Loved this place, and hated to leave on the last day! After settling in, we spend a day at nearby Monserrate Beach in Luquillo -- a full services beach with rest rooms, chaise lounges for rent, full snack bar with pina coladas, lifeguards, folks selling ice cream on the beach, nearby restaurant kiosks with an array of excellent food -- what's not to love I ask you! Took a snorkel excursion to Culebra with the family. Took a kayak trip to see the monkeys on Cayo Santiago, and also saw a sea turtle and the worlds largest puffer fish while snorkeling over a sunken barge. Went to Ponce and fed the pelicans, terns and tarpon on the boardwalk. PR has so much to offer, we come back year after year, and this condo is the perfect springboard for all activities. Great sheets and mattresses, internet access for my laptop, a beautiful undeveloped beach to explore and bodysurf from. Great people to work with. Thanks so much! This vacation will clear all thoughts of work from your head on day 1.

This was our first time reserving a unit on VRBO so we were a little concerned. When we arrived, we were quickly impressed! The unit had everything we needed and more. We spent most of our time outside, but it was great to have cable so we could search the internet to get more information about where and what to do on the island. Luquillo Beach was beautiful, great for families and very close to our unit. Stores were also a few minutes drive from the unit and the neighborhood was safe. We were always greeted politely! I would definitely consider coming back next winter. It was truly a great place to stay for a family.
Owner response: We are glad you had a good time in Puerto Rico. We continue to find new and exciting things to do on the island. We will be returning in February and plan on purchasing all new sheets, towels etc for the unit. We will continue to go the extra mile.

The condo was very clean and well stocked. The view was breathtaking. Everyone was very friendly. Some of our favorites places to eat were, Boardrunners, Pasta y Pueblo and Parillas, Kiok #2. We would stay there again. Close to the Rainforest, Biobay tours and San Juan.

Our stay at the “Luxury in Luquillo” condo was fantastic! The view was magnificent out our balcony, and we were close to all the places we wanted to see in Puerto Rico—Old San Juan, the rainforest, Fajardo (with the ferry to Culebra), and many sparkling beaches. We rarely saw another soul while walking at the beach in front of the condo, and we especially enjoyed the “magical hidden beach” just in front of the condo. The people in PR couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. No need to worry if no one in your group speaks Spanish. Also, credit cards are readily accepted along with American currency. After making arrangements to stay at the condo, Michael sent us a lot of helpful information. We enjoyed the restaurants he mentioned in his suggested itinerary (the Brass Cactus, La Parilla, and Lolitas). Also in Luquillo we had nice meals at Guava’s (oceanfront) and Pasta y Pueblo. Great things about the condo: Location near so many attractions, plenty of room, two luxurious pillow-top, king-sized beds with soft sheets, large ultra-comfy leather couch, fantastic view from balcony, large dining room table for playing games, good books, beach chairs and beach equipment, soft towels, air-conditioned bedrooms, two full baths, plenty of room to store things in the master bedroom (but the other bedrooms had scanty storage space), decent kitchen stocked with some goodies, refrigerator, dishwasher and high-efficiency washer and dryer, never a sound from condo neighbors, secure location to stay and to park the car. There is no air conditioning in the main part of the condo. Michael was absolutely right when he told me there was no need for air conditioning. When you open up the sliding glass doors, a constant, refreshing ocean breeze comes through along with the relaxing sound of waves. Despite everything being opened up, we never had any bugs/flies in the condo. Paradise . . . To be totally honest, I must mention that there were a few minor maintenance issues (none of which spoiled our time whatsoever at the condo), specifically regarding the TV, plumbing, and rusty beach chairs. I have no doubt that Michael will take care of the problems immediately. We would return to this condo in a heartbeat and highly recommend staying here. This condo provides a great value for your money.

