We are pleased to introduce our Colorado mountain retreat, The Powder House at Cimarron. If you are looking for luxury Steamboat, CO vacation rentals, townhomes or condo rentals, our family vacation townhouse rental is an ideal choice. Located in the Cimarron at Steamboat development, which is a recently completed luxury vacation rental property a mere five minute walk from the gondola and base area of the ski mountain, Cimarron consists of twenty-three privately owned rental units each reflecting the personal tastes of their owners.
The construction design of this rental townhouse is log post and beam style which perfectly reflects its Rocky Mountain location. Air conditioning will be a welcome option during the warm summer days and The Powder House was constructed using a radiant floor heating system for those cold winter nights. This extremely efficient and eco-friendly heating process uses tubing embedded in each floor to distribute a mixture of glycol and water to comfortably heat the interior without the need for the drying and static producing forced air heating. You will notice the difference the first time you walk on the bare floor. The thermostat need only be set at 65 degrees for a cozy temperature day or night!
In an effort to preserve the environment of our state and of the Yampa Valley, The Powder House now has recycling bins in the garage for use by all of our guests. Since most people already support this endeavor in their homes, we hope that our guests will take advantage of recycling while on vacation. Each garbage bin will be clearly marked for the appropriate refuse.
The Powder House is a five bedroom townhouse rental with over 3000 square feet of living area and five and a half bathrooms. There are three master suites with king beds and one bedroom with a queen bed. The fifth bedroom is designed for singles and children with a bunk bed and a trundle. Every bedroom has an HD flat screen television and clock radio. Each of the bedrooms has a private access bathroom, all with showers and two with tubs. For the convenience and safety of our guests, The Powder House has a heated walkway, heated driveway and two car garage. The Cimarron complex has a recreation center located in the center of the property with a heated pool/hot tub and locker rooms with fitness center for the use by all owners and guests.
The Powder House is the perfect choice for a large family or several couples who would enjoy sharing their mountain experience. You enter the townhouse on the ground level, which includes two bedrooms and the washer and dryer. The first thing that you will notice is the slate flooring which is comfortably heated through the radiant heat system that is used throughout the unit. In the foyer of this level, there is sports equipment center that includes cubbies and coat hooks for storage of winter and summer gear. The bench makes a very convenient spot for slipping into those nicely warmed ski boots before you head for the slopes.
At the top of the stairs, you enter the heart of our Steamboat town home. The great room has a vaulted two-story ceiling accented by an oversized stone fireplace. Our abundant Colorado sunshine warms the interior of the house through the floor to ceiling windows. The major focus of the great room is the stone fireplace and the entertainment center. A 56" HD flat screen television is perfect for viewing your favorite movie or keeping tabs on your hometown team. This living space is the ideal gathering spot for family and friends after an exhilarating day on the slopes or rafting down the Yampa.
Accessible through the great room is the outdoor balcony, which faces the interior of the complex. It is furnished with a table and chairs for relaxation or al fresco dining and a gas barbecue for use in winter and in summer.
The gourmet kitchen is equipped with a Viking gas six burner stove and oven, two-drawer Kitchen-Aide dishwasher, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer and microwave. Should you want to test your culinary skills, you will find that the kitchen is supplied with every tool and gadget that you could want. If you have forgotten to bring along your favorite recipe, not to worry! We have a collection of our favorite recipes in our version of a local cookbook, "Cimarron Cooks".
The dining room seats 10 guests and the kitchen counter another 4. The European rustic style table, chairs and dining room bench will be the focal point for your Steamboat evenings. The view from the dining room looks towards Emerald Mountain to the west and the splendid Colorado sunsets .
The Master bedroom suite is also located on the main floor. This king bedded suite has a 32" HD flat screen television. There is a remote control unit for the fireplace at your bedside. The private bath for this suite is complete with Jacuzzi tub, double vanity and glass enclosed shower.
On the third floor, there is a loft which overlooks the entire living area of the main floor. We have furnished this area with a pool table and stools for your late night entertainment.
There are two junior master suites on this floor that each have a king bed and private bath. The view from the large picture window in this suite looks directly to the ski area and gondola. Both bathrooms have a tiled shower with glass door and vanity area.

