itself has an open layout that is great for relaxing or entertaining extended family groups. The landlord was responsive and helpful, and we greatly appreciated being able to have the family dog spend the holiday with us at the house. Can't wait to return in summer!

We hope that every guest that visits here has a great time and will do all we can to make that happen. Come and enjoy beautiful Paradise Valley Montana and Yellowstone National Park. It could be the vacation of a lifetime. Pat and Gordon

I LOVED this place! I wanted a "neutral" location to celebrate Thanksgiving with my family--a place where we could all get away and relax together and not have to worry about hosting the event. The floor plan is perfect for group relaxing, cooking, and playing. The river setting is beautiful and relaxing. The house was clean and well-outfitted for group use. Gordon and his family made it so easy and convenient for us. I would highly recommend this house. We would love to come again.

I rented this house for my big 4-0. I had family and friends coming from Louisiana and I wanted them to have the best time in Montana. This house was perfect. It has beautiful views of the mountains and the river. I have a fishing raft and we would put the boats in the water upstream from the house and float down to the property. Everyone was catching fish. The fire pit is down a short gravel road from the house which was awesome because you are sitting near the water. The house was equipped with everything you need to cook and sleep comfortably. I will definitely suggest renting this house and I hope to do so again in the future.

We took two grandkids aged 9 & 11 for a week in Paradise Valley & Yellowstone. We drove over 1,100 miles to get there & fortunately we all had a good time. Because of the long drive, we spent much more time at the house than at the Park than we expected to, and Point of View was wonderful for that. The place was roomy enough for us not to be on top of one another; the sun room made a great family room. The kids loved running around outside and the adults enjoyed sitting on the patio or inside if it was windy, enjoying the spectacular views in different lights and weathers. When we first got there we were quite disappointed in that the river is a looong way down a steep dirt track; out the window went our plan of picnic-ing on the bank. We made it down & up once (I with my walking poles) though the kids ran up and down a few times. But quickly we were fine with it, because the changing view and bird sightings were so nice up above. (Our grandson is a keen birder and had what he termed a "once in a lifetime" experience when the resident bald eagle tried to chase off a fishing osprey -- and the osprey won.) Another thing that was a bit dicey for seniors was the bathing arrangements; the master suite shower is in a steep step up tub with no grab bars, while the step-in smaller one is a slippery plastic with no bars either. Not really suitable for anyone old or handicapped. With these caveats, we would highly recommend Point of View as a lovely place to relax and rest.

Owner response: We are contacting a local contractor to get grab bars put in the master bathroom tub and will put a rubber mat in the guest bathroom shower.

Gorgeous location above the Yellowstone River. We sat on the deck in the morning for a couple of hours before heading out for the day. We rarely make time to just sit. We ate all dinner on the deck also soaking in the view and quiet. Originally, we had planned to eat dinner at Chico Hot Springs but we could not resist the location of the cabin. Wonderful star gazing at night. Cabin was clean and every kitchen accessory was available. We are going back.

We were so happy with this rental; location was perfect for our visit to attend a family reunion in the Paradise Valley. The home layout was wonderful for our family of five. The kitchen came well equipped with utensils, pots & pans and all the necessary appliances to allow us to cook at home and have time to fish the river just down the hill. The fact that we were able to have our family dogs with us also was a BIG plus for us. Just a couple of notes: the home was not in the best cleanliness condition when we arrived (i.e. kitchen garbage can not cleaned from previous renters-yuk! & other stuff), some of the pans need replacing due to Teflon flaking off, and laundry area was kind of in disarray and a little dirty. Those are minor items (we can clean up!) based on the property amenities and comfort factors. The view cannot be beat.

This is our second stay at the Point of View house, and there is a reason we came back. The home is easy to access, well-maintained and the location and views are incredible. The proximity to Yellowstone allowed us to explore the park, soak in the boiling river, relax at Chico, hike up Deep Creek and rockhound for petrified wood on the Yellowstone, while still returning to a comfortable home where we made big family meals and enjoyed the stars. My sister-in-law surprised us and arrived the second day of our stay, she called the owners who were super responsive and gave her "excellent directions". Thanks for another great stay!

What a great spot for a Thanksgiving getaway! The scenery was really beautiful and the house was very clean and comfortable with a nice layout for a family with kids. We enjoyed Chico Hot Springs and exploring Livingston and Yellowstone National Park. We would love to visit again in the summer!

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2004

About the owner: Your Hosts Gordon, Pat and Paul Mabie. My wife Pat and I spent 24 years in the U.S. Army. After we retired we moved to Bozeman, MT to be closer to the grandkids. We are RVers who love to travel. We spend our summers in Montana and our winters in Key West, Florida. We are delighted to be able to offer our vacation rental home to guests who want to visit Southwest Montana. Gordon has recently become a Marriage Officiant and is able to conduct weddings. at Point of View

Why the Owner Chose Paradise Valley:
Our son, Paul, wanted to purchase a home in Montana. We joined in the purchase with him. We fell in love with this home and its location on the Yellowstone River.

The Unique Benefits at this House:
You can fly fish from the river bank, swim (life preservers recommended) play horseshoes, float the river in a tube, boat, raft or life preserver, picnic or just relax and watch the river flow by. Deer use the 800 acre undeveloped land next door to the south as a river crossing. There is a bald eagle that fishes and patrols the river. White pelicans float downstream often.
