Our house is a beautiful, clean, charming, rustic, well maintained, quiet 1800’s classic farmhouse with wide plank floors. There are 3 bedrooms which comfortably sleep 6 (2 queen beds, 2 single day beds) with adequate room for air mattresses if needed for additional 2 guests. There are 2 baths (one shower/bath, one claw foot bath tub).
House has large cooks kitchen and dining area furnished with mix of country and mid-century danish modern furniture, very warm and comfortable. Lots of art and country bric-a-brac. Owner's house is 200 feet in rear, with privacy enough for both houses.
We are located in the hamlet of Cornwallville in Greene County, an easy 2 ½ hour drive from downtown Manhattan, with well maintained roads free from traffic. Hudson is an easy drive 25 minutes east from us, as is the Hudson River, Windham ski area is 15 minutes west.
Well maintained property with historic touches, bluestone walkway and patio, adjacent large gardens,stream and field. House is within 14 private acres and bordered by adjacent wooded forest, very private.
Our hamlet has a very pleasant mix of people, both local and city people. Bedding, kitchen utensils, outdoor grill available. Basic sheeting and blankets available for daily and weekly guests. Utilities included (fans, no a.c.), local phone free. Available for viewing on weekends as arranged. Mapquest/google earth to Strong Road, Cornwallville for directions! |
