The boys were ready to fish and the girls wanted to hit the beach. Our stay was everything we had hoped for. Needed nothing as everything was there! Thanks so much!

Our stay at The Lighthouse was awesome. We really enjoyed every minute there and did not want to leave. It was the perfect location for us. Perfect for the guys and kids. Loves the little private beach area to just sit and enjoy the beach. The inside was exactly like the pictures beautiful. Very comfortable, like being at home. We will definitely be back.

We want to thank the owners for an excellent vacation! The beach house had all the amenities anyone could ask for. It was spotlessly clean and had every convenience. The kitchen was well appointed, the bedrooms were comfortable, all the bells and whistles you can need. The view each day was spectacular, we had the great joy of watching dolphins right off the deck! It is a short drive into Galveston for shopping and hundreds of restaurants. We definitely plan to go again next year and stay longer!

Our family had a wonderful week at The Lighthouse this year. The house was clean and furnished beautifully. It was spacious and pretty sound proof too. There was more than enough room for 9 us. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. There were also several games and puzzles available for the kids. The owners really thought of everything! The house sits right on the water. We sat out on the deck for hours! It was very peaceful out there and there were several amazing sun rises. We would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and easy week at the beach.

We enjoyed our stay at the Light House tremendously. The house has everything you can think of and more. The fully stocked kitchen was WONDERFUL. The cookware and all of the appliances were top notch. The living room is large and comfortable. The upstairs loft was super for the kids! Adults could have their time to relax and the kids could play their game systems upstairs. The beds were all super comfy. You could fish right off the balcony...my son and brother in-law loved that fact! The view from the balcony was beautiful...it made you feel like you were floating in the water. There are two beaches in the area...one is a small cove about 100 yds away and the other is a large beach about 500yds away, both are within walking distance of the home. Sheryl, the owner, was wonderful to work with and she has really put a lot of thought into what makes a vacation special! We are already making plans to return next year!

July 4 - July 11, 2010...Spent a fantastic week with family at The Lighthouse. It was beyond comfortable, well furnished & super clean! We had such a marvelous week and plan to return to this cabin! Oh, and I plan to change out my cookware since using the owner's. LOVED it!! Looking forward to another stay in 2011.

My family stayed at the beach house in late June and oh my goodness, it was fantastic. Our group consisted of 2 babies, a 5 year old, and 6 adults. The house had it all...toys for the kids, tons of games for everyone, a fantastically equipped kitchen, large televisions, beautiful linens, tons of beach towels. The photos do not exaggerate, the house could not have been more comfortable. The house is definitely right on the water. The deck was wonderful and it was so relaxing to watch the birds flying by and swooping into the Gulf fishing for their next meal. Believe it or not, there are also dolphins that live in the water near the house. We saw them nearly every day during our stay. If you are a morning person, the sunrises are spectacular. I have never seen a sunrise as gorgeous as the one I saw on our first morning. There are beaches on both sides of the house. We enjoyed flying kites evening and walking the beaches looking for seashells. All in all, we loved it! We can't wait to return!

My family and friends had a great time at the Lighthouse. The upkeep of the house is beyond anything I've seen in the Galveston area so far. Everything is impressively updated, extremely clean and very well-organized, and the owner offers some amenities that other houses do not, which really assists in packing (we were very much over-packed for our trip). The view from the deck makes you feel like you are actually floating on the water - a very soothing site. The owner is also very approachable and communicates professionally, answers any questions, and is eager to make your stay fabulous. We spent a long time searching for the perfect house in which to spend our week's vacation, and I think we found it!

I was put in charge of finding a beach rental when my family decided we'd spend the long Memorial Day weekend at the beach. When I found this, it got thumbs up from everyone and we couldn't wait to stay there. When we arrived, we were so excited that it looked exactly like the pictures - but even better - it was spotless and everything was so pretty! We all commented on how we felt so at home and comfortable there. The owners really thought of every amenity and everything was top notch! There were some things that we forgot, but didn't have to worry because it was already there. We even have great memories of playing a hilarious board game that had us all rolling with laughs. We were so sad to leave - but we are getting plans together to return!

The pictures of the Lighthouse do not do it justice in my opinion-- I fell in love with the pictures and picked this beach house especially because of its inviting charm. I was delighted to find it even more warm and inviting than expected- and everything down to the sink drains and baseboards were spotlessly clean. My husband and I spent several days alone there and then brought our children, ages 4 yr and 11 mos. I couldn't imagine a more romantic setting if I tried. The gorgeous view from the wicker rocking chairs on the deck was heavenly. Although there is a beach house in very close proximity to the house on either side, the windows in the living room face only toward the ocean. We felt like we had the entire world to ourselves. We were actually able to fish while sitting on the deck and caught quite a few whiting of impressive size. The most amazing part of this house though, was the obvious care and sincere thought put into every detail in every room. The owners of this house did not overlook a single thing in considering what any vacationing family might need or want. The freezer was even stocked with margarita mix in case we forgot and there were already mugs inside-frozen and waiting to be used! Every room was beautiful and comfortable. Everything we forgot to bring was already taken care of- down to the charcoal, garlic powder, and extra beach towels. The children were thrilled to find a Wii and all attachments, tons of board games, toys, and a movie library just for them! They were able to play safely on the deck and my mind was at ease since the balcony was designed with very small openings and a latched gate separating the stairway from the deck. We hosted a dinner gathering one of the evenings there using the nautical themed serving dishes. The house comfortably held 9 of us and there were more than enough cleverly coordinated sets of dishes and utensils to make for a wonderful presentation. Each time we walked down to the beach, we were the only people for as far as we could see and the sea shell findings were never a let-down. The only thing I was unhappy about was that we had to give it back at the end of our stay. Aside from the actual property, the icing on this cake was the owner being so kind and flexible with our schedule. She went out of her way to accommodate our needs and ensure that we had the best vacation possible . And we did.
Owner response:It was our pleasure to accommodate this couple especially knowing he is in the military, was traveling back home from Iraq and only had fifteen days in the U.S. There were flight delays because of sand storms in Iraq and the volcanic ash from Iceland. He safely made it home a week later than expected and we were able to reserve him and his family a little more than a weeks stay at our home for his vacation. Wonderful family!!!!

This is a lovely house, very new and clean, and furnished to a high standard. It's well equipped, e.g. the kitchen is well stocked with good quality cookware. It was perfect for our family: spacious, and in a good location. Our kids loved being a few steps from the beach, we all enjoyed our breakfasts on the deck right above the waves, and we almost always had the beach to ourselves (this was in March/April 2010). I appreciated the design of the fence around the deck, which, unlike all the other houses we looked at, didn't have gaps that our preschoolers could fit through. Galveston is about a 20-25 minute drive away and has lots of historic buildings and restaurants. Our kids loved the Rainforest Cafe (more of an experience than an eatery); we loved Mario's Italian Seafood.

This was the perfect house for our two families. Beds are comfortable, house is equipped with just about everything you need, and it is directly on the water. There are beaches on both sides of the property - one just steps away to the west (left as you face the water). House was rebuilt at the end of 2009 and has a "new" look and feel to it.

We loved staying at the house and truly enjoyed the mornings and evenings on the deck. This is definitely a waterside home with a great view. The inside welcomes you and is decorated with lighthouses. Definitely a keeper on the vacation home list!!
