This was our first trip to Paris. Renting the apartment was the right decision. The location was great! It put us in the middle of everything Paris. It was like we were residents of the city. The apartment wasn't hugh, especially by US standards, but more than adequate. Sophie met us at the apartment and helped get us settled and was very helpful for anything we needed.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Location, convenience, charm

This was our first trip to Paris, two adults, two teenagers. Our trip couldn't have gone better. Starting with our wonderful host Sophie, who was there to greet us as we came to the door. She showed us around the apartment, all the details and fresh clean sheets on the beds. (the second bed is a fold-out which is actually comfortable.) Then walked us around the neighborhood to get us familiar. There is a small grocery store just down the street. Also recommend the restaurant around the corner, Le Quincambosse, we had a wonderful meal. The apartment is clean, comfortable, quiet and well appointed, everything works. My only slight criticism, the apartment windows all face towards the courtyard, which is nice to minimize street noise, but it would have been nice to have a view. Not a big deal for us since we got back so late. The bathroom is small, but clean and modern. The separate toilet is a plus with 4 people all trying to get ready. Location is a big plus, I would highly encourage newcomers to use the Metro, just around the corner and very easy. We had an absolutely wonderful trip,I feel the apartment is a great value and helped us enjoy Paris that much more.

A quiet haven in the middle of Paris

We thoroughly enjoyed having this quiet, comfortable haven to return to each day. The apartment was just as described with all the ammenities that one could desire, and we used them all. It was great to have a kitchen and a living room. We cooked, we rested, we loved having a nice table to plan our day's excursions. In addition, the apartment was at the epicenter of dozens of affordable restaurants and cafe; very close to shopping and walkable to most museums and tourist sites. There are several metro stations close by, and having easy access to the RER B from the airport was greatly appreciated. The owner was very helpful and punctual about meeting us when we arrived and checked out. We would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone. It was a great find.

This apartment has a nearly perfect location, as all of central Paris is walkable. The owner was easy to deal with, the apartment was very comfortable and quiet, and it provided a great base for a wonderful 9 days in Paris. I would definitely recommend it.

Our group consisted of two adults and two children. We had eight nights in this apartment and found that it was not only a perfect location but it was roomy (for Europe). The free Wi-Fi and free telephone (including to UK & Australia) was also great. The key pick up went smoothly and Pierre was very helpful. We will definitely look at staying here on our next trip.

Perfect Paris Apartment

Our recent two week stay in Paris was made especially nice by the perfect location and comforts of this wonderful apartment in the Marais. On an extremely quiet pedestrian street, the very secure, charming building is only steps from almost everything Paris is about. We found it extremely easy to walk to just about anywhere, catch all the bus and Metro routes within mere blocks. Shops, bistros, fine dining were just around the corner, literally in all directions. Having Pharmacie and Monop within steps makes everything convenient too. We would highly recommend this great, nicely appointed apartment for your next stay in the City of Lights. Merci mille fois Sophie!!!

We had a great stay at this apartment. The location is wonderful - various metro stops are easily accessible, good local bakeries and supermarkets for supplies,and the Pompidou center just around the corner. The apartment itself is lovely - nicely funished, clean, well supplied. It was also very quiet - no street noise in the apartment. We'd stay again!

My friend and I spent eight days a the Marais apartment and everything was as advertised. Jean-Pierre met us the first day with the keys and instructions on the appliances, TV and WiFi (free). The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was laid out quite easily. The apartment is ideally located near the Metro stop, various and many cafes, shops and all the lovely "tourist" spots in the Marais. I'm definitely going back. Lyn Andersen Oakland

Perfect place from which to explore Paris!

My husband and I have just returned from a week's stay in Paris and were thoroughly pleased with our apartment rental! The neighborhood is safe, lively,car-free and full of cafes etc. It was walking distance to 3 metro stations that could zip us to anywhere, also walking dist. to Notre Dame, St. Chappele, the Siene and Pompidou Center. The kitchen was so handy for making breakfasts and packing lunches, but we did not cook since we were on vacation! Tons of action on the streets below but quiet in the apartment as it faces the inside. Having a separate bedroom allows someone to sleep later and not be disturbed. The washing machine helped us prior to the next leg of our journey, but note the "dryer" at this time is a drip-dry rack.(worked fine) The bed was a queen size and very comfy. We highly recommend this apartment, you won't be disappointed!!! We are so glad we chose this particular property over a hotel and would do it again in a minute~

We arrived in Paris earlier than we said we would, but Pierre cheerfully met us, allowed us to drop off our bags while he cleaned, and took the time to show us how everything worked. I can't emphasize enough how much we appreciated this after a long red-eye flight. The location was terrific, close to many metro lines and the RER, and walking distance to some of the most vibrant parts of Paris. More practically, there are plenty of places to pick up a quick sandwich, and some small grocery stores nearby. Despite the central location, there was no noticeable street noise in the apartment itself. The wifi connectivity was flawless. My teenage son and I were very comfortable - I slept in the bedroom while he slept on the sleep sofa. We would happily stay there again.

Just returned home yesterday from Paris. The apartment was exactly as described; absolutely no disappointments. All dealings with the management were very pleasant; Jean Pierre even lined up a cab to the airport for us. The bed in the bedroom was very comfortable; my 13-year-old son was happy enough on the pull-out sofa, although I don't think it would be all that comfortable for an adult. Location was very handy for all sorts of things, convenient to Metro and buses, tons of restaurants and clubs in easy walking distance.

