We lived in the Monterey Bay area 20 years ago, returned to visit family and friends and show our 21 year old daughter around. We loved staying in the apartment rather than a hotel. It was clean and well stocked. We were able to take our time and enjoy relaxing mornings over breakfast and keep fresh fruit, veggies and other snacks in the refrigerator. It was a little chilly during our visit, the fireplaced kept us warm and made it cozy. We liked the beautiful flowers and landscaping around the apartment and on the deck. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. It felt like home away from home.

Recommended for:Age 55+, sightseeing.

Just stayed for 5 Days was a great deal tried to trade into Monterey with RCI no go, this was a great place to stay - I would recommend this unit to anyone, if you want to see Monterey this is the place for you, Thanks again Clar you and your husband was great.

Large, beautiful 2 bedroom guest apt., on the hill overlooking Monterey Bay with a deck is very clean, quiet with a private entrance and beautiful bay views from the living room, kitchen bedroom windows. Owner is on call for any guest requests at any time, and the guest apt. is thoroughly cleaned before any guests arrive by owner to save guests any cleaning fees.

Relaxing Getaway

We had a very lovely relaxing stay in this apartment. It was very centrally located, just minutes from downtown. The unit was clean and the onsite owners were very helpful with recommending activities to do and places to eat. The view from the deck was gorgeous, and I wish we had more time to just sit out there and relax. Relaxing inside was very cozy in front of the beautiful fireplace. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Comfortable and conveniently located apartment

The location of this property was excellent. The owners were very helpful and kind. The space was wonderful; a daylight basement with the owners living above. The only faults we found were in the cleanliness of the property and the dishes, etc. provided in the kitchen. You will notice there is no cleaning fee. We learned a cleaning fee is not so bad if it means there is deep cleaning done regularly.

My sister and I stayed with our parents for 2 nights. Convenient location for activities in Monterey and Carmel and it was nice to have the 17 mile drive included. A car is necessary for activities as it is on the hill overlooking Monterey Bay. Beautiful deck and view. My only recommendation would be to provide nicer towels.

Our family of five was very happy to spend a few days here. We had plenty of room and I only wish that we had had more time to relax and enjoy the view from the large, covered deck. We were busy most days seeing all there is to see within just an hour either direction from this property, and the hosts were incredibly helpful with suggestions for things that we would all enjoy, even the 6 yr old - there is an excellent park close by. We would highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment was very cozy, I loved the fireplace in the living room. The views of the ocean off of the patio are breath taking. The owners are extremely nice and very helpful. It was a nice plus to have the 17 mile drive included. We will definitely be back!!

We just returned today from a 4 night stay, and had a wonderful time. Our family of 5 (3 kids ages 4,6,8) was very comfortable here. Our hosts were lovely and accommodating. The playground, aquarium and library are all a short drive away. Whole Foods Market is also nearby, and we prepared most of our meals at home. Would absolutely stay here again!

Comfortable and convenient apartment in Monterey

We spent the weekend here with our adult daughter (who lives in SF) in March. The space is roomy and comfortable with a wonderful view of the bay from a lovely deck. We especially liked the living room area with its charming fireplace. We think a car is necessary but the distance to sights is very short. Our favorite activity was the drive through Pebble Beach (on Tsunami watch day!) but we also went to the first class aquarium and spent a few hours in Carmel. Overall, this apartment is a good deal in a quiet, private setting and we would gladly stay here again.

Comfortable, Affordable, Convenient... Perfect

We stayed here for my dad's 62nd birthday. With 4 adults we were completely comfortable. The owners were very accommodating. They did a run through with us on the day of arrival, made suggestions for activities and dining, and then made sure we knew we could go to them with any questions, but stayed out of our way. The house was just up the hill from town, with a spectacular view. (I wouldn't plan on walking to town unless you want to hike back home) The fire place made the living room a cozy place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. I would definitely stay here again, so much better than a hotel! My suggestions for activities are: Aquarium (worth the cost), Cannery Row, Eat Fresh Sea Food, and Bike riding along the coastal path

This spacious and clean apartment was perfect for my family of 4 (two boys 3 and 4 yrs old) plus grandma The apt is spacious yet very cozy. The view from the wonderfully decorated and private terrace is amazing! The hosts are very helpful and we appreciated that as our GPS let us down a few times. I would definitely recommend this apartment and will definitely be back.

Great location -minutes from Monterey and Carmel and great private parking included. Hosts were great and provided wonderful information on the area - both before and during our stay. We especially appreciated access to 17 Mile Drive/Pebble Beach during the Pebble Beach Concourse. View is gorgeous and amenities very nice. It is evident that the home is well cared for. We will stay here again!