We decided to go on a last minute trip to Steamboat last year at the end of the ski season and had one of our best trips ever staying at The Powder House. The place is amazing! It is clean, comfortable, has everything anyone would need in the kitchen, and fun! It is located close to everything and has an on-demand shuttle service, so a car is not needed. It was very easy to make plans for our arrival with Melissa and the onsite property manager was there to let us in and show us everything we needed to know. I highly recommend staying here and plan to again.

This is an amazing rental property. We have stayed in several VRBO properties in Georgia, Florida and Colorado. The Powederhouse is BY FAR our favorite. The owners pay great attention to detail. For a family that loves to cook, they provide everything imaginable for the kitchen, not to mention a wine refrigerator so that your wine is perfectly chilled at all times! There is plenty of space with the five bedroom and five bathrooms spread out onto three levels. We all loved spending time in the hot tub on the deck. We have stayed at the Powderhouse twice and it is the ONLY place we would consider when traveling to Steamboat Springs.

The property was wonderful! All the adults (120 had a bed and each bedroom had a bathroom. We were all able to sit at the large dinning room table and share our meals together and the kitchen was well stocked with whatever we needed to cook with. The location is within walking distance to the ski area, shopping and groceries, so it is a great central location.

Stayed here a few years back with my cousins for a week of golf in September at Steamboat. Great place to kick back and relax. Fully equipped kitchen...Gas grill... Hot tub....Exercise facilitiies a few steps away...Great big screen\stereo for watching games listening to tunes...Pool table...Wireless hook up...Five comfortable bedrooms with their own baths....Golf right down the road at Rollingstone or Haymaker....Weather was perfect in September...Owners have thought of everything !! Can't wait to get back there !

An Incredible Steamboat Destination

Every summer, I rent the Powder House at Cimarron with two other families. This is our destination of choice in Steamboat. We'll be returning this year, and the next, and the next..... What do we love about the Powder House? There are king beds everywhere! And they are super-comfy. There is plenty of space, even with six adults and 6 children running around. There is a gourmet kitchen! We love cooking elaborate meals at the Powder House. There is WIFI for those of us that need to stay connected. The hot tub, pool, and workout facility are great as well. Melissa and John (he's the "onsite manager") are a pleasure to work with. I can't recommend the Powder House at Cimarron enough. It is an absolutely fabulous place to stay, especially if you have discerning tastes.

great place for family reunion

We had a three generation family reunion here in July. The bedrooms were comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped for many big family meals. We had plenty of room for eight adults and four children. We thought the location was good, very close to the gondola square. Everyone enjoyed playing pool in the evenings and the tv and dvd player got a good workout in the family room. The only drawback for us was having to smell the trash cans in the garage. We checked in on Tuesday and the trash wasn't collected until Friday. The trash barrels have to stay in the garage until pick up day and the previous guests had filled them with who knows what the weekend before we arrived. I don't know what the solution could have been, but it was somewhat unpleasant in the garage. The smell did not enter the house though, so there was no problem at all inside. We would definitely stay here again whenever we have the need for a large place.

Regarding the trash, since your stay we have added another 96 gallon trash can (we now have 3) as well as a recycling can the same size. In addition we have installed a lysol auto mister near the cans to help when needed. We look forward to having you stay with us again.

Melissa, What a fabulous time we had at your place. It was more beautiful than expected and the surroundings were gorgeous. The golf was fabulous, the shopping was great and the alpine slide was a blast. It was nice to be able to come back after a day of activities and enjoy the pool and jacuzzi. Hi Althea,I just wanted to write a quick follow-up e-mail to let you know, again, how much we enjoyed our stay at the Powderhouse. Even though the skiing wasn’t an option for us, we enjoyed spending quality time with our families. My sister and I did most of the cooking, and absolutely LOVED using all of the new appliances, dishes, table décor, utensils, etc.. All of the furnishings, bed linens and electronics were awesome as well. We were very impressed with everything from Crate and Barrel, Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn (we love those stores). Anyway, it was a wonderful experience for all of us, and we would recommend it to any of our friends in the future!
