Great Cottage in Estes Park

Guest: Steve (Metro Chicago)
Date of Stay: 10/01/11 Review Submitted: 10/13/11

This is the 2nd year my wife and I have spent a week in the fall season at this cozy cottage. The reason we've come again and stayed at the same place is because it's perfect for us. The cottage is clean, well taken care of, in a great location, and well managed by genuinely nice people. The location is perfect for access to Rocky Mountain National Park and also is walking distance to downtown Estes Park. This is a great getaway location for a couple or a small family. We will be back to the front range in Colorado again and we definately will stay at this cottage, if they'll have us!

We loved staying at the cottage. We had wonderful views of the stars at night and the mountains by day. The cottage was neat, clean, and well maintained. We would recommend this cottage to family and friends. Location is within walking distance of Estes Park if you don't mind walking up the hill.

Relaxing but always too short

We enjoyed our stay and Jim was very patient helping get the WiFi running. Kitchen had everything we needed (which is not always the case) and sometimes even two some items. Jim and Lois were great hosts. This is a quiet place yet right in town so you can walk to all your favorite shops on the main drag. Thanks again.

Cute cottage close to downtown and RMNP

My boyfriend and I spent 3 nights here over labor day weekend. The cottage is in a great location - easy walk to downtown so you don't have to worry about parking, and you can get into RMNP very quickly (and miss all the downtown traffic)! The view from the porch was fantastic, especially at night, and the area is very quiet. The cottage is clean, and well kept. It was the perfect size for us, but would have been a little crowded with two more adults. We didn't utilize the laundry or kitchen very much since we spent most of the weekend hiking in the park, but during a longer stay it would be useful. WIFI access worked great, and there was cable. The TVs are a little on the older side, but we were there to enjoy RMNP and not sit around watching TV the whole time.

The Cottage was a great place to stay. It was just right for my husband and I along with our 3 young girls to stay. Very clean, quiet, great view of mountains and had every amenity we needed. Great location to RMNP and to downtown Estes. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping and entertainment. I would recommend this place to both couples and families.

Great Location! Quiet! Very Comfortable.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage. The property is a second floor flat (stairs only) above a grarage with a very nice layout, well furnished, very comfortable, and a beautiful deck with spectacular views. We had an exceptionaly quiet stay, with no use of the garage or the B&B associated with this property. The photos accurately show the property's furnishings and we found it to be very clean and well-maintained with all the needed kitchen utensils and appliances. The location was ideal for quick trips into RMNP. We selected this property as a base for our hiking and photo excursions into the park and it worked out great. We were up very early each day and were rewarded one day with an entire herd of Elk (20 or so) walking in the field off the deck and another day with 3 mule deer grazing in the same area.

Cozy Cottage!

Guest: Missy (Colorado)
Date of Stay: 12/29/10 Review Submitted: 01/06/11

Had a great time at this cottage during the New Year's Holiday. It was homey and very comfortable. A nice place to relax and unwind. I'm hoping to go back when it is warmer so I can enjoy the wonderful deck and its views. The owner was very prompt, responsive and helpful in setting up the reservation. Thanks Jennifer!! The location was great, too. The cottage was in a very quiet setting, but a five minute walk got me to the Main Street of Estes Park. I loved not having to drive~even if it was a cold walk! Overall, a wonderful time. I definitely plan to go back.

September in Estes

Guest: Texas Pura Vida! (Katy (Houston), Texas)
Date of Stay: 09/20/10 Review Submitted: 09/26/10

The cottage was at a minimum as good as advertised. It was very well maintained and very welcoming when we arrived. The location is perfect: a short walk to downtown shopping and restaurants, a short drive to Rocky Mtn Natl Park and great hiking, and only 1 1/2 hours to Denver and 2 hours to Cheyenne if one so desires. Our stay during the third week of September was excellent as we were able to see the Aspens changing colors along with good wildlife activity (especially the elk roaming the streets of Estes Park!). The crowds aren't quite as large during the week at this time so you are treated well by all of the business owners. We would highly recommend this property.

