This neat beach community is off the beaten path. But only if you want to relax and enjoy. Located 14 miles west of Gulf Shores, nestled between the Gulf of Mexico and the Mobile Bay in the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge is The Rookery community. A small community of pastel colored tin roofed beach cottages located near the beach. The community has a fantastic Large Zero Entry Pool and a Tennis Court just steps away.
A roomy cottage with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. You will enjoy the space which comfortably accomodates up to 6 guests.
This is a great spot for families, seniors, or friends to get together at the beach for a relaxing enjoyable time. The unit is fully equipped. The cottage has a screened porch for relaxing. It features pine floors and a lovely bright decor.
Whether you like to play golf, play in the sand or surf, fish, boat, shop the outlets, play putt-putt, bike, eat lots of seafood or see what's happening at the Wharf, there is truly something for everyone here.

We purchased this vacation home in 2005 and are happy to share our place with you. We've had renters from Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Missouri, and Ohio to name a few. What we hear most, is that they had a relaxing trip and thoroughly enjoyed the cottage and the neighborhood. It's almost like stepping back in time.
Why the Owner Chose The Rookery
We bought a vacation rental in Fort Morgan as we love the Gulf of Mexico. Gulf Shores and especially Fort Morgan are not overdeveloped. The pastel cottages with tin roofs, quality interiors were just a few reasons we settled on The Rookery.

Was only able to stay 2 nights but had so much fun. The cottage is adorable and the pool is great! Short walk to beach too. Love the beach in October-can't wait to come again. The Grays Mobile, AL

Convenient, comfortable, charming... are just a few of the objectives I've used telling others about The Shell Shack. It exceeded my expectations! That week(almost) was one of the better vacations I've had in my nearly 62 years. The weather was divine and you're right... we just missed the tar balls. We actually did find one that Thursday and were greeted with the "smell of machine shop" Saturday morning as we packed the car. But otherwise were unaffected by the oil spill. The beach was beyond beautiful. I do hope others will chance "it" and go. For me and my dear ones the Lord orchestrated some very special memories at your Shell Shack.

I will recommend this to anyone wanting a nice peaceful vacation! The cabin is very nice and has a well stocked kitchen! Not to mention the owners are A+. We enjoyed every minute of it! We will return when coming back to Fort Morgan!
