We built The Mountain Majesty, our vacation home in the mountains, as a place to get away and relax with family and friends. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Our home was brand new as of June 2007, and beautifully furnished and decorated. We find it hard to leave the peace and quiet, the fresh air and friendly people of North Carolina, but for now, we can only hope to get back as often as possible and meanwhile hope that others will enjoy it as well.
We have a great WEBSITE LINK on this page by the "LINKS TO MORE INFORMATION" section, with lots of pictures of our home, decks, every room and the views! Guaranteed, you'll like what you see! Multi-layered year round mountain views, with each layer a different shade, we've tried to show you some of the many variations on our WEBSITE, as well as photos of the many things to see and do on short day trips, SCROLL DOWN to the "LINKS TO MORE INFORMATION" section to go into our website for additional info.
The views are fantastic, truly panoramic, multi-layered year round big views - 50 mile views of the Blue Ridge and Mount Mitchell. We are oriented west for awesome sunsets that change every night. Early mornings can bring mystical vistas with low lying clouds and mist enveloping the mountains and valleys.
Enjoy the rockers and slider on the various decks, the main deck is covered. Three of the bedrooms have private balconies for some privacy or quiet place to read a book away from the rest of your party. The master suite has an extra long bathtub to stretch out in and soak.
We have a wonderfully central location, right off of Interstate 40 with lots to do and see within an easy 30 to 40 minute drive. We hope you enjoy our favorite place to do it all or nothing! Remember to SCROLL DOWN to the "LINKS TO MORE INFORMATION" section, and take a look at our WEBSITE for a complete preview of what awaits you at The Mountain Majesty.

We just wanted to let you know what a fantastic time we have had at your "Mountain Majesty"! We couldn't have imagined a better place to celebrate this holiday! Your attention to detail in your home makes it feel like a home away from home. All your brochures and notes helped plan an amazing time here...from visiting Biltmore, climbing Chimney Rock, (and watching the "Last of the Mochicans" the night before :) to tubing in the snow on Christmas Day. We will always remember this beautiful place and look forward to coming back again one day! Thank you, Thank you. Happy New Year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The cabin was as described in the listing .The pictures accurately reflect the appearance and amenities. The cabin was very clean and looked very well maintained. The owners could not have been more helpful ,they send us a packet with information about the cabin ,the surrounding area and attractions nearby. And their website answers anything not covered in the packet. We would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day live and spend some quiet days in the beautiful tranquil mountains. The best restaurant is the back deck and the grill.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks so much for taking the time to write .... and your kind words! We totally agree with you on your choice of restaurant. ;-) .... nothing like a home cooked meal looking at the view!

Our visit to the cabin at the top of the hill, with beautiful spansive views of blue and purple mountains made a gray winter day special. We arrived right before an ice storm and therefore had plenty of time to enjoy the nicely appointed cabin from the inside out. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, bowls, knives etc. to make all your meals and cookies! easily. Late the next day we trekked day to the quaint waterfall in the community. We had a wonderful visit with family and would hope to visit again sometime.Recommended for: Sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind comments. So glad you made it there safely in one of the rare ice storms they have in those parts. Keep us in mind for another visit sometime.

the house and locale are beautiful. the house comes with everything you need to have an enjoyable stay--full game room with pool & foosball tables, DVDs, etc. we spent most of our time there out on one of the many balconies watching the wild turkeys, deer and rabbits. The website is accurate with its photos & descriptions and the cabin is clean and stocked with all needed basics. Only caution is please note location before you rent. you are a good 30-45 minutes from Asheville and its surroundings (Biltmore Estates, Farmers Market, riverside cemetary, art galleries, Blue Ridge, etc). Work this timing into your schedules if you are planning on sightseeing or shopping. Good fairly close restaurant is the countryside BBQ close to Marion.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We're happy that you enjoyed our mountain home as much as we do! We use Asheville as a reference point for renters to find us as we are, as you say, about 30-45 minutes away from downtown Asheville and The Biltmore House. We make it very plain in our website, www.TheMountainMajesty.com, what our location is and maps of the general area. We feel that being that close to Asheville, but not right in the vicinity, is a fair trade off for being able to enjoy the remoteness of a mountain experience. You are right, with a little planning and allowing for that extra 1/2 hour to get to Asheville, our mountain home can be a wonderful experience. There are so many great locations to visit, all within an hours drive from us. We hope you'll return again some day. Thanks for writing! :)

We loved this house - it is as beautiful as pictured. The owners are very organized and have everything easy to find, including items such as tv/dvd manuals, menus from local restaurants, a collection of brochures for local sites, etc. They include extra touches such as providing an ice chest and picnic basket as well as throws for chilly nites by the fire. It rained continually while we were there but we still had a nice time. The comfort of the house had a lot to do with that. Oh - and the master bath had the longest and deepest bathtub I've seen - it was FABULOUS. The only suggestion I would have is to increase the number of towels provided and to improve the lighting in the game room (the dark rainy days made it too dark to play cards down there). If you're coming here, you need to know that you are out from town and need to bring food with you. The local restaurants were ok but nothing to get excited about. Asheville is about 45 minutes away. Great owners - easy to work with. Be sure and watch for the wild turkeys just down the road from the house.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Thanks for your wonderful review and suggestions. We take this very serious and will act upon them. We know the mountains need the rain, but too bad it decided to rain so much during your stay. Glad you had a good time despite the rain.
