This unique 1800 sq. foot3 bedroom 2.5 bath home with amazing views is located a few steps from one of the most beautiful coastal Regional trails in California and is only a short 5 minute walk to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and Cannery Row.
Words cannot do justice in describing the experience you will have walking along this magical beach trail that unites the Monterey Bay Aquarium,Cannery Row, Fisherman's Wharf and Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds. Every twist and turn brings another incredible view of Monterey Bay with it's abundance of wildlife, pelicans, seagulls, deer, otters, sea lions, whales, dolphins in a setting of crashing ocean waves,sand dunes, wildflowers, sailboats, and breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.
One of the best kept secrets on the Peninsula - is the Pacific Grove Golf Course which is just a 5 minute drive with great prices and amazing views including the lighthouse at Pt.Pinos.
Upon arrival you will be greeted with delicious hors d'oeuvre's, local wine or sparkling cider, local coffee and biscotti to start your first morning off. You will find a welcome book that tells you everything you need to know to enjoy your time here
as well as numerous maps, menu's, magazines about the area and the
owners favorite places to visit and eat.
Entering Sanctuary you come through a small courtyard similar
to the quaint charm of Carmel gardens with colorful flowers in moss containers. A small gated entrance filled with orchids and flowers
adds beauty to the charm and special house you are about to enter.
You will be delighted with the light filled rooms, tastefully furnished in neutral tones balanced with warm earth colors,warm beige, sage green and rusts.
Everything has been designed with your comfort and enjoyment in mind including Spa amenities,plush bathrobes,french press for coffee and capachino maker, reading library, picnic baskets, beach chairs, coolers and umbrellas for a great outing to the beach.
The space is light & airy, with high wood ceilings, hand made warm
terra cotta tiles in the kitchen,dining areas as well as all the bathrooms.
In the living room there is an gas burning fireplace with a couch,
chaise lounge, a perfect spot to read, gaze at the fire and glance at the beautiful blue ever changing sea beyond the french doors. You will also find a large comfortable couch with plenty of pillows and a warm throw to snuggle up with as well a small game table with two chairs ready for a game of cards or other available games. You can watch a good movie from our D.V. D library or HBO on Cable T.V. The couch also doubles as an extra bed. There are many books and magazines available to read and be transported into far away lands
and exciting adventures from the imagination.
The kitchen is fully equipped for making a 7 course dinner and
has everything you could possibly need including a french press and capachino machine. You will be delighted with the vast selection of dishes,wine glasses, sharpened knives, platters, cooking and bake ware and the abundance of utensils and accessories that most kitchen homes don't have. You will also find a large selection of cookbooks and cooking magazines to inspire you, although just looking out the windows and seeing the expansive horizon of the blue waters.
The house is a reverse floor plan. On the first floor are two bedrooms and a bathroom with a large spacious step down shower.
The larger bedroom has ocean views. There is also a laundry room, and door to the garage.
The main upper level has a large open living area,kitchen, and
dining room. All have amazing views from every window. There are
two balconies with potted plants and flowers and the best place
to sit and have morning coffee or afternoon wine while watching the sunrise and sunset.........The Master bedroom has a king size bed
with a memory foam mattress for a great night's sleep that includes
hearing the water outside your window. There is a also a small private patio
Feel free to bring or rent a kayak, boat or bike and keep it in the garage.

Who would have thought after 35 years of twice-a-year staying in local hotels that we would finally find our sanctuary? Everything was perfect. It is obvious that Annee's heart an soul are happiest in providing the most minutes comforts to the human spirit. After our healing has begun, we plan to return with the rest of our family. The beauty and strength of the sea and the comfort and tranquility of Annee and David's house will surely help to provide the solace that we need to progress through our transition. Thank you for providing such a beautifully appointed sanctuary.

What a wonderful week we had! We (4 sisters - 2 from VA and 2 from MA) enjoyed great weather to golf and beach walk. This area is a perfect location for so many interests! Lunch at Nepenthe is not be be missed, as well as dinner at Pacific Edge in Carmel. The views at both are spectacular! We really enjoyed your lovely home with beautiful views of crashing waves and marine life! Thank you for making our "reunion" so special!

Every detail was in place which was very much appreciated; from the fantastic pesto tore in the cooler (yum), to the luxurious bedding, wine, sunsets and views. We can’t believe we have to leave! Sanctuary – What a beautiful, comfortable and inviting retreat! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our visit. So many fun, relaxing activities – strolling along the ocean, visits to the aquarium, morning coffee at Juice & Java, fantastic golf and just relaxing in this spectacular home with gorgeous views! Annee, you have a great sense of style and comfort and obviously are a great cook in addition. The cheese torte was delicious. Sanctuary is a lovely oasis adjacent to bustling Monterey: Gorgeous views of the Bay from the living areas:just down the street to the bike and walking path: and a short stroll to the Aquarium and Cannery Row. Our family enjoyed seeing harbor seals so close. We liked being able to walk to shops and restaurants. West along the scenic path is Lover’s Point where our grandchildren played on the sheltered sandy beach. Annee has created a sanctuary that would be enjoyable without the surrounding attractions. Luxurious bed linens, décor and small touches make Sanctuary a special experience. Besides welcoming wine and an appetizer, she also provided animal crackers for our grandchildren. We have rented several beach homes in Fort Bragg, Jenner, Aptos, and Capitola, but Sanctuary stands head and shoulders above them. This has been a great week and we look forward to returning in the future. Thank you for a five star vacation.
