This was our third stay at Kaanapali Shores and we keep coming back because we like the small resort feeling and the location. This was our first stay in this unit and I have to say I was a little disappointed. The kitchen has been redone and was very nice and had everything we needed. Also, the bathroom counter tops and cabinets have been redone which were nice. However, the rest of the condo could use some updating. The master bathroom ceiling was a drop ceiling with yellowing plastic and cracks. The carpet and furniture have had some very hard use and could use some updating. But I guess the worst thing were the beds. All of the mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable. We all dreaded going to bed because we all woke up stiff in the morning and that included my 21 year old daughter and her friend. As owners of a rental condo ourselves,(not in Maui) we make sure that we have good quality mattresses on our beds. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay as we always do in Maui. The owner of the condo was easy to work with and very responsive to questions. The condo was very fairly priced and for that we were willing to overlook some of it's shortcomings. We definately will stay at Kaanapali Shores again!

Alas, mattress comfort is an extremely personal preference; this is the first time anyone complained (and did not comment to us directly). Over 95% of our guests prefer firm mattresses to overly soft ones, and many have thanked us for the comfort. We always sleep well there!

What a Great Place

The resort and Unit provided an outstanding base-camp for our 12 day family vacation in early Sept 2011. My wife and I, along with our two mid 20s daughters had an exceptional time in Maui, due in large part to the great accomodations at the condo and in the complex. Things in the unit and resort were all as advertised, the unit owners very helpful in setting things up and the property very convenient for all of us. We found the on-site Expedia consierge very helpful to set-up many excursions and activities. The loaction is perfect for access to everything you care to do on the entire island and the Beach and view from the unit and grounds at the resort are surpurb.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Wow, Wow, Wow..What a great Place and a Great Owner

We recently returned from the 8th floor condo (April 13-19, 2011). First of all, Kevin and Janai were most helpful in arranging for everything and answering all of our questions in an extremely timely manner prior to our arrival. The condo is in GREAT shape and I even was able to watch whales from the balcony. When we checked in, we noticed the toaser was not working right and we contacted Kevin and Janai and had a new toaster the next morning. This was our fourth visit to Hawaii, but only our first visit to this property and we determined that we will be staying here on all subsequent visits. The property is very well located on the beach with two pools and two hot tubs and across the street from many places to eat to include a Subway as well as a supermarket. The staff at Kaanapali shores were fantastic and the concierge service was able to book all of our excursions in a one stop shop manner. We were even going to two other islands while we were in Hawaii and they were able to book our excursions on the other islands as well. The whole experience was top notch and I couldn't recommend this place more. Definitely stay here and you will be very happy with your decision. Thank You...Thank You...Thank You...Hope to visit again real soon.

Aloha Kevin and Janai, I just wanted to thank you for renting us your condo. It was perfect for our family of four ( 2 adults and 2 young girls ). It was well stocked and very comfortable. Any necessary communication with you was timely and helpful. The entire process was seamless, and without any hiccups. It was our first time to Hawaii, and should we return, we will definitely look to rent from you again! I must also comment on Kaanapali Shores itself. Along with being a beautiful property, the staff and management were extremely pleasant and professional. We were at the complex when the tragedy in Japan took place. Kaanapali Shores management kept us well informed of the Tsunami Alert, and where and what we were to do. It was all done so very calm, and orderly. Thankfully for us, your unit is on the 8th floor, so we had minimal disturbance, as we were told we were safe to stay. Again, Thank you!! Mahalo

Our family of four (two teens) stayed here for one week and had a wonderful time. The condo had an amazing ocean view that was perfect for enjoying our morning coffee and watching the MANY whales go by! The condo was clean and had almost everything we needed to make it our home for the week....and the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The pools were great, especially the free scuba lessons in the pool each morning. My husband and son took advantage of that and went on a dive in the ocean near the resort. They saw a ton of fish, coral, and even sea turtles. My only disappointment with our stay...having to leave.

We stayed at this beautiful unit for 3 nights in early Dec. We found it very spacious & relaxing & clean. The grounds of the resort are lovely. The tourist booklets in the room were so helpful. We found some fantastic places to eat in these books. Jania was so easy to deal with . Thanks for a relaxing & memorable 3 days.

Thank you for letting us stay in your condo the underground parking was convenient especially when it rained. My immediate family doesn't all live together and this was an opportunity to get together again as a family. I will never forget it.The condo was immaculate when we got there your instructions and directions were right on and the info mags that were inside were helpful. The fact that its a condo and not a hotel room saves us money in going out to eat and the market is right across the street. I cant say enough for the place except Thank you!

This is a very well maintained and furnished condominium with a great lanai view of the Kaanapali Shores Resort grounds and some spectacular ocean sunsets. Kitchen is very well equipped with everything you need and has new appliances. Washer and dryer meant we didn't bring dirty laundry home. Beds were very comfortable. And Janai promptly responded to email requests when making the reservation and when requesting local information. We had a great time !

Myself and two girlfriends rented this great condo for a week in September. It suited our needs perfectly. The kitchen was perfect for making a snack or meal & we have some great sunset pictures from the lanai. There was plenty of room for the three of us and the resort ammenities were very nice. We spent many hours by the pool looking out at the ocean. It's also a short 15 min drive to Lahina for wonderful restaurants & shopping. I would definitely go back!

We stayed in this lovely condo for 11 days in July. We were pleasantly surprised to find it in very good condition and just as described in VRBO. Our two boys (ages 14 and 12) enjoyed their room, the pools and getting their own food at the convenient poolside restaurant. There was plenty of room to store all of our stuff. The kitchen had everything we could need and I used the washer and dryer at the end of our trip to go home with clean clothes! Working with Janai before our trip was effortless. Her instructions were precise and we had no problems at all during our stay. We visit Maui very often and we love staying in the Ka'anapali area. It was a very easy commute from the condo to anywhere we wanted to go.

My husband, I and our two teenage children stayed in this unit for almost a week in November and LOVED it! Location was great and unit was spotless. Gorgeous views from the living room and the lanai was my favorite place to have a cup of coffee in the morning....watching the sun come up over the water. Beds were very comfy and everything we needed was there...even a deck of cards and some games. Plenty of towels and washer/dryer was great to have. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!
