Perfect apartment in wonderful Paris

My family of four (me, my husband and two daughters ages 22 and 18) stayed in this apartment for five nights last week (May 14 - May 19). Our stay was perfect. The apartment is clean, very well maintained and looks just as it does in the pictures above. The bed in the bedroom is super comfortable and provided a great place to rest after our long days sightseeing. The upstairs loft is a perfect sleep hideaway for, I would say, kids starting around age 8 all the way up to people in their late 20's or early 30's. The bathroom is tiny but very well appointed. I did not use the kitchen for more than keeping a cold wine bottle and some cheese and chocolate in the refrigerator, but found that it was very well stocked with all of the essentials. Daniel, the owner, responded quickly and informatively to every correspondence from me before our stay. Everything was exactly as he had promised in his confirmations to us. Alla, the property manager, was very good and very cheerful in her brief dealings with us. My only critique/recommendation would be that the towels need to be replaced soon since they are getting quite worn/dingy. The apartment is well situated on Ile St, Louis, within easy walking distance to Ile de la Cite (Notre Dame, Saint-Chapelle), the Latin Quarter, the Marais area, the Louvre. There are two metro stops very close by, which will get you wherever else you want to go. There is an excellent boulangerie a block or so away on Rue St. Louis, and a cheese shop and a wine shop and a grocer. Berthillon, the famous ice cream shop is less than a block away. Amorino, the excellent gelato store is directly across the street. There are many excellent restaurants close by. I really can't say enough about this flat. After a disappointing rental experience in London in the days before we reached Paris, this apartment exceeded our expectations in every way. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to any of my friends. I can't wait to go back to Paris, and when we go back, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. Wonderful little pied-a-terre

My husband and I rented this little apartment for our honeymoon in April 2012. It was the perfect location on a quiet street on the Ile St. Louis. The transaction from beginning to ending went very smoothly. Daniel was always quick to respond with any questions we had. On "our" street there was a bakery and we had fresh croissants every morning! There also was a little supermarket to buy whatever we needed for the apartment. If you like cheese, there is a cheese shop too along with many other little shops.. Also, we were lucky to find many yummy places to eat authentic French cooking right on our street!! My husband and I highly recommend this apartment for couples visiting Paris!

Staying at this apartment was a wonderful way to experience Paris. The area is quaint, charming and centrally located to all sightseeing. It was nice to stroll around Notre Dame at night. The eateries seem to stay open a little later than usual which was very nice. The apartment is exactly like the pictures - no surprises. Beautifully decorated and very clean. You are met by a very nice lady who explains the workings of the apartment to you. I stayed alone with my 12 year old son and felt completely safe at all times. My son loved hanging out in the loft for his privacy. Overall, I loved the place and would definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed at the apartment the second week of March. We loved the location. It is the best location in Paris, right down the street from Notre Dame and Berthillon, our favorite ice cream place. The apartment was exactly as shown in the pictures and was the perfect size for us. It was clean and well furnished with everything we needed and we would highly recommend this apartment to anyone

Great Apartment!

My husband and I spent 4 nights in this fantastic little apartment on Ile St. Louis. All our communications with Daniel were answered promptly and the gentleman who met us at the apt (I don't want to destory his name) was very prompt, courteous, and extremely helpful . The apartment was clean and nicely decorated. Everything you could need is provided, even helpful books about the city! The washer/dryer combo, once we figured it out, was great and allowed us to pack a little less! The bed was comfortable and it was quiet once we closed the windows. The location was terrific, everything was close by yet you still got the cozy, quiet atmosphere the island provides. This was our first trip to Paris but I will always want to stay on this island from now on, hopefully in this same wonderful apartment!