We recently stayed 2 nights here over spring break 2010. This place was a real gem in the Monterey area. The rental is a live-in apartment in the owner's house with 2 bedrooms, full kitchen and bath and was perfect for our family of 4. The house itself is in a very quiet neighborhood and is conveniently located with respect to accessing downtown Monterey, Pebble Beach and Hwy 1. There is also a large shopping area only a few blocks away. The deck on the house has a great view and is a good place to spend the early morning taking in the Pacific breeze and the morning sun! The owners were extremely friendly and made every effort to make us feel comfortable. They offer gate access to the famed 17 mile drive in Pebble Beach. Again, a great place!

This was a wonderful place to stay in. I booked it at the very last minute, and they were so helpful, and got back to me so quickly, we were able to go down there and enjoy ourselves for the weekend. I will 100% stay there again, and would recommend people to stay there as well. They were very helpful in anything we needed, and they gave us info we didn't even asked for, and we did what they suggested and it was GREAT!!! Thank you both so very much. What a wonderful view from this cozy getaway perched on a hillside looking out at Monterey Bay. The deck outside the apartment is like another huge room... ideal for children who don't like being cooped up inside. The neighborhood is very private and quiet, so you feel very safe. Location is great in that Monterey and Carmel are minutes in either direction.

After a disappointing rental in San Francisco we were thrilled to pull up to this beautiful and peaceful home. Everything was spotless..lovely bed linens, full kitchen, and a relaxing family room to come back to after full days of hiking and sightseeing. Our hosts were the absolute best. From binoculars to view the marine life, exact directions to all landmarks, to the complimentary entry to Pebble Beach, we could not have asked for more. They did all they possibly could to make our trip wonderful (even returning by mail shoes that we had left behind!). My family and I cannot wait to return to Monterey to explore it more fully and we will definitely be staying here!

Simply charming! My friends and I were there to run the Big Sur marathon and we couldn’t have found a better place to stay. It’s spacious, impeccably clean and the views from the terrace are wonderful. It’s close to the start line and to everything that Monterey has to offer. This is a wonderful apartment set on a hill overlooking Monterey Bay. It is very spacious (like a house) and the beds are a dream to sleep in. It is spotlessly clean with lovely furnishings and amazing views and a large terrace area. What I loved the most was how quiet it was. Not a sound was heard at night and I noticed while in Monterey many of it's motels are located along a very busy main road. This place is a real gem and the owners are just lovely!!

Great apartment, beautifully furnished with walls decorated with Chuck’s very own colorful art. Definitely our style. Fantastic location. Great tips and suggestions and local insight. All in all, infinitely better and more personal than any hotel. The Monterey aquarium should not be missed particularly the tuna feeding. Unbelievable golfing destination. We are very keen to get back for more.

What a great location and view! We were in Monterey for the Jazz Festival and also checked out the Aquarium, the 17 Mile Drive, and Big Sur. Beautiful area and the house was the perfect spot to see it all from. The view from the deck is spectacular, seeing all of Monterey and Sand City! The hosts were very welcoming and pleasant, the beds comfy, the FIREPLACE cozy, and overall a great choice for avoiding hotels. Would stay again.

Our family stayed here for three nights in late July. Far superior to a hotel room as we could let the kids go to bed and unwind after touring. The property is close to everything - we did it all! 17 mile drive, aquarium, wharf, carmel, Big Sur, Point Lobos and Capitola on the way. Great vacation spot!

We just returned from 10 wonderful days in California, the first 5 of which were spent in this warm, wonderful, cozy place! It was our first time in a vacation rental rather than a hotel and I tell you we couldn't have chosen a better place. The view from the deck was beautiful day and night. We stayed here with our two young children (3.5 & 1.5 years old) in May 2008. The apartment is large, very quiet, and very conveniently located to activities that we drove to in both Carmel and Monterey. The view is pleasant and the location is peaceful. It was a much better value than any hotel room we could have secured. The owners are pleasant, helpful, and completely non-obtrusive. Tourist brochures were plentiful in the apartment, and that was very helpful. We spent most of our time at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and walking along the coast line there. We also spent a day hiking and enjoying the sea life at Point Lobos. For Mother's Day, we went to the Carmel Mission and then to La Playa Hotel for brunch (both in Carmel). There is no shortage of activities in the area! The only down-side was regarding the lack of "walkability" of the location... we generally prefer to walk to the tourist attractions. We did walk to the nearby mall a couple of times for coffee and dinner and even the Whole Foods grocery (LOVE that place!), but it was not the most pleasant walking. Oh, the "Layers" Cake shop nearby has pastries and espresso, too... yum. Overall, we had a great time and could have easily spent two or three times longer there! Thanks!

We stayed at this property while attending the Big Sur International Marathon. The three of us wanted something different than the standard hotel room. We were so pleased with our choice. Roomy and comfortable, wonderful large deck with lovely view, complete kitchen, ideal location AND helpful friendly hosts! Highly recommend the 17 mile drive. Perfect!