We really loved this condo. The condo was secure, clean and the pictures shown are a true representation of the property. The owner, Michael, was terrific to deal with during the rental process and satisfied all our needs. Being on the 13th floor, the view of the beach from the balcony is spectacular. It is only a short walk down to the center of Luquillo where there is a bakery with wonderful pastries. The beaches are beautiful with soft sand and warm water. There are three different beaches sure to meet anyone’s desires. Right in front of the condo a surfer’s beach. To the left of the surfer’s beach there is a bodysurfing beach. Then the public beach, a short car ride away (5 minutes), with wonderful calm waters. There is also a condo pool which we didn’t use very much because we spent all our time on the lovely beaches. There are many great restaurants nearby. Pasta Pueblo’s, #2 La Parillo and #21 Bonito at the Kiosks, Lolita’s a Mexican restaurant on Route 3 and Guavas Boardriders right are on the beach to the left of the condo. Breakfast is good at El Flamboyan. Three musts while you are visiting: Only a 15 minute ride from the condo, are the Yunke Zipline Adventures, Hacienda Carabali where you can choose to ride horses, go carts, or ATVs and exploring the El Yunque rainforest. The Wyndham (Rio Mar) Casino is also only 15 minutes away We loved our stay and will be coming back.

We stayed in this condo as a winter getaway, and had a wonderful time. We had a minor gliche with parking 2 cars in the garage, so I would clear this ahead of time, but everything else was lovely. The view from the balcony is incredible, the furniture, appliances, and decorations were very nice and well maintained. The master bedroom is very spacious with a walk-in closet and private bathroom. The condo is very well-equipped with sand toys for kids, boogie boards, a pack and play, and patio/beach chairs, as well as plenty of linens and dishes. The main living area was plenty big for 7 adults and 1 child. The condo owner left a very helpful sample itinerary with recommended restaurants and other activities. Grocery shopping and restaurants are nearby, however nothing really within walking distance. This was an excellent place to stay with small children, as the beach and pool are both in close proximity, and many other activities are close by. I would highly recommend this condo, and we are hoping to stay there again!

Great rental for our stay in Loquillo. We enjoyed two nights in Loquillo, which was about 45 minutes away from the San Juan airport, on one of the most perfect beaches I have ever seen. Very close to El Yunque, many of the resorts, and just a quick drive to the southern coast of Puerto Rico. Near Fajardo and several restaurants The rental was fully stocked with water toys and other necessaries for enjoying a couple of days on the beach. I really appreciate the owner for having these things on hand. All of the pictures of the inside of the condo are accurate. It was a very comfortable stay. I would definitely go back and stay in Loquillo in a heartbeat. The owner was very easy to work with in handling the delivery of keys and taking payment. If you are planning a stay in Loquillo, I recommend this rental very highly.
Owner response:We are glad you had a good time. Two times a year we stock the unit with all the stuff we think is necessary. I have rented places where there was nothing not even a roll of toilet paper and we strive to be different. We will continue to go the extra mile.

This is our fourth or fifth visit to Puerto Rico, because we love it so much and there's so much to explore. We always stay at this sumptuous condo, which is a great value. The owners continue to keep the place in top shape -- the master bedroom and hallway were recently recently repainted since our last visit in the spring, and there's reflective film on the bedroom windows now to keep things even cooler. (way to go green!) This time we drove to Hacienda Buena Vista, a restored coffee plantation a little north of Ponce. It's run by a conservation group, and everything they do is top notch, like their tour of Las Cabezas de San Juan nature preserve in Fajardo. I also took a personal guided tour offered by Robin, of petroglyphs (ancient stone carvings) along the Rio Blanco near Naguabo. What a great educational adventure! We swam into a small cave behind a waterfall. We also enjoyed dinner at nearby Pasta y Pueblo, hosted by our friends Freddie and his wife Yessica. Thanks for sponsoring a sea turtle -- I like to support environmentally- aware owners. Keep up the good work, and thanks for another great vacation! Did lots of Christmas shopping at the nearby Outlet Mall too!.

We are a family of 4 from Austria/Europe and stayed for a week. As we like to explore everything this was a perfect starting point. The appartment is very well maintained, the personel very friendly and everything worked well oranised. Michael - the owner - was very helpful during the reservation, the stay and also afterwards. We spent most of our time Tarpon fishing in San Juan, on the beach in Luquillo and chartering a bareboat going to Viques and Culebra. For all such adventures this appartment is the perfect starting point. We especially loved to have a garage in the house, the well appointed kitchen and the beautiful view directly from the living room. All in all we loved it very much and plan to come again.
Owner response:We are glad you had a good time. I will have to try Tarpon fishing. I have had luck in front of the condo for a variety of fishes as you can see the fish schools from the balcony when they are in close. I also plan on trying the new zip line in Luquillo too. We will continue to go the extra mile.

