Escape to a tropical Balinese paradise 50 steps to the ocean on the exclusive Marina Del Rey Peninsula. Adjacent to Venice Beach, this four-level beach home getaway is furnished with original Balinese pieces, contributing to the space's overall zen-like atmosphere. The sleek architecture encompasses strong plains, sleek lines, and articulated forms to create a unique interplay of light and air. 45-foot beam wrapped in Balinese stone towers through all four levels of this tropical paradise and is the backdrop of an open skylight, which cuts through each level and is outlined with curved walls. Natural materials are employed and the combination of wood and stone with fabrics such as silk and linen contributes warmth and texture to the rooms. Embellished with beautiful original artwork from around the world, focusing on East Asia and South America.
FIRST LEVEL
The grand entrance of this four-story beach home welcomes visitors into a lavish guest suite.
This suite comes equipped with contemporary custom daybed and a plethora of silk and suede fabricated pillows sprawled about with room for additional bedding. The highlight of this floor is the back wall of sliding glass doors which disappear and reveal outdoor access to a beautiful tropical garden. The perfect rectangular shape of this space is intercepted with a beautiful curve of what makes up the first floor lavatory, all-embraced with original glass mosaics from Italy, Turkish limestone, exotic Japanese wood, Balinese stone, and a waterfall rain shower.
This floor designed especially for a home-theatre experience, comes fully equipped with entertainment center comprising of a 42-inch plasma tv, dvd player, surround sound, multi-disc stereo system, and satellite radio.
SECOND LEVEL
Walnut steps, lined with lustrous glass panels, make up the flight of floating stairs that lift you to the second floor main living and dining area. Experience the grandeur of a seaside lifestyle with clear glass walls and expansive skylights that illuminate this sphere with soft natural sunlight. The transparency of this architectural breaking element not only allows light to enter but affords a rare sky view from the internal mezzanine situated directly below. Elevated vaulted glass ceiling soaring over 20 feet high adds to this breath-taking affair, while simplistic décor produced by the combination of modern architecture, antique furniture, and primitive objects is refined yet comfortable. Glass walls open up to reveal a private balcony sitting amongst the trees and overlooking the garden below, creating an indoor-outdoor effect.
A state-of-the-art modern kitchen comes equipped with Viking appliances and Caesar stone countertops. An expansive rectangular floating island compliments the repeated theme of parallel lines in this space. A grandiose dining table hosts six people luxuriously with comfortable leather seats. Nearby is a spectacular modern Balinese wood-burning fireplace. Two large contemporary sofas ideal for lounging surround a 10-foot long teak coffee table, which acts as the focal point of the room. THIRD LEVEL
Continue up the stairs and stumble upon an incredible hand-carved Balinese wooden door that guards the master bedroom suite. King-size bed oriented in the center of the room, and meticulously placed furnishings create sharp angles and interesting composition. The deliberate color palette amongst the curved walls and deep dark undertones in the furniture begets relaxation and tranquility for easy rest. This loft-style suite overlooks the main living area with a 180-degree scene of the skylight view. Master bathroom is free from enclosure and also provides a bird's eye view into the main living area.
FOUTH LEVEL
Yet another climactic trip up the last flight of stairs reveals a
grand landing area that leads you out to the intimate sky lounge.
Private rooftop access with picturesque views overlooking the Marina
Canal and Pacific Ocean adds an element of chic relaxed luxury to this island getaway experience. Relax above the trees and enjoy the scenic beauty. Featuring an outstanding authentic Balinese cabana that frames a king-size bed ideal for lounging and entertaining sits

Why the Owner Chose Marina del Rey
I decided to purchase this home because of the location. The area is fantastic! It has one of the nicest beaches in Southern California and is in an exclusive neighborhood called "The Marina Peninsula". Being a peninsula, it is surrounded by water. It is steps to the sand and minutes to Venice, Santa Monica, and the airport.
The Unique Benefits at this Townhome
What's great about this home is that you feel like you're at a tropical paradise in some other country! The walls open up on two floors creating an indoor/outdoor experience. The fourth level has a huge patio, which boasts a king-size cabana and overlooks the Venice canal, Playa Del Rey, and the ocean. Although you may never feel like leaving this place, you should go for a bike ride along the beach, walk to the many cafes and restaurants down the way, and go for a swim or surf in the ocean! There are two piers on either side of the home. One is the Marina pier, which stretches into the ocean and enables you to watch the boats sail by. The other is the Venice Pier, where the surfurs like to go and is fun to walk out to. As many have said, there is no better place they have been! Come and see for yourself!

