Walk to everything in Kinsale! No need to drive. Set in a quiet residential neighborhood, but right in the center of the beautiful village of Kinsale. We're close enough to walk anywhere in about 2 to 5 minutes, but far enough away from all the action to ensure the peace you need when you need it.
We've completely redone the interior design with a modern, fresh feel, while preserving the original beauty and tradition of the exterior of this 300-year-old former fisherman's cottage. We've just returned from another update, adding new curtains, new sofa, some new fixtures and some lovely finishings.
Here's a review that puts it quite nicely:
'It couldn't have been more perfect for us. This cottage was indeed immaculate, charming, tastefully furnished, quiet, and cozy. It really felt like home and everything was conveniently within walking distance. What we also loved was the abundance of natural light that came through the cottage during the day making it such an inspiring place to be in. We would definitely come back to stay. Thank you for making our Kinsale holiday such a great experience!'

Set on a hill above Desmond Castle in the center of town, walking distance to all of the wonderful shops, pubs and restaurants of Kinsale, considered the 'Gourmet Capital' of Ireland.
Nearby attractions include: the Old Head of Kinsale (a beautiful site and also the location of one of the top golf courses in the world), several beautiful beaches, a marina, and some of the most amazing natural scenery in Ireland.
We've recently added all new wood floors, new beds, all new modern designer furniture and fully stocked the kitchen with new utensils, glasses, plates, etc., new washer and dryer, a gas bbq and patio furniture in the expansive back yard.
It's a beautiful place to stay and we welcome you to come and experience all that this wonderful location has to offer.

We spent a week a this cottage while visiting Kinsale and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It was cosy, clean and had everything we needed but, most importantly, was perfectly located for touring the town. We could get to everything in less than a 10 minute walk. Curt was most helpful in getting us oriented and providing recommendations for restaurants and sites. When we did travel out of the town we had no problems parking near the cottage regardless of our time of return. Would definitely recommend this for a couple who wanted to be close to everything without being on the main street of this busy tourist town.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+.

I stayed here for a week with two friends during a sailing event in Kinsale and it was perfect for our needs. Very nice to find a small third kids bedroom upstairs so we all had a room. It's compact but has everything required - including a much used washer and dryer in the shed outside. Smart decor and everything works. Electric shower so no hot water shortage problems. I'm 6ft 1in so yeah the upstairs ceilings were not ideal but a minor issue. Very reasonable value compared to the cost of a hotel for a week. The owner's representatives were both extremely friendly and helpful. Great location for a few days in Kinsale - 5 minutes to the main street and stacks of nice bars and restaurants within easy strolling distance. I'd stay here again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

My husband, two boys (5 & 2 years old) and myself stayed for three nights, it was just perfect for us, the boys loved the attic bedroom with the slanty ceiling, looking at the stars through the velux window. They had great fun playing in the garden while we relaxed with a glass of wine in the afternoon sun which was actually hot! My husband is an architect and he really liked the layout and decor of the house, I loved the furnishings and bed linen - somebody put alot of thought into making this a unique and quality experience! The place was spotless and had a lovely clean, fresh smell when I opened the door, which is always reassuring! The location was great - two minutes walk to the playground and five minutes down to main street, we didn't need to use the car for the duration of our stay. Would love to come back again. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.

This cottage is in a great location and has a washer and dryer. However, overall, we were disappointed. The cottage is VERY small, and being about 6 feet tall, I could not stand up in the upstairs bedrooms. The stair to the upstairs are very steep and treacherous, especially when bringing a suitcase up. The three of us could not sit at the table to eat breakfast together as there were only 2 chairs and a tiny table. There are no closets in the cottage. After travelling for a week and living out of a suitcase, we were looking forward to having a place to unpack and hang clothes up. There is one bureau in the downstairs bedroom, but most of the drawers were stuck and we were unable to open them. The bathroom is very small and was not particularly clean, and the towels were not very clean. I washed them all before I let anyone in my family use them. While it was great having a washer and dryer, they are in a dark, dirty shed in the backyard.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

The "Artist Cottage" in Kinsale was a fabulous place to stay. The location is convenient and picturesque, allowing the traveler to have the experience of living in a neighborhood, vs. being just another tourist. The cottage feels historic, but has contemporary updates. We enjoyed kicking back for a day watching the "Father Ted" DVD after almost 2 weeks of travel. Kurt and Sandra were warm and very welcoming hosts. I highly recommend this rental.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This cozy cottage is perfectly located just a short walk from town on a secluded little lane. We had no problem finding a place to park our car close by. Everyone in the town was friendly and helpful. We traveled with another couple and the space was just right for the 4 of us. The bedrooms are tiny but the beds are so comfortable! And bundles of lavender and books to read on the nightstand. There are actually two bedrooms upstairs - very small - and one down. The kitchen was outfitted with all that we needed to cook dinner the day we traveled to the English Market in Cork - about a half hour away and full of splendid meats, cheeses, seafood and produce. We enjoyed having the privacy of a little back yard for our feast. Everything was clean and well maintained. There were many shops and restaurants just a short walk away, and a choice of grocery stores and a seafood shop, also close by. Definitely walk to Fishy Fishy for lunch - the best fish of our trip. We were lucky enough to have a sunny day and we hiked along the harbor and up to the Charles Fort. We would return in a heartbeat to the coziness of this cottage.Recommended for: Sightseeing.

Hi Paul, We arrived back in Boston last night and I wanted to take a minute to let you know we had an excellent time at your home in Kinsale, it was hard to leave! Sandra and Curt were helpful, with some restaurant suggestions, Crackpots was our favorite, and when we had a punctured tire on St Patrick's Day, recommended the tyre shop up the hill which promptly fixed it. Overall it was one of the nicest vacations we have had, 35 minutes to downtown Cork, we were able to visit our son at UCC several times during the week. Location, location, location, your palce can't be beat! On street parking was never a problem, and we were able to walk and explore all around Kinsale as much as we wanted to. If we get back to Kinsale, we'll be sure to ask if your place is available again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This cozy cottage was just what we were looking for, more space and privacy than a B&B or hotel, it was clean and comfortable, and just a short walk to the pubs, restaraunts and shops of Kinsale. The kitchen was nice to have, especially with kids. I would stay here again or recommend it to a friend.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4
