From our condo #94 on the second floor of Building 16 you look out over the manicured landscape with a view of the ocean beyond. The tropical paradise below can be enjoyed from the lanai (balcony) over a morning cup of coffee or watching the sunset in the evening. If you are familiar with the plantation, you know that this location is a blend of easy access and great views.
You will feel comfortable and right at home in this recently remodeled and nicely furnished vacation home. The light and comfortable living, dining and kitchen area are open to each other, with a large sliding glass door and plantation shutters that take you out onto the furnished lanai (balcony). This one bedroom, one bath condo includes a king-size bed in the bedroom and newer, quality queen-size sofa sleeper in the living area. There is a full bath with shower and tub, and separate vanity area.
This condo was recently updated with granite countertops in the kitchen and bath, new tub and travertine surround, and new appliances in the kitchen. Upscale furnishings were installed throughout the condo in October, 2007.
We also own condo #118 on the second floor of Building 18 (VRBO #6296). This condo is similar to #94 in that it enjoys a view of the plantation landscaping and ocean beyond. Larger groups can rent both condos #94 and #118, that are proximate to each other in Buildings 16 and 18.
Amenities: include a 26 inch LCD TV with cable, DVD player, stereo and free high-speed internet access. In addition, this condo is one of a very few that include a washer/dryer combo. This eliminates trips to the on-site coin-operated laundry facility, and along with easy access from the parking area behind the building makes this a great choice for families with children. We provide a portable crib, booster seat and sand toys. Barbeques are provided near the condo for guest use.
Kiahuna Plantation: The plantation is the premier Kauai beachfront rental property in beautiful Poipu. The plantation-style units are located on 35 acres of manicured lawns and gardens that bring to life the term "Garden Island" that is used to refer to Kauai. Poipu Beach is on the sunny side of the island and enjoys warm sunny days and gentle tropical breezes.
Kiahuna Plantation is the only beachfront resort in Poipu. The white sand beach, backed by green lawns, palm trees and tropical gardens is perfect to relax or enjoy swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding or surfing. Towels and lounging chairs are freely provided to guests at the beach-side activity hut. You will experience why Poipu beach has been rated the best beach in the world by USA Today.
Nearby Amenities: The Kiahuna Swim and Tennis Club provide free tennis and a new swimming pool a short distance away. The pool includes a waterfall, water slide and shallow sandy beach area for kids to play. Restaurants and shopping area are just across the road, with a fine restaurant on site at the plantation. The nearby Kiahuna Golf Course is an excellent 18 hole course with exceptional views.
Island Activities: The white sand beach at the plantation is a great location for swimming, snorkeling, boogie boarding or surfing. Nearby is Poipu State Park, considered one of the safest spots for snorkeling or for children to play. Spouting Horn is a short drive away, as is the small town of Koloa with grocery store, shops and restaurants that have the feel of rural Hawaii. Enjoy a drive up Waimea Canyon the colorful "Grand Canyon of the Pacific" or drive up to the end of the road and be amazed at the beauty of the Na Pali coast from above. Other options include exploring the Na Pali coast by tour boat or enjoying a bird’s eye view of the "Garden Island" by helicopter. That is an experience you won’t soon forget!

Welcoming chek-in; the owners were informative and very pleasant; booking was simple and straightforward. This 2nd floor condo is convenient-parking is directly below the entry. A helper was sent from the office on arrival to carry our luggage. We walked to restaurants, along the beach/waterfront streets and roads, hiked to other beaches, etc. There are two fun shopping centers with good restaurants within 1 - 1.5 miles.The restaurants we chose for holiday dinners, Plantation Gardens and Red Salt, were handy--just "next door", though we didn't know this when reserving online before our trip. This is a beautiful property and we especially enjoyed the gorgeous lawn and grounds. The gratis short chairs and Turkish towels that can be checked out are a neat perc. Guests like to gather here about 5 PM to watch the sunset with drinks in hand. The furnishings are tasteful and comfortable with one exception--the bed. It was much too soft and mushy for us, who like a firm mattress. If that's your preference, be advised. There seemed to be about 3 layers of quilting to sleep on, and when my husband rolled over the bottom sheet came loose. Also, the bed took up about 95% of the room floor space leaving a tight passage between the bed and dresser, so we stubbed our toes and shins often in the beginning on the large protruding bedpost. After a couple of days, I "trained" myself to avoid it, but my husband with poor vision really was bothered by this for much of our 2-week stay. The room's light switches were inconvenient--not near the door, so it was necessary to walk between the bed and dresser to get to them. Another problem with the bedroom was the tricky cooling system. There was no glass on the exterior wall; the "window" was screened with wide louvers which we opened the first night so there was fresh air without visual exposure. But when the next-door occupants passed by while we were still in bed, we felt a significant lack of privacy. After that we kept those louvers shut, used the overhead fan and opened the louvers on the interior bedroom wall and on the exterior living room wall. It was not as comfortable as a fresh air cross-breeze, but met our needs for cooler air at night. This probably controlled the morning rooster noise too--they didn't bother us after the first morning. For our 14-day stay the extra cost of 3 laundry changes and cleanings seemed excessive. I certainly don't change our bed or clean that often.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

Thank you very much for letting us use your wonderful condo here on the incredible island of Kauai. We have been to Oahu, Maui and Hawaii, and this is definitely our favorite. We had a wonderful time relaxing and just being together, away from the pressures of everyday life. The weathe was beautiful everyday. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. We'll be back again.

Condo 94 was a great place for our family of 3. We spent quite a bit of time in the condo due to our 18 month old's naps. How awesome that we had to do minimal baby proofing. It was so nice to stay close to the beach, relax and just enjoy each other's company. Thanks for the use of your lovely, comfortable condo.

This condo garateed the best vacations. Everything what you need, over boogie-boards, beach-umbrellas, well equiped kitchen and livingroom. We are from germany and we booked it in the internet and we was surprised how perfect everything in this condo and also in the plntation was. Very clean and we got also roomservice once what we not expected. We enyojed every day there and we would like to rent it again.