For 4 girls having a weekend in Paris this apartment was perfect. We are all university students or recent graduates and had our sights set on an apartment that wouldn´t cost the earth or be too far away from everything that we couldn´t enjoy the area on foot. So here is to the review - - The location is brilliant. On the island of St Louis, just a 5 minute walk to the Cite d´Isle and Notre Dame. An easy walk to metro stations and with a dozen little boutiques/baker/butcher/convenience store/restaurant/cafes lining the street. That said, the street is not noisy at night because there is so little traffic. - The apartment - Gorgeous.The living room/kitchen is gorgeous and well stocked with anything you would need (stove, washer, dishwasher, fridge, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, and probably other things I´ve forgotten). There is a very high ceiling in the living room and combine that with the huge windows that open up over the street it feels quite spacious. It is small though, there is only one bedroom and the other two singles are in a loft space above with only about 3-4ft of headspace. For us it wasn´t a problem because we spent so little time up there. - My recommendation - this apartment would probably work best for a couple on a romantic retreat, a couple with 2 children or a group of travellers, like us, who are willing to compromise a little on sleeping area for the other incredible advantages.

Fantastic Apartment/ Great Location

Daniel's apartment is perfect for 2 people or a couple with a child who can sleep in the loft. The apartment's location cannot be beat! We walked everywhere. We slept great there...We are used to a king bed and this queen bed is comfortably firm and the street is quiet. There is a baker, butcher and small supermarket just a few steps away so you can have a fresh baguette and fruit every morning. My only comments/ suggestions are 1) to replace the directions that clearly are not for the the washer/dryer, 2) put a small coffee table in front of the couch, and 3) provide another blanket so that you can be warm on the couch. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay. We were there for our honeymoon and Daniel was very considerate of that and was a wonderful host to us! We will definitely be back and stay here! FANTASTIC and AUTHENTIC!!!

Loved Ile St Louis

My husband and I recently spent 5 nights in this cosy little apartment on Ile St. Louis. All our communications with Daniel were answered promptly and everything went smoothly, he was a delight to deal with. The apartment was clean and serviced all our needs. We were glad to be able to boil the jug and have tea and coffee when we want plus the big advantage was the washer/dryer which I managed to work out how to use! The Queen sized bed was very comfortable and we slept well. It was quiet once we closed the windows overlooking the street - not sure how you would go in summer though as it can get hot. We loved being in the centre of things and so close to most attractions via walking or metro. I will always want to stay on Ile St Louis from now on as it seems to have a little personality all of it's own plus it has the advantage of lots of lovely little restaurants, bakeries, cheese shops etc. The shower was tiny but we got used to it and it only added to the charm of the apartment. We would definitely return here if just the two of us were visiting but any more people and you might need a little larger apartment.

Wonderful Apartment in Outstanding Location

My husband and I stayed in the apartment for 4 nights in September. We loved it! There was ample room throughout for the 2 of us. The bathroom could have been larger, but it was typical French w/stand up shower. Comfortable bed. The kitchen was well equipped and included the combination washer/dryer which we used. The loft has twin beds and, I recommend, to be occupied by older children/teenagers who can easily climb the ladder and won't fall off once they get up there. The ceiling is low. We bought groceries at the market in the next block owned by an English speaking gentleman who was very helpful w/ restaurant recommendations, etc. Ile Saint Louis is absolutely the best location to stay in Paris! We used the Batobus, the jump on and off water bus which runs up and down the Seine and then walked from there to reach our destinations. Thank you, Daniel, for providing us with a charming apartment and for your attention to our comfort and well being. We hope to visit Paris again.

My sister and I really enjoyed this little apartment in Paris. It was a lovely spot to stay and we truly appreciated that it was renovated with such care and attention to detail. We were very impressed with the efficiency with which the space had been designed.... every inch counted. We won't hesitate to recommend it to our friends and associates as a fabulously central location to stay in Paris.