Hi. My name is Adam Shaffer. Welcome to the Bali Beach Paradise! I spent two years creating this home. It is my masterpiece! My inspiration was Bali. I fell in love with the architecture and beauty of the place from looking in books of wonderful home and villas. After designing the home, I decided to go to Bali and hand pick all the furniture, decorative pieces, art,statues, and a lot of the stone. The result was spectacular! Although I designed it for myself, I decided a while ago to rent it as a vacation home for others to enjoy. I have received letters, gifts, and heartfelt thanks for the wonderful moments that they have had. I look forward to meeting you and hope you too get to experience this truly magical place!

This condo was not only beautifully decorated but is in a great location. The photos did not do it justice. My family and I had a great time and would refer this lovely home to anyone that wants to experience a tropical Bali feel in Marina del Rey!

This was the perfect place to land after selling our home in scenic Palos Verdes. The interior design of the “Bali Paradise” exceeded our expectations. The place was a true labor of love and you could see it in all of the details. From the incredible stone and tile in the bathrooms to the beautiful wood floors and furniture, to the perfect lighting; Adam did not miss a detail. After an exhausting move, leaving our home of eleven year, this place was so easy to settle in to. But that’s not all! It is a “stone’s throw away” to the beach! …and such a quiet part of the beach. Who even knew this part of LA existed. It is truly a fantastic neighborhood: quiet and friendly. We loved running on the beach in the morning. It is remarkably wide and very flat. The location is just a 15-minute walk to many terrific restaurants, the Venice pier and the Venice Canals. But let me repeat myself, this neighborhood is very quiet for being so close to the action. We were here for a 3-month stay and decided to now remain in this part of town. We simply love the location.

There is a serenity about this home that must be experienced; the photos really do not do it justice. The authentic Balinese furnishings, antiques and artwork are incredible. The architecture and the tasteful use of woods and stone are beautiful. So, turn of your cell phone, your laptop and the television. Turn on the music, which can be controlled from all four floors, and relax. Enjoy a cup of tea in the confines of the first floor deck amidst the tropical garden, cook dinner in the fully outfitted gourmet kitchen, star gaze with a glass of wine on the rooftop terrace, then enjoy a soothing rain shower in either of the full baths, or a luxurious soak in the master suite tub. You probably won't want to leave your new digs, but if you do, an uncrowed, wide, sandy beach is but steps away. Take a leisurely walk along the beach to restaurants, coffee houses, cocktails or bike rentals. This place is a true paradise! Even the neighbors are friendly. Instead of spending thousands of dollars, spending hours on a plane and going through customs to spend time on a tropical island, just rent this place! Everything about this place gives you a serene and peaceful feel. The attention to detail is unparalleled to any other rental property I've ever rented in the past. No typical rental property Ikea furniture here, everything is custom and one of a kind high end stuff. My favorite experience was spending time on the 4th floor deck laying in the king size covered hammock on a nice day. I entertained guests one night and they continually commented on how nice and comfortable the place is throughout the night. Can't wait to go back!

I stayed at the Bali Paradise for two weeks in October and I must it was the most amazing two weeks of my life. Every aspect of the condo is beyond beautiful. The location is also like no other just steps away from the beach. Being my first time in L.A, It was a great experience especially since I got to stay in a place that made me feel so comfortable. The pictures do not do it justice. Adam is a great guy and makes you feel right at home. He was only a phone call away whenever we needed anything from the hottest restraunts to the best places to shop. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone that is planning on visiting the area. I will be back!! Thanks for everything Adam!