We rented both units 18A & 13A (we were 12 all together) and both units were lovely. Everything that you needed was in the units from beach chairs to coolers to boogie boards and toys for the beach and many more things that come in useful. We did not have small children but my grandkids enjoyed the boogieboards in the beach in front of the condo. The condo is very clean and well kept and very nicely decorated. The view from all sides is beautiful. You see El Yunque from the bedrooms , the town Plaza from the kitchen and the beautiful ocean from the living room. The condo is close to everything, El Yunque, Luquillo beach, 7 seas beach and not far from San Juan, Take a walk down the beach (to the right) it is so beautiful, I especially liked where the river meet the beach. You are in the town of Luquillo so you will be driving into al puerto Rican town not like San Juan. All our party enjoyed themselves and we would go back again.

The condo is amazing and it looks exactly like the photos. The owners were extremely nice and very helpful...we followed the example itinerary almost exactly. Every restaurant we ate at was delicious and way above what we had expected. If you're looking for a great vacation spot, with incredibly nice people, this is the place. One helpful hint: rent a car, we couldn't have done half of the things without it and you'll miss almost all of the island. The condo is right on the beach but the rain forest is just as great! Also, the island the very easy to get around and the directions that are included with the itinerary are perfect. We will definitely be back, thanks Michael!!
Owner response:We are glad you had a good time. I enjoy trying out different restaurants when I am down there as well. The rainforest is about 10 minutes away and that means you are in it. I hope you guys went swimming in the waterfall as that is fun to do. Renting a car does open up the opportunities for fun. I am going back in August and can not wait to drive to the southern part of the island. It is like stepping back in time 50 years pretty cool. I hope you got your chance to try the local beer it is pretty good. We will continue to go the extra mile.

We found the condo to be just as described, and the pictures are a very accurate representation. The owner was very helpful in providing us information ahead of time, and even sent copies of several menus from local restaurants. The private beach area was nice and several days we had it almost to ourselves. For us, the location was great. We were able to get to the rainforest within @ 15 minutes. Also for people interested in doing a biobay tour this location is so close to Fajardo where you can either do a biobay tour or catch a catamaran to Vieques. Overall we felt that this was a good deal, especially considering we were able to have some space to spread out, put our youngest to bed at a reasonable hour, while the rest of us hung out in the living area. The washer/dryer unit was invaluable!!!
Owner response:We are glad you had a nice time in Puerto Rico. I continue to update my things to do list with area attractions and the like. I plan no gettting more menus in the near future. In the winter the beach is unoccupied on most days. If you walk to the right it is kind of like Tom Hanks in Castaway as there is nothing but 5 miles of empty beach. I agree about the washer and dryer. We are bringing all our clothes in carry on luggage as the washer dryer allows us to wear them more than once saving time and money in the airport. We will continue to go the extra mile.

Our visit to Puerto Rico was enhanced by having such great accomodations and amenities at the condo. It was wonderful to have a washer, dryer, dish washer, and other kitchen appliances to make our stay comfortable. We appreciated the many extras provided by the owners: we utilized the beach chairs, had a few late night scrabble tournaments, and tried many of their recomended restaurants. The location gave us easy access to all the areas we needed to travel to during our stay and we had a wonderful ocean view and breeze when we were not out exploring. From our balcony, we could access the wireless internet provided by the city. We found everything in the condo in good working order and exactly as described in the promo. The beds and furniture were comfortable, the large living space and the two bathrooms made family vacationing problem free. We ate most breakfasts in the condo, so having nice dishes, silverware, pans, toaster, and a coffee pot there for our use was quite handy, plus there was close grocery shopping available. It was great to experience the Christmas holiday season in Puerto Rico and it was nice to be out of the cold. We found the security guard to be very helpful upon our arrival and during our stay. The pool was great, but we only used it one day because we were just too busy. We're looking forward to our next visit.
Owner response:We are glad you had a good time in Puerto Rico. The condo is outfitted with everything I could think of. We add to the collection of amenities each time we go down. In February we will restock the entire apartment with garbage bags, soap, laundry detergent, toilet paper etc for the year. We will continue to go the extra mile.

