Located on the exclusive Balboa Peninsula Point, which is only three blocks wide, our 4 bedroom, 3 bath family home is a short walk to beaches on both the ocean and bay. For your enjoyment, we have plenty of “cruiser” bicycles and beach chairs.
Take a short drive or bike ride to Balboa’s Fun Zone, where you can enjoy our famous chocolate-covered Balboa Bars, whale-watching tours, Duffy electric boat rentals, and the kid-friendly arcades. Across Balboa Boulevard from the Balboa Pier, with Ruby’s restaurant at the end, the Balboa Ferry takes you across the bay to Balboa Island, definitely worth a look, with its unique shops and restaurants.
Our "Hibiscus House," named for the signature yellow hibiscus in the front yard, has a warm knotty-pine Great Room upstairs, bright with designer windows, and highlighted by movie posters and colorful accessories. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, coffeemaker, blender, and everything else you’ll need to entertain. In the spacious Master Bedroom suite, there’s a California King bed, armoire, large closet, and adjoining bathroom with marble shower and counters and its own huge closet. New hardwood floors and carpeting have been installed throughout the house.
The Great Room, Master Bedroom suite, Kitchen, Dining area and Deck are all on one level upstairs in our upside-down house to take advantage of the cool ocean breezes and light, and downstairs you’ll find two more bedrooms with Queen Size beds, and a den with bunk beds, TV, and piano. A hall bath accommodates the two bedrooms. Linens and towels are provided, and the oversized two-car garage houses a brand new washer and dryer. Cleaning service can be made available for an additional fee, but no pets or smoking are allowed in the home.
The upstairs private deck is fully furnished with chaise lounges, sofa, umbrella, dining table/chairs and stainless steel gas barbecue. When you return to the house from the beach or bay, rinse off under our outdoor sand shower on the side of the house.
Nearby (E Street) the boardwalk starts, and you can walk, jog, bicycle (we have several bicycles in the garage), or skate for miles. A short drive to Huntington Beach (15 minutes) provides professional surfing and volleyball tournaments along with outdoor music festivals and art exhibits. You can spend your evenings roasting marshmallows at the Balboa Pier and you’re not far from Corona Del Mar and Laguna Beach's art galleries.
During the summer, Newport Beach, and especially the Peninsula Point, are popular destinations for big-wave watchers, with the Wedge just two blocks away. If you’re looking for a very quiet vacation, be sure to visit again once Labor Day is over, and you’ll find the great weather is still here, but you’ll have the beaches all to yourselves!
