Honua Laa Tipi Village We chose the name Honua Laa because it means "sacred land." We are located in Ocean view, Hawaii on Road to the Sea, and just a few miles above a remote black sand beach. The two puus we can see from our property are called Pele’s tears and the Manuka State forest reserve borders our property in the back.
From the first night that we camped here under the full moon, I could feel the life force energy (mana) of the Big Island like never before. Seven sleeping tipis and one gathering tipi.
Each tipi is decorated in rainbow colors with a theme of a Hawaiian flower. They are all tastefully furnished and are solid built with stained cement floors and cozy rugs. We have solar charged, portable DVD players for rent. Red - Lehua Blossom Tipi Accommodates two adults - Full size bed with memory foam topper
Orange - Orange Hibiscus Tipi Accommodates two adults - Full size bed with memory foam topper Yellow - Yellow Hibiscus Tipi Accommodates two adults - Full size bed
Pink & Green - Pink Hibiscus Tipi Accommodates two adults - King size bed
Blue - Blue Daze Tipi Accommodates two adults - King size bed Purple - Purple Orchid Tipi Accommodates two adults - King size bed
White - Pikake Tipi Accommodates two adults - King size bed
The tipis are offered as nightly rentals in between spiritual retreats and offer a cozy, comfortable accommodation near one of the Island's most remote black sand beaches. It is only one hour to Volcano National Park from here. Our previous guests say these are "5 star tipis! Very nice. You won't want to miss it!"
There is a shared bath house with towels in the color of your tipi. The gazebo community kitchen in the tipi village has a solar powered blender, coolers and an ice machine if the sun is shining. Gas stove and gas grill. Bring a bag of ice and something to barbecue!
In keeping with our respect for the Mana and the space we have created for silence and stillness, as well as, sobriety retreats, we prefer that there be limited and conservative use of alcohol(including beer and wine). We also request that you be conscious of noise and keep music and DVD volumn low. Also be aware of your cell phone noise, so that others will not be disturbed. If you are looking for a quiet getaway or a place to experience nature's silence and stillness, we think you will find Honua Laa a sanctuary and place of renewal for your soul. There is a private yoga studio nearby (our neighbor about a half mile down is a yoga teacher. White Dove and EagleFeather (the owners)offer Reiki treatments in the meditation garden for a small fee. Excursions to Pele's cave and guided forest hikes are also available for a fee. |