we enjoyed staying in the condo at sandy hills. the view is awsome and the condo was very nice. we enjoyed the deserted beaches to the right of the condo. you do feel like a cast away!! it was great! make sure you eat at the brass cactus in luquillo. it was fantastic!!
Owner response:I am glad you enjoyed your stay in Luquillo. I have walked on the beach to the right for about 1 hour straight and was only 1/3 the way to the end. Hopefully I finish the walk this year. Miles of deserted beach with just crabs and pelicans as company that is my style. Yes the Brass Cactus is the local "regal beagle" of the area. I do enjoy going down there and having a few beers and watching some games. I have heard great reviews for Kings Seafood and plan on sending those menus in the mail to our visitors as well. We will continue to go the extra mile.

What a great place to spend a vacation. It’s been around 10 years since I last visited Puerto Rico. Just as advertised, the condo was spacious, well equipped and very well maintained. We loved the beach and enjoyed our short trips into town for breakfast or lunch. The food and hospitality was wonderful. We were all over the island. We went on a bio bay kayak tour, visited the Rain Forest, went horseback riding, and we went to the Caves of Camuy. Of course we had our own beach which was great. One day we visited all the sites in Old San Juan and came back at night to enjoy the nightlife. I went on vacation with my wife and three kids (19, 21, and 22), if you can call them kids. The kids had the time of their lives… They can’t wait to go back. My wife and I can’t wait to go back and if possible I will be coming back to this condo in Luquillo. THANKS!
Owner response:We are glad you had a good time down in PR. I also went to the caves and was amazed at how cool they were. I am heading down in August again and look forward to updating the condo with new items. We will continue to go the extra mile.

Rented this condo the week of June 12, 2008. It is a very good place to stay and a great value. The view from the deck looks just like the pictures and the beach goes on for miles. The condo itself is very clean and nicely decorated. I would have given an overall rating of 5, but have to give a little deduction for the air conditioning which is absent in the main area (although you can get a nice breeze going most days via the large ocean facing glass doors), and pretty loud in the bedrooms. This is minor complaint, not a major concern. The location in Luquillo is good for both snorkeling trips out of Fajardo and hiking in the El Yunque rainforest. Prior to heading to Luquillo we spent a day in Old San Juan. Except for that day, we never needed to venture more than 20 miles from Luquillo to find any kind of activity we wanted in Puerto Rico. The town of Luquillo may take a little getting used to if you normally stay in all inclusive resorts, but mingling with the friendly locals was half the fun of the trip. We definetely plan on staying here again.
Owner response:I am glad you had a good time in PR. There are certainly many things to do in the area. I will look into the noise coming from the ACs the next time I am down there. For the main area I usually open the balcony door and the door to the hallway which produces a large wind tunnel effect through the condo. We will continue to go the extra mile.

We spent 10 nights in Puerto Rico (one in Old San Juan, 2 in Vieques, and 7 in Luquillo). Our time in Luquillo was all we hoped for and the condo was a huge part of that. The ocean view is postcardesque and this condo is incredible. We actually rented 3 condos because our group was so large and this condo was the best (I also liked the other 2, but this one was first-rate). The rooms have AC and exceptional mattresses. The front room doesn't have AC, but the ocean breeze cools it down nicely. The kitchen is as nice as home and the condo even has a washer & dryer--which was a big bonus to be able to do laundry without dragging clothes around. I only disliked all the keys for the gate, door, elevator, etc., but it was nice to be safe and sound and able to relax so that was a minor inconvenience. It was by far the safest place we stayed. We also traveled a lot on our stay, even to the other top beach town of Cabo Rojo and let me say Luquillo DOMINATES Cabo Rojo in restaurants, location to Old San Juan, access to the Rain Forest, and especially the beaches. I lived in Puerto Rico for 2 years and researched our vacation for about 4 months and will guarantee you that Luquillo is the best location for an extended stay (over 2 days) and this condo is without question unmatched for the price. Even if you have less than 6 people I would still pay the little extra and rent this one over a 2 bedroom condo. Book this one and you won't be sorry. We were all adults and loved it, but it also had stuff (games & some toys) for the young ones. Next time we go we're bringing our kids and booking this place. I'd move the dates of my vacation just to make sure I got it again.
Owner response:We are glad you enjoyed your stay at the condo. Luquillo is trully well positioned on the island for all sorts of activities. Within 10 minutes you can be in the rainforest, riding a horse or in the next door nature preserve. Within 15 minutes you can be in the El Conquistador hotel complex, at the ferry landing to the islands, at Porto Del Rey the largest marina in the Carribean or at the El Faro Light House preserve. It is true there are many restaurants very close to the condo. Lolitta's for Mexican, Brass Cactus for Tex Mex, Eric's Gryros for Greek Breakfast and a new place opened on the beach next to the condo called Mangos. The beds are pillowtop and they are nicer than ones I have in my own house. I plan on photocoping the menus of the local restaurants and emailing them out for our new tenants - this way you will know what is on the menu before you go. In Old San Juan there is every type of restaurant imaginable. In Condado there are even more. Thanks for staying with us. We will continue to go the extra mile.

