Accommodations: One story house, Master Bedroom , 2 Additional Bedrooms, Den with daybed,& 2 Full Bathrooms
Every once in in a while, in travel, you come upon a certain setting, a point of reference, instantly familiar to you, a vision that you’ve been to before, though you don’t exactly know when. Within the combined magic of the Islands of Hawaii, the Pacific Ocean, and a very special house, such a place exists. On the southwest shores of Oahu, hidden in old Ewa Beach is "Hale Kai Lani".
In a house with a history that dates back to the territorial days, it has literally preserved time within it’s floors and walls. As you look out the windows toward an ocean view, the sound of water constantly coming to shore hypnotizes you, gradually slowing down the world around you.
Inside "Hale Kai Lani" the interior reflects a casual kama‘aina (local) image of "Old Hawaii". Hardwood floors accentuate the thoughtfully selected furnishings that enhance your vision of another time. The open, airy layout of the house contributes to an endless feeling of room to unwind and relax. The living room contains a large television with digital cable service, a DVD player and an AM/FM.
Stereo CD player. Available throughout the house is digital phone service with unlimited long distance calling and Hi-Speed Cable internet access. The master bedroom suite contains a comfortable queen size bed, a couch and an additional television. The room has an air conditioner available, but you just may want to open the windows and utilize the large ceiling fans available in every room. Just down the hall from the master bedroom are two more large comfortable bedrooms, with an available daybed in the den. The house features a large fully stocked kitchen, with an adjacent breakfast bar and dining area. The kitchen is immediately connected to a covered outdoor lanai that faces the back yard, where you can relax after dining, while listening to the soothing sounds of the Pacific Ocean.
The outdoor area features a large front lawn, fully enclosed by a lava rock wall, spacious enough for a family game of touch football. The rear of the house is also fully enclosed with a privacy fence, outdoor tables and chairs, a gas Bar-B-Que grill, and full laundry facilities on the side of the yard.
Five minutes away from your location is a series of shopping centers featuring grocery stores, drug stores, movie rentals, dry cleaning and laundry services, fast food and a multitude of local and ethnic restaurants for your dining pleasure. Also nearby are six golf courses, tennis courts, several local parks, and even a historic train ride.
Just a convenient commute away are more attractions for your viewing, dining, and shopping pleasure. For instance, a multiplex movie theatre in nearby Kapolei, the Waikele Outlet Shopping Center, featuring brand name designer wear at a significant discount. The Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park is sure to be a big hit with the children. There is also the USS Missouri, the USS Arizona Memorial, historic Pearl Harbor and the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet. The North Shore is approximately 30 minutes away from your location, with world famous surf beaches, the Macadamia Nut Farm, the Dole Plantation, the Polynesian Cultural Center, the Wyland Art gallery, and several other unique shops and restaurants .
At “Hale Kai Lani” we want you to immediately feel at home,… almost as if you’d never left your own house. It has the feel of a summer beach house in the American northeast, maybe even the type of house that a Ralph Lauren photo shoot would take place in, where tousle-haired children run endlessly in and out of doors called after by their mothers. Experience the local flavor of this Island life, as it is lived on a daily basis in a beach community. Enjoy the rich history of the former plantation community that was Ewa Beach, Hawaii. As you attend all of the local attractions and venues available, please try to remember that you are on vacation, and doing absolutely nothing is also just fine.

We truely enjoyed staying at your home; it was well stocked with everything we might have needed. Laurie was amazing. She was great to talk to and gave us suggestions of things to do and see. We arrived late at night and the basket of fruit and coffee was appreciated along with the haupia pie a couple of days later (my son's new favorite pie). We will definately see you on our next visit to Hawaii. Mahlo

Thank you Laurie, Danielle and Darla. It was a great place to start our Hawaii dream. The location was great for exploring the Island and then going home for some relaxing moments on the lanai, and not to forget the BBQ,s. Enjoyed the walks on beach and some interesting convsations with Laurie. Such a special person. The house is very spacious and well equiped and you feel like home as soon as you walk in. It made us feel as like natives. The welcoming Fruit, chocolate and Coffee. We really felt like real neighbors. Wished we could have stayed longer, but we hope to come back soon. Thanks a bunch for sharing your home with us David, Francine, Kilian and Valerie

Six of us stayed for a two week visit. The location was good but wished it was alittle closer to the Waikiki. It was so good to have breakfast and supper at the house. That saved us alot of money and the lanai was the perfect place to cool off with drinks. Ate most meals there also. Enjoyed watching the geckos catch their meal every night. Even named them. Haha. The free long distance was great. Well worth it for me as I called home everyday. I would rent this property again when returning to Hawaii.

We just spent 13 days here. The house is well appointed, has lots of space. There were 6 in our party. On atrial, the house was open, with a huge fresh fruit platter awaiting! The bedrooms are very comfy and the decor is very Hawaiian with lovely pictures all around. It's so close to the beach and Laurie, the owner, is located next door in case of any problems. I would recommend this place for groups and families, but you'll need a car to get about. Ewa beach road has a mix of old Hawaiian homes and some new multi million dollar homes right on the beach. We loved mixing with the locals who lived there. Thanks Darla and Laurie ( and team!). We will be back!

Thank you Laurie/Darla, we had a great stay at the beach house. We were a family of 6 and had lots of room, especially enjoyed happy hour on the back porch. Could hear the waves rolling in and went to the beach every day with a nice view of Waikiki and Diamondhead in the distance. The house had every amenity one could ask for and the area was nice to walk around (golf course just down the road). Easy to access other points on the island and you are not crammed in with tourists in this quiet area. Thanks to others for their reviews, it made me confident in my accomodation selection and made my rental a great experience.

We really enjoyed our stay in your beautiful home-The beach was awesome-went down daily, especially at sunrise and sunset. Incredible! It is hard to leave such a paradise and go home to snow and low temperatures but we will have fond memories to take with us and warm us through the chilly winter in Idaho! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality and sharing of your Hawaiian home- We loved it!

Tonight is our last night in Paradise! We really enjoyed our stay at your lovely beach house. We celebrated my birthday here on the 1st & My husband and I 26th wedding anniversary on the 3rd. My daughter & her fiance married in Waikiki on the beach on the 3rd as well. It was a lovely ceremony. We visited the North Shore where my son surfed 10 ft. waves(scarey)! We live in South Texas close to Mexico and we enjoy the delicious seafood-but NOTHING compares to Oahu!! Come visit us Laurie!!

We loved our time in this wonderful beach house. After leaving a cold winter in Canada, was wonderful to be able to go out to sunshine, ocean and sand everyday. Laurie is amazing. She gave us great ideas for places to go. We loved the Hau Tree Restaurant. Well appointed -well stocked home. We appreciated the gift basket. We all love the fruit of Hawaii. Thanks so much for letting us enjoy your wonderful beach house! Laurie & Darla, you both made our reunion trip organized, dealing with all the details, so little 10 month old Louis could have a great time as we did. Your home was such a welcoming and homey atmosphere that the Aussies and we Canadians felt right at home. Thanks Laurie for the great tips about places to see and do around the island. Waikiki Friday at Dukes was the best and making us aware of the shrimp trucks on the North Shore was great. Thanks too for the wonderfully stocked kitchen, as we shared many great meals together and caught up with our far away family. We highly recommend your beach house to all our friends back in Canada. We loved it here & the whole island experience. Not looking forward to pulling on the socks & shoes and returning to winter up north. Mahalo!
