Our direct oceanfront, extensively remodeled condo is one of the nicest in the St. Augustine Ocean and Racquet Resort, and we just continue to improve it! In-condo WiFi, comfy furniture and beds. We updated our bathrooms yet again (2/2011) with a glassed-in shower in the master bath and a deep-soaking tub in the guest bath.
This ground-floor, direct oceanfront unit is extremely private, with very little foot traffic in front of back patio. The view is of marsh and dunes with the ocean beyond. Our dunes offer a protective offer a protective buffer and a peaceful view as well. The common area between our patio and the dunes is carefully maintained by the complex. It's literally only steps to boardwalk and the ocean (2 minute walk, max) in a complex that's gated and secure. Our ground floor location affords easy access to the beach, and makes loading and unloading supplies a breeze -- no steps or elevators to worry about. Approximately 1/2 mile to Publix plaza (supermarket, salons, restaurants, etc); we are close to all beach restaurants and only 10-15 minutes to the historic city sites in Old St. Augustine.
Our unit features 16 x 16 tiled floors throughout,stainless steel appliances,stylish and comfortable furniture, updated vanities in bathrooms with solid-surface countertops and tumbled marble countertops in kitchen. Sleeps six total, with newer Sealy pillowtop queen bed in master, two newer Sealy plush twin beds in second bedroom, and a sofa bed in the living room.
St. Augustine Beach is maintained by the city and always pristine, unlike some other areas nearby. Pride of ownership is clear throughout the complex. We ask only that guests treat our unit as they would their own property, gently and with care, as we have. We'd love to have you as our guests! Living just two hours away, we get over a lot to check on things and make sure all is well and everything is spotless and in good repair. The location and layout of the condo far exceeded our expectations. This condo offers top notch amenities, a fully equipped kitchen, spacious rooms and comfy beds. The condo was very clean and well maintained. The condo is right next to the beach and has a lovely patio area to relax in. There are many good restaurants nearby and 2 food markets. We recommend this oceanfront beauty!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

We loved your condo, it was everything that was promised and more. We new other people in the complex and spent time in other units and was struck at how much our condo was updated in comparison. We thought about strapping the mattress on the roof of our car lol, you can tell the owners use this place, very well stocked and furnished. The only disappointment is the same week next year is already booked. This was my third time staying in the condo and plan to return next year. I have stayed in May, Sept and October and beach is not crowded. Lots of things to do in St Augustine when you need a break from the beach. There are two grocery stores very close. Pictures and description are very accurate. Sarah and Chad are very easy to work with by phone or email. A/C quit working on the first trip, called Sarah and it was fixed that day. We have had anywhere from 3 to 6 adults staying in the condo without a problem. Have always enjoyed sitting on the patio and listening to the ocean waves. This is the best vacation condo in the St Augustine area. I have stayed there twice and loved every minute. The view is lovely. The beach a few steps away. The kitchen is fully stocked. Beautifully decorated by the owners. Cozy, comfy, relaxing and quiet. This was a great condo!..Right on the beach with lots of ammentities. Many updates, clean, remodeled nicely and extremely quiet and comfortable. Recommend to all that enjoy a nice comfortable quiet vacation. Plenty of good resataurants in the area and grocery store within walking distance. If you are a golfer, great courses 20-30 minutes away. Weather was perfect in late October. Highly recommend this condo. Thanks for a great stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We stayed at Sarah and Chad's last year in June and absolutely loved everything about it!! Well this time we stayed the first week in October, and other than a few bumps in the weather towards the end of the week, we loved it just as much. The convenience, cleanliness, peacefullness, and beauty of this place was just what we needed. This time we didn't do all the big tourist places, but some smaller state parks within a hour drive. At a few great places, such as the Sea Oatts Cafe (just down the road for breakfast) and Harry's in old town. If you are looking for realxation, cleanliness, and a beautiful beach then this is the place to stay!!! Thanks again Sarah!!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

I have stayed in this condo twice and have loved every second. This condo is beautifully maintained and very comfortable! I only wish that I could have stayed longer. We were impressed as soon as we walked in the door! The condo is beautiful, clean, and spacious. We brought our 3 kids with us and everyone had a wonderful time. We loved being just steps away from the beach and within walking distance of great restaraunts and Publix. Since we are local, we visit St. Augustine many times each year and we never run out of fun things to do. I saved a ton of money making many of our meals in the condo (and all of the pans and dishes were already there!). The beds were very comfortable and the beautiful upgrades and location of this condo made for a wonderful family vacation for us. We cannot wait to visit again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: "Cooking in" is something we ourselves do more often than not when we are there. Although there are many terrific places very close by to visit for tasty meals out, it's always nice to have options! Located just a half-mile or so south of the condo, Publix is a definite advantage for picking up great fresh seafood or whatever else you might need, whether you are a "party of one" or a family of several.

About the owner: My husband, Chad, and I treasure our condo at St. Augustine Beach. It's hard for us to believe we have owned it now for eight years, but each year brings new memories as our family grows. We've been at the beach when it's sunny, when its hotter than Hades, when it's cool and when it's flat out cold; we've been when it's windy and rainy and even a little flooded after a heavy storm...but we can tell you honestly that for us, there is never a bad day at the beach. Therefore, whenever we can get away from our jobs, we drive over from our home in Gainesville for as much restoration and renewal as our schedules will allow. The beach is so good for that! Our condo has everything you should need and more to feel comfortable and at home, including WiFi, cable TV, DVD player and plenty of good books to read. Our VRBO business has been great and we now see people year after year who experience the beauty of our place and 'our beach' and make plans to come back. Please keep us in mind as you're considering where to take your next vacation. We value your time, your business and your support and it genuinely makes us feel good to be able to share this part of the world with others who are 'locals' or out-of-towners experiencing Florida for the first time. Why the Owner Chose Ocean Racquet Club:
I've lived in Florida all my life and have always loved the beach. My husband, a native Utahan, has also lived in this state for many years. We like St. Augustine because of its proximity to Gainesville, which allows us the opportunity to visit often. We looked at several condos in the area when we decided to buy but were quickly sold on the Ocean & Racquet Resort, which is well-run, secure and structurally sound. It's an older complex than some on the beach but was very well built and continues to be extremely well maintained. The location is also ideal, being less than a mile from the Publix shopping plaza and many nearby restaurants, as well as only a 10-15 minute drive to the old city and its many attractions.

The old city of St. Augustine....never gets old! We like the security and family-friendliness of our condo community, St. Augustine Ocean & Racquet Resort; the closeness of our particular unit to the beach; and the privacy and convenience of our ground floor unit. We have seen the environment change many times as the dunes rise and fall, and our view is never the same from month to month. We like observing the environmental changes and the wildlife we see in the dunes, and the fact that St. Augustine Beach has managed to retain a natural beauty and purity, unlike many of the south Florida beaches that have become more commercialized.