We really enjoyed our stay in the condo. Directly overlooking the fantastic waves and sounds of the ocean. No better place than this to have your morning coffee. The condo was well equipped with everything plus plenty of sand toys if children will be part of the group. We did find it challenging to navigate the streets, but it was well worth it. A car is a must!!! Esp. to get to sightseeing ares. You also need stiff nerves, as many do not seem to appreciate stop signs or red lights. Would recommend 2 local restaurants...Guava which is practically next door on the beach and La Parrilla. The latter's food was so good, we went there 3 times. From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once inside you get the local flavor, esp. sitting far inside practically sitting on the beach itself. Would we go back ? Definitely, Yes.
Owner response:I am glad you enjoyed our place. We have gone extra lengths to provide everything needed to have a good time. I am really glad you mentioned the sound of the ocean. As soon as you open the balcony door you are presented with the sound of the waves and a nice breeze. Being able to see 10 miles out to sea is a nice plus as well. You are spot on about La Parrilla in the Kiosks. From the outside it does not look special. Once you walk inside you realize that this place has it going on. The food is very good here. If anybody likes hot sauce I recommend trying their house hot sauce it is fantastic but not overpowering. I have not tried Guava right near the building. I drove by it one night and it looked pretty nice. I would recommend Lolitas Mexican on Route 3. This is about 4 miles down the road towards Fajardo. Easily the best Mexican on the island. The wait is routinely over 30 minutes to get in.(It is that good) I plan on scanning the menus of the local places to eat that are good and sending them off to our visitors before they arrive. We will continue to go the extra mile.

What a great facility! We just returned from a stay from 4/5-4/10/08. The room was just outstanding and a great value. Comfortable beds, nice kitchen facilities, well stocked... clearly this is more than just a modestly furnished investment property. Couldn't ask for more, except Internet access. There is a public square three blocks from the room with public WiFi for those who need to access the rest of the world occasionally or just confirm your flight information. Grocery stores and a Wal Mart are nearby for stocking up on essentials. Mike's list of what to do and see is a real benefit of renting this place. Lots of ideas and recommendations to help you find a restaurant in a hurry. The town of Luquillo is not much to look at as you drive in, but it will surprise you if you're willing to look around. Sitting in the public square eating a pastry from the bakery while listening to the music from an aerobics lesson and surfing for airline information ranks as one of the most memorable traveling experiences I've had. Other comments: The easy beach assess and the pool close at 6:00 which seems really early when there is light until 8:00. You can still get to the beach by walking around the building. The beach is great, but the sand is orange. There is nothing wrong with orange sand and it's a great beach, just be aware that it is not the white sand of lore.
Owner response:We are glad you had a good time. The bakery on the square is relatively new and a decent one at that. The town square wifi is a bonus for the area. I also hit the local pub The Brass Cactus to utilize their wifi and to down a Medallia Light the local beer. We stuff the unit with all the necessities and are always on the look out for items that may be of interest to our visitors. We will continue to go the extra mile.