Cottage was as describe. Great views, very clean & well furnished. Easy walk to town. Bath towels needed to be upgraded & sleeper sofa was very uncomfortable. Would rent again, but only for two due to previous statement. Jennifer even threw in an additional night. Overall...great cottage.

Davis Hill Cottage

We've been going to Estes for 8-10 years and this property is abolutely the best value we've found. Excellent views and quiet. Walking distance from downtown and minutes from the park. When our vehicle wouldn't start one morning the owners saved out trip by arranging a ride back to Denver that day. I was able to get back in time for our dinner reservation and see the elk! Thank you Jim and Lois!

A short walk from Downtown Estes Park with Amazing views of Longs Peak.

Guest: Lil Ole (Waunakee, WI)
Date of Stay: 08/26/10 Review Submitted: 04/02/11

We will definitely be staying here again. The location is ideal, just a short 5 minute walk to downtown, and just across the street from Sweet Bascilico with the world's best pizza, which happens to be next to Estes Park Brewery and Fun World. Sitting on the deck there is an amazing view of the mountains with a direct view of Longs Peak, and Flattop Mountain and the whole range of mountain tops surrounding Bear Lake. The cottage is a short drive from the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance and is located adjacent to one of the areas neatest bed and breakfasts. Laundry is available beneath the unit making the trip very convenient. The kitchen, fully stocked with dishes and pot/pans, etc., allowed us to cook and eat in, make the trip more relaxing and more affordable. During our stay we traveled with our one year old son, the Cottage included a pack-n-play, so he had a place to sleep. Our two older boys were comfortable sleeping on the pull out couch in the leaving room. I'd strongly recommend this cottage. Enjoy the stay!

Great location with everything you need to feel at home!

This cottage is located in a great area and is literally only 5 minutes from RMNP and downtown. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and has great views of the mountains. We loved the fact that we didn't have to drive through Estes Park everytime we went to RMNP since we hiked there every day. Inside it offered everything we needed. Overall, it was clean (for example, refrigerator was spotless upon arrival), fresh smelling and comfortable feeling. The full kitchen was a joy to work in, the king sized bed was very comfortable and the showerhead had great water pressure. We are a family of four and it ended up that we did use the rollaway bed for one of our girls as they don't typically sleep well together on a sleeper sofa. The rollaway mattress was great. We also utilized the grill and washer and dryer while we were there . The complimentary wi-fi was an added bonus, we enjoyed emailing pics of the area to family daily! We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others. The owners of the cottage also own a B&B which is adjacent to the cottage. They were pleasant, ready to answer questions, yet at the same time, allowed us our privacy. All in all, a great time was had by all of us in the mountains of Colorado!

Nice place for a small family

Guest: Mark (Heartland, Texas)
Date of Stay: 07/03/10 Review Submitted: 07/12/10

The property was clean, up to date, and while not large it was the perfect size for the 3 of us who were on the go. Thanks to the owners, as they were friendly, helpful, and had suggestions for things to do locally. Going downstairs to do laundry was a minor inconvenience but on a positive note, they were upgrading the washer/dryer as we were leaving. Although it's a short walk to downtown, the neighborhood was always quiet and we got to see some elk one evening. Having wifi access from the front porch of the B&B that is adjacent to the cottage was helpful. Thanks for a great week!

Owner response:Wireless internet also works great in the cottage, as well as the porch of the B&B. And yes, we just got a new washer/dryer for your use.

Stayed here in June of 2009. Had a great time. Apartment was very clean, with plenty of towels. Also has a washer dryer and a grill which we took advantage of. Great views-five minutes from town and RMNP. My only suggestion would be to add a few more pots and pans for the kitchen. We would stay here again.

Owner response:Thanks, Donna! We added some more pots and pans today at your request. We are so glad you have a good time!