splendid retreat

Our 9 nine days in Paris were splendid at the #60 Rue apt. Our 13 yr old son loved the loft/fort up on mezzanine--gave him his own privacy. Photos provided are exact to expectations upon arrival. secure location of 2 locking front doors on street level. Street noise is evident in evenings due to great central location of the Rue. All cafes on street were excellent. tried a different one every night. Had breakfast every day in apt. Frig and dishwasher very handy. Wished I had an extra converter plug, and also had hillarious time with washer/dryer. directions provided do not appear to be for this machine--so my wash took 2 1/2 hrs, then 95 mins for damp dry. I had no idea what I instructed the machine to do!! Elevator was a godsend, after long day in city and lots of metro staircases. WiFi code provided upon arrival for use of my iTouch internet.Perfect! Limied to only 3 english TV stations on cable, and DVD player would only play french DVDs, not our english ones. We did not use the phone, since we had our own. Be sure to bring all your soaps for bathroom. none provided. Be skinny in the bathroom--but nice hot shower. We were met reliably by Alla and prompt checkout for our departure. Flowers were blooming in our window boxes, which I watered every morning. Improved air circulation on hot days by opening 2 upper windows, and purchased a large fan that we donated to the apartment for all future guests! Our goal was to have more room that hotel room, cozier and more amenities for a good value, a home-away-from-home. My priority was that it be in a safe area and have a reliable, responsive owner. Mission accomplished. The neighborhood is slendid. I seemed to see new things every time I walked 'home'. On my 'wish list', I would make the sofa a pullout couch for added flexibility and perhaps a cozy upholstered reading chair. I will return for sure to this clean, well maintained cozy spot. The owner, Daniel was very responsive to my travel woes with volcano ash airline flight cancellations in April, and was able to re-book another week without penatly. Have a croissant for me!! Perfect Setting for Two People

Our two-week stay in the apartment was excellent. It's perfect for two people and close to the metro (just across Pont Marie bridge) and all the restaurants on the l'Ile. The apartment is on the main 'rue' and from the front windows you can hear and see all the activity, which we enjoyed. When it's time to sleep, you can close the windows and go into the bedroom and not hear any noise. Daniel was extremely responsive to any of our inquiries and very easy to work with. We would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to everyone.

My 2 teenage daughters and I enjoyed our stay on rue Saint Louis. Very clean, bright apartment, great neighborhood. Only drawback was the sleeping loft--the teenagers did not mind the ladder nor low head height-no standing room! (I think they thought it was fun) We did not use the washing machine (broken) or dishwasher. Damage deposit check was returned the day day we left. No problems, landlord was very responsive & easy to work with. It was my first "Home Away" experience and I will certainly do this again.

Great apartment

I have rented apartments many times on the Ile and this apartment rates near the top. Daniel was very easy to work with and my deposit was returned within a day. Eva was very accomodating and met every need we had. For those who haven't stayed on the Ile, it is the best. This apartment is best for two people. However kids may enjoy the loft. I will stay here again when I return.

I very much enjoyed my stay here, and would return in a heartbeat. The small, clean, lovely place has everything you could need - even umbrellas and tourist guide books! Check in and out with sweet Eva was a breeze. The description of the apartment was accurate. The tiny elevator worked perfectly, a blessing as there is a 42 circular step climb to the apartment. Very small bathroom was adequate. The phone receives all calls, but you will need a phone card (purchase at the post office around the corner) to make calls outside the local area and overseas. The high alcove above, with twin mattresses, would be good only for very adventurous children or small, nimble adults with no fear of heights or tight places. The bedding in the alcove was excellent. Small master bedroom is an oasis, with big and extremely comfortable bed; ensures quiet rest. Kitchen well stocked with eating and cooking supplies, wine opener, coffee, tea, sugar, etc., etc. Washer, dryer, dishwasher, coffee maker all worked very well. The location is absolutely perfect, close to metro, great bakeries, cheese shops, wine shops, very easy walk to Notre Dame. And a left out the door, plus a left at the corner and over the bridge brings you to the metro. Two minute walk. The provided guide book on dining has some excellent restaurants close by. Choose the ones with a star, and fabulous meals await. Call a day ahead, at least, to make reservations. All in all a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

A Wonderful Location for Paris

Three adults spent a week in this apartment and loved it. The location is wonderful. Excellent bread, wine and food shops within two minutes. Great ice cream ditto. Restaurants, cafes abound. A three minute walk (if you can avoid window shopping) brings you to a view of Notre Dame. After a long day of seeing Paris, sit in the long windows and watch the street go by! The apartment is spotlessly clean and well equiped and the owner was responsive to our requests for help with the phone and tv operations. One of our group slept in the mezzanine, which is very low but cozy once you get up there. As in every spot in Paris, the street noise reverberates because of the narrowness of the street and the stone buildings. There is little vehicular traffic, so much of the noise is happy people with little sense of how tired a tourist can be--it dies down eventually. Would go back in a heart-beat!