I stayed at this Condo for 7 nts. Everthing discribed by the Owners on this Condo was exactly as stated. From the Post Card view from the balcony facing the ocean to all the up-graded furnishings, nothing was misrepesented. We had all the comforts of home i.e., 36 inch flat screen TV, A/C in all the bedrooms, large comfortable living room area, free parking, private beach, etc, etc, etc. My youngest son Andy and I went for a morning walk on the beach. We walked on that beach as if we were the only ones their (we were). We walked beside rows and rows of tropical vegatation, palms and coconut trees. We even ventured into the reserve where you can really feel like your on a deserted island. I was so excited that I had to go back and show the rest of the family, that was great. The people of Puerto Rico are friendly and the food at the nearby Kiosk was excellent. The nearby Rain forest is a must...take the hike to Mina Falls and go for a refreshing dip (it's allowed). All and all, I had a great time and would recommend this Condo to anyone. If you don't mind picking up after yourself to save hundreds of dollars compared to a hotel...than this is the spot for you. In closing I'd like to mention my communition with the Condo Owners thru email and phone conversations were exceptional. "ALL" my questions were answered and I really felt at ease. Thankyou, Sal & Rose

We visted Puerto Rico for the first time in March, and the entire family had an outstanding time! There was so much to do! The first day, we hit the beach in front of the condo, and had it nearly all to ourselves. We met a few folks who have been staying in the complex for the past 20 years or more, so that was a good endorsement. We got a little sunburn the first day, so we went to the rainforest the next day, and saw the falls, and bamboo, and a humingbird. That evening, the kids and I took a guided kayak trip to the bioluminescent lagoon. We drove to old San Juan two different days -- found some great shops and restaurants, and got free rum drinks at Casa Don Q! And a free cigar and shot of rum at Ron Collins cigars. Old San Juan is so picturesque! I literally had pigeons eating out of the palm of my hand at the Plaza of Pigeons. Princess Walk along the bay to the famous city gate. The brightly painted ornate buildings. My son and I loved exploring El Moro fortress. What's not to love? We visited the nearby El Conquistador resort and casino, and drove down the east coast to Humacao and saw banana plantations. The people of Puerto Rico are wonderful - very friendly and helpful. This condo almost hovers right over the ocean's edge, and has a superb view and constant breeze. The condo is extremely well furnished, with leather couch and very comfortable beds. The condo fills every need, with beach chairs, great selection of reading books, boogie boards, umbrellas, etc etc. The wood panel doors throughout have exquisite workmanship. The washer and dryer are state of the art. It was very hard to leave -- we'll be going back to this place next year for sure.
Owner response:Hi, we are glad you had such a good time. Puerto Rico is so much more than just a beach like other islands. Thank you for the comments regarding the unit we have really tried to make it the best in the area. We will continue to go the extra mile.

Our family stayed in this rental over Christmas and New Years. Everything was great. Three seperate bedrooms, all with there own A.C. which could be set at whatever temp was comfortable. View was great and the breeze from the ocean swept through the living room and kitchen. We received our deposit promptly. Puerto Rico was great.
Owner response:We are glad you had such a good time. Since your stay we have added many things to the apartment. All new beach chairs, all new towels, new 300 count sheets and a many new pictures and decorative art on the walls. We will continue to go the extra mile.

This property is furnished beautifully and the view from the balcony of the nature preserve and the water is just gorgeous. There were never many people around either....so it felt like your own private beach. We thought the water was too rough for swimming but then decided to go in and it was ok for body surfing not swimming....fun! The info Mike provided was very helpful....from directions to and from airport....where to go for sightseeing and adventure, shopping and eating out. We only ate at the Brass Cactus once and it was good....but we suggest if you're having cocktails to go during happy hour....as they are 2 for 1. We cooked most of our meals in the fully equipped kitchen and saved a lot. Amigo, Econo, and Wal-Mart are all close by. Everything recommended was worth the trip....we did the rain forest, the nature walk at the Fajardo lighthouse, San Juan....and we recommend going to Vieques and going to the bio-luminescent bay....we did this years ago but couldnt make it this trip....it was something you will never forget. Mike was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful...we look forward to staying here again.
Owner response:We are glad you had a good time in Luquillo. We take the time to ensure everyone has a good time. We will continue to go the extra mile.

