Start and end your days on the wrap-around porch that is within arm’s reach of the trees. Enjoy the peace of the country in the rocking chairs, or take a hike through our 12 private acres and beyond, where the Nantahala National Forest starts at the back of the property. Hike, bike, or drive 2 miles to Lake Hiwassee, which is formed by the tallest overspill dam in the world.
Enjoy the beauty and convenience of a completely furnished home built in 2002, with hardwood floors and cedar siding. Accommodations include a queen, full, and 2 twin beds, as well as a queen sofa sleeper. Just bring your toothbrush and groceries, the rest is provided. A gas fireplace that never needs cleaning provides romance in the living room, with cathedral ceilings and plenty of windows. Hibernate in the spacious master suite for a Jacuzzi bath, or simply a quiet reading nook with your favorite book.
Year round access to a public boat ramp is a short 15-minute drive, where you can try for bass, walleye, pike, and muskies. Two private marinas offer boat rentals as well. Countless trout-filled streams feed the lake, with stocking in the larger tributaries. Thrill-seekers can take a short drive to the Nantahala and Ocoee Rivers, where whitewater action comes in classes I-V. Other local attractions include the Biltmore Estate, Harrah’s Casino, the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga, John Campbell Folk Art School, Ruby Falls, the Smoky Mountain Railroad, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and the Nantahala, Cherokee, and Pisgah National Forests to name a few.
