We live in the cottage part of the year, so our love of comfort spells comfort for you. Maxfield Cottage is a spacious, secluded hideaway in the heart of historic Old Bisbee. A pleasant 2-3 minute walk takes you to the shops, galleries, cafes, museums and bars of Main Street or Brewery Gulch, and when you are ready to retreat and relax, return to your home away from home. Private gardens front and back and a wide wraparound deck with comfortable lounge chairs allow you to recline in the shade when it is warm or sit in the sun when it is cool. One side of the house looks out on the mountains. A large sunroom with skylights gives an outside ambience even when you are indoors. The living room opens onto a lovely fenced garden that provides privacy for relaxation or dining.
The wheelchair accessible entrance to the house is at street level behind the fence. There is private parking in front of the house and a parking lot for Maxfield Avenue residents steps away - a decided advantage in a mountain town where parking spaces are precious.
You may choose to eat on the table in the front garden, the dining area in the large living room-dining room, at the picnic table on the deck at the back of the house, or in the sunken back garden below the deck. A high table and chairs on the deck is excellent for breakfast or cocktails with a view.
If it’s too quiet, you can invite the outside world in via Cable TV or the VCR/DVD player; if you have a wireless modem/card, internet reception is good anywhere in the cottage.
The queen-sized bed sleeps two comfortably (or three, if you have a small breed dog. No cats, please, our kids are allergic.)
The colorfully-titled kitchen is charming and completely equipped with full-size stove and refrigerator plus microwave. All you need to bring is what you choose to eat and drink. A washer and dryer are available for your use. Linens are provided.
On unusually hot days, you’ll welcome the air conditioners in the living room and kitchen and will appreciate the two gas stove heaters in the lvingroom/dining area when it is chilly.
Maxfield Cottage awaits you. Enjoy! |