The condo is located on the 13 floor of a very secure tower building. There are two very quick elevators with minimal waiting time. The condo it well furnished. Three nice bedrooms, living room, kitchen, two bathrooms. All great for a family. The kitchen is very functional with dishwasher and all needed pots and pan. There is a clothes washer and dryer in the unit. A nice flat screen TV with many channels (but who wants to watch TV anyway). The view off the patio is great. The beach in front of the condo is nice with few people around. To the east is a very long stretch of undeveloped natural beach that runs for a few miles. It is a great place to take a walk. We seldom saw people there. The small river you need to cross to get there is not a deep as it appears. Just knee deep. My kids liked boogie boarding in front of the condo. The bottom was sandy and not very deep (chest high), the undertow was minimal, yet I'd be very careful with younger (under 12) kids on most of the PRs beaches. AC in bedroom was adequate and not really needed most of the time, we ran it in fan mode just for air circulation and to deaden outside sounds (minimal anyway). There are some annoying roosters around town that spontaneously like to crow. Running the AC or fan blocks them out at night. We talked to many travelers who were staying in SJ and they were all paying double or more for single hotel rooms compared to the cost of this condo. Most were not happy with their setting calling San Juan noisy, dirty, and not relaxing as they had hoped. Luquillo and this condo is a great place for independent minded travelers who do not need daily maid services and a beach side bartender. Luquillo is a small town with fewer activities than San Juan. The Brass Cactus, Eriks Gyros, and the Sabor Mexican Resturant were the family favorites for dining in Luquillo. Williams Pizza was very good too and just three blocks from the condo. There are several fast food places if you need a fix. It is a short drive to Fajardo with a few more dining options. In Luquillo there is a large grocery story called Amigos. A Wallgreens were you can also buy a nice general PR map. Hint: down load a map of Luquillo before traveling - there are none available in PR. But with some trial and error the town is easy to navigate. I highly recommend renting a car in PR. Driving is NOT as bad as I've read about. Most people were courteous and drove no worse than in most large cities. Luquillo is a great location as a jumping off point for visiting the northeast coast and for a run into San Juan. 4 out of 5 stars.
Owner response:I am glad you enjoyed your stay. The Sabor Mexican restaurant sounds interesting and will give it a go when I am down in February. I plan on buying a surf board and some more wall art for the unit. We have already purchased new beach towels, shower towels etc and extra 300 Count sheets for all the beds. We will continue to go the extra mile. Thanks again.

No hot water in showers; no central air, air-conditioning in bedrooms only. Beach is BEAUTIFUL! However, beach gate and pool close at 6PM! The restaurants at the kiosks are SUPER! Great food, friendly people. A beautiful place to stay, but too warm unless out on the deck. The early closing pool and beach were disappointing. The pool is gorgeous and the sandy beach has baeutiful waves for body surfing...too early to close! The key drop-off was a pain, but it was a new system.
Owner response:Ralph, thank for you for bringing these issues to my attention. We have replaced the electrical line heater with a hot water heater in the apartment. This should eliminate the lack of hot water going forward. The unit has air conditioners in all bedrooms for your comfort. A central air system in this building is not practical as there is no place to put the unit nor the duct work to handle it. On the island it is standard practice to close the pool and the gate to the beach at 6PM. You can still walk out the entrance of the building and go around the side to gain access to the beach. We have also changed the key distribution mechanics. Now we send the keys via fedex and have our visitors return them on their return the same way. This way there is no need to bother with the management company. I am glad you enjoyed the kiosks and the local flavor Puerto Rico offers. The local people are some of the nicest people I have met. Again thank you for staying with us. We try to go the extra mile.

The unit was gorgeous, extremely well furnished and decorated, and spacious. The balcony and view were unbelievable...you look out and can see at least 3-4 shades of blue across the local beach and Atlantic. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need for cooking. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the A/C units allowed us to achieve our level of cool/dry comfort. Having a washer and dryer in the unit was very convenient. The beach outside the unit was a lot of fun. Exactly as posted...on the right you have miles of virgin beach...on the left a very fun surfing beach for those comfortable with waves. We made good use of the beach chairs, sand toys, and boogey board. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and would certainly return.
