This property is very versatile! Designed as four separate units or as one complete home. Each unit has a private entrance and exterior space. Enjoy your Acton experience as a single traveller or with family and friends. Whatever the number of guests, Joan and Rick's Fitzhugh-Beers House will serve you well!
The property is located half a mile from the center of town, situated high on Great Hill, the second highest spot in Acton! There are numerous shops, stores and restaurants close by, also a Jazz Café!
If you like to cook some of our units have private kitchens in the unit and are fully stocked with all the kitchen gadgets. Some of our units have access to a Shared Kitchen, so please ask! There are Farmers Markets where you can pick up some fresh produce and play chef. If you are here on an extended stay you are welcome to plant your own garden up in our garden on the hill!
Just a five minute walk and you can take the train to Boston and beyond! If you arrive by train, you don't need to rent a car, you can walk to the property! (The stores are also within walking distance). The Childrens Discovery Museum is also within walking distance, there are two museums, one for toddlers and one for the older kids.
We have maintained the property keeping the history alive, old mahogany stained woodwork, most of the windows are six feet high and three feet wide, some stained glass windows, pocket doors, wide pine floors, working fireplaces and wood stoves. Some units have nine foot ceilings and built in cabinets. There is a huge front porch to watch the sun go down or enjoy a rainy day!
There is an inground alterdina shaped pool for all guests to enjoy, it is usually open by April 15th and usually closes when the leaves start falling, around October 1st! Leaves start changing color in September, usually yellow, then later September to orange, then October to brilliant reds.
We have many units, accommodating parties of one to twenty one!
If you are looking for a large party the earlier you book the better your chance of getting what you need! If your family is planning a wedding, you can have an intimate wedding up on the hill for up to 40 guests! Please ask about catering!
If you are attending the Boston Marathon, you can take the train to the Meeting area where the busses take you to the starting point. When you are finished, you can take the train back to the house!
If you are travelling with children we have an assortment of child appliances! Portacribs, real cribs etc, let us know your needs when you make your reservation.

Year Purchased: 1968
We have been renting out our Antique Victorian Home since 1968 and for our 40th Anniversary we celebrated by having three ponds put in the yard! I was born in England and Rick was born in Canada! We met in California and settled in New England, we just love it here! Well, maybe except for Winter! Please call us personally and we can give you any information that you need for your stay in Acton Massachusetts! We have several units, that sleep one to twenty one! Hope to see you soon! The Unique Benefits of this House
This grand old Victorian is situated high on a hill that abutts conservation land, there are walking trails that you can take. The train that goes to Boston and all the towns along the route is just a five minute walk down the road. You can get to the house on public transportation and visit historic Concord on the train also. There is an inground pool in the back yard with great views of the natural hillside. There is a great Country Kitchen with a Pantry full of equipment so you can cook for your family and friends! There is a dishwasher, a gas stove, an island to prepare on, and a great collection of China.