Having lived in the 15th for two years many years ago, for this trip I decided to choose an apartment in an area with which I was less familiar. For sightseeing (I took my mother and a friend), the location of this apartment can not be beat. It is central and within walking distance to almost every Paris monument that one might see as a tourist and the metro and bus lines are very close. The apartment is beautiful and very clean, well appointed and maintained. I would have preferred to look out on the street and to have a bit more light; however, it is very quiet looking out on the small "courtyard" and there are three large windows (the automatic shutters are perfect for keeping out light and noise in the morning!). It is very quiet, peaceful for being in such a busy quartier. The bed is comfortable as is the pull out couch in the living area. There is no dryer. The guest book (and the travel books left by previous visitors) was very helpful for restaurant recommendations. My mother, her friend and I very much enjoyed our stay.

This was my first visit to Paris and it couldn't have been more delightful. The location was ideal as we could walk everywhere to all the historic sights. The apartment showed as we thought with one bedroom and a small but functional bath. Only closets were limited. The manager was helpful in providing restaurants and a map. Lovely Apartment

We stayed for one week from Feb 6th to 13th. It is centrally located and 2 blocks away from Chatelet metro station where you can take Metro and RER trains everywhere, You can also walk to Central Paris easily. It is in very lively Maris. We enjoyed walking to where Picasso Museum is although it is closed for 2 years, Apartment is very spacious and well equipped with everything you need. The washer is very convenient if you stay long to do the laundry. The only con was that windows were kind of blocked so you do not have full outside view. I will definitely come back and recommend to friends. Jean Pierre was very helpful.Thanks for the making out trip enjoyable.

My husband & I visited our daughter the week of Thanksgiving during her semester abroad experience in Paris. We thought it would be fun to rent an apartment rather than stay in a hotel so that she could join us. This flat was ideally located in her favorite area, Le Marais. It is actually situated on a side street just off of a busy street, as well as being on an internal court yard - so...as others said, there was no issue with noise. It is very comfortable, attractively decorated and has all of the amenities one could want at a reasonable price. It is walking distance to just about everywhere - across the Seine from the Latin Quarter - (of course we like to walk) but if you need a ride the nearest metro station is Chatelet where you can connect to almost any train in the system including the RER line to and from the airport. Never having rented an apartment on vacation before, I was nervous that something would go wrong but Dorrie was most gracious at answering all of my questions and Pierre was there to greet us the second we arrived. I now believe this is the only way to visit Paris and wouldn't hesitate to rent this flat again!

We had a lovely stay at this perfectly located apartment in the Marais district, just 5 minutes' walk from the Seine. Although the street was lively with many restaurants, the apartment was very quiet. We had a lovely meal at the Cafe Beaubourg downstairs, and enjoyed the Happy Hour and free jazz at the Bar Komptoir around the corner. The apartment was spacious enough for us 3 adults, and both Dorrie and Pierre were lovely to deal with. Paris was the highlight of our 5 weeks in Europe, and this apartment had a lot to do with our enjoyment of this magical city.

We four middle-aged friends LOVED staying in this apartment! The pictures don't do it justice - it's bigger than it looks. PERFECT location for getting anywhere in the city, and so many restaurants nearby. Definitely eat at the Grizzli (ask Pierre). Both Dorrie (the owner) and Pierre (the manager) are wonderfully friendly and very professional. Free phone calls to the US were an added super bonus. We definitely want to come back and stay in this apartment!

My family of three can certainly give our ringing endorsement to all the positive comments about the flat's location. Just about everthing you want to see is walking distance or an easy Metro or bus ride. Immediate neighborhood has excellent choices in restaurants, at all budget levels. The flat itself is extremely clean, comfortably appointed and very quiet, due to its location on the interior of the building. Yet, as soon as you step out the front door, you have the bustle of Paris right before you. Pierre, who serves as greeter, is smart and friendly, very much on top of his job. We would return to this flat without hesitation.

Thanks for a lovely stay. The apartment is very cozy (all mod cons) and all about location, location, location. Being on the courtyard, it is also very quiet. Just steps to the Duc des Lombards Jazz Club, minutes to Notre Dame, and an easy few more minutes to la Rive Gauche. What more can you ask for? Many thanks again.

We stayed in this wonderfully comfortable apartment for the month of October. We enjoyed both its location and features. There is a new, upscale restaurant downstairs along with a small grocery and a great, reasonably priced cafe. It was nice being next to Place Michelle and the Pompidou Center. Shops, bars, bakeries, and a super pedestrian area are all just outside the door. The apartment uses space well and is very quite, even in the middle of Paris. The rental process was easy and Pierre-Alexandre, the manager, took very good care of all our needs. We would recommend this apartment to everyone and look forward to staying there again.

We were really impressed with the apartment - very clean and spacious, with a lovely comfy couch - great for crashing after lots of sight-seeing! Absolutely perfect location! Many nice restaurants, bars, sidewalk cafes in small cosy alleys. Pierre is a wonderful host and made us very welcome. It was my best experience visiting Paris (I have been 6 or 7 times before). The apartment is small and cosy and had everything we needed, and we had 3 kids with us (12 year-old, 8 year-old and 1 year-old). It was very comfortable. I would recommend it!

Lovely, well-appointed flat in the heart of Paris. A real "find"! Clean and well equipped with modern furniture and a comfortable four-poster bed. The location was particularly good, just yards from Beauberg (The Pompidou Centre). Lots of bars and restaurants close by (the actual flat was really quiet though). Easy access for all the sights. We would definitely recommend this flat.

My wife and I loved the location and were very pleased with everything this apt offered us. What a great way to enjoy an amazing city. Being able to walk to the Louvre & Notre Dame, enjoy a wide variety of local resturations and have quick access to Metro.. made this apt the ideal homebase for us. Would totally recommend and endorse this flat. The entire rental experience was awesome. We will never stay in a hotel again, now that we have discovered GEMS like this.
