Location: Biscay Pond, Mid-Coast & Islands, Maine, USA (Near Damariscotta, Bristol, Round Pond, Pemaquid Area)

Accommodations:  Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 1 Bath (Sleeps 4)

Camp Biscay is located next to the lake, with a nice level yard to the lake. You can enjoy sunsets from the deck, or picnics next to the water on our new 12-foot picnic table. You find a BBQ, screened room, and fire pit for your enjoyment. Also, a spacious dock is ideal for diving off the end, boating (bring your own, or use one of ours), swimming or sunning. Biscay Pond is actually a 3 mile long, very clean, 60 foot deep lake. It has water access to several lakes and rivers for canoe and kayakers. Biscay offers a healthy supply of brown trout and small mouth bass for the fisherman. The lake is quiet with only an occasional jetski, and being one of 3 camps on the road, it is a quiet location.

Area attractions include: Within 10-15 minutes, the quaint fishing villages of Round Pond and New Harbor; Pemaquid Point's lighthouse, museum, fort, beach, and ferry to Monheghan and whale watches; Damariscotta's restaurants, pubs, and shopping. The nightlife and shopping of Boothbay is about an half hour away. The outlet stores of Freeport or shopping in Rockland is 45 minutes away. Camden and Portland are an hour.

    • My siblings and I sent my parents to Camp Biscay for their 40th anniversary, and they absolutely loved it. Peaceful, serene, clean, and quiet, it was everything they were looking for in a vacation. The owners were communicative, friendly, and accommodating. October is the time to be there, too - the pictures of foliage my parents brought back were breathtaking. My wife and I are already contemplating a trip up there for ourselves sometime soon. Thank you!!

From our Guest Book: Comments Thanks again- we LOVE this place. We’ll be back next fall barring any unforeseen circumstances. This is our little ‘Eden’ – our patch of ‘Heaven on Earth’. Thanks for providing a great place to come back to again and again. Homeowner Comments: They are planning another trip this year. We appreciate their repeat business immensely. It makes us so happy to share our camp with such a nice family, and for them to enjoy it so much.

From our Guest Book: Could have done without the mosquitoes, but what can you do? We’ll be back – October 2005! With a baby by then! Thanks again – still the best accommodations we’ve found anywhere!

From our Guest Book: Thank-you so much. These have been our best accommodation in all the years we’ve come to Maine! Especially enjoyed the extra perk of the boat and hammock. (Our son) cried when we started packing up to leave! We will be back!

From our Guest Book: Favorite Moments: Fishing was excellent and exciting! The Big One got away on Thursday, but caught him on Friday. (Wife) caught more fish than me. Loons at night, classical music and the wood stove. Saturday night around six o’clock we were fishing the other side between the large rock (peninsula) we heard a large bear come down a tree, breaking branches on the way down, we then heard him shake himself “like a dog that just came out of the water to dry himself off” but very loud. We then decided to get away so we paddled back over to this side of the pond. An exciting way to spend out last night in Maine. Thank you for sharing your cabin!! We had a great time! Homeowner Comments: The ‘wood stove’ is actually a gas fired stove that looks very much like a wood stove with the realistic burning wood / flames visible. Also, I hadn’t heard of bears in this area before, but I guess you never know.

From our Guest Book: How they traveled: 1 car, 1 jeep towing our boat and a canoe on top. What they did: Lots of fishing, canoeing, boating, tubing, reading, playing games. People they met: (Our Daughter) enjoys playing with (Neighbor’s Daughter) next door. Homeowner Comments: This family has been coming to Camp Biscay each year from 2002 through 2004, and has booked for 2005. Each year, ‘Mom’ leaves us a sweet note about the camp. They are a delightful family and we are so happy they have chosen our spot to return to year after year. We feel very fortunate.

From our Guest Book: My advise to you = fish over by the rock on the other side of the lake, in the boat, my dad caught a 17 incher. Over by the dock we caught nothing. P.S. Loved the traced catch of the year with dates back to 1957 on the wooden wall by the doorway!
