We built The Mountain Majesty, our vacation home in the mountains, as a place to get away and relax with family and friends. We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. Our home was brand new as of June 2007, and beautifully furnished and decorated. We find it hard to leave the peace and quiet, the fresh air and friendly people of North Carolina, but for now, we can only hope to get back as often as possible and meanwhile hope that others will enjoy it as well.

The views are fantastic, truly panoramic, multi-layered year round big views - 50 mile views of the Blue Ridge and Mount Mitchell. We are oriented west for awesome sunsets that change every night. Early mornings can bring mystical vistas with low lying clouds and mist enveloping the mountains and valleys.
Enjoy the rockers and slider on the various decks, the main deck is covered. Three of the bedrooms have private balconies for some privacy or quiet place to read a book away from the rest of your party. The master suite has an extra long bathtub to stretch out in and soak.
We have a wonderfully central location, right off of Interstate 40 with lots to do and see within an easy 30 to 40 minute drive. We hope you enjoy our favorite place to do it all or nothing! We just wanted to let you know what a fantastic time we have had at your "Mountain Majesty"! We couldn't have imagined a better place to celebrate this holiday! Your attention to detail in your home makes it feel like a home away from home. All your brochures and notes helped plan an amazing time here...from visiting Biltmore, climbing Chimney Rock, (and watching the "Last of the Mochicans" the night before :) to tubing in the snow on Christmas Day. My sister and her family joined me and mine at this lovely house for a weekend vacation together. The views from the house (from every direction) were literally breathtaking! We also enjoyed stargazing out on the patio at night with hot cocoa in hand. The home itself was beautiful and clean inside and out, and we really enjoyed the pool table and foosball table. The neighborhood's hiking trail to the waterfall was very beautiful, too. We absolutely loved it all and highly recommend this mountain home - it was exactly what we were looking and hoping for.

What a beautiful place!! The views were awesome and the cabin met every need. My family had a wonderful time. We were there to visit Biltmore in Asheville. The cabin was a little further out than I anticipated. Considering our plans for the next day which was to just hang around the cabin, it was fine. I was hoping to be about 45 minutes away from Biltmore but it was more like 60min. with Friday traffic. But I must say...once you get settled in to the cabin and sit on the deck to see that sunset, all your worries will melt away. My children (8 & 13) were well entertained in the recreation room. Everything was beautifully decorated. Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything. Looking forward to staying again. For Charlotte travelers, Fortune Rd is unmarked and you will not see it from Hwy 64.

My wife and I and 3 other couples stayed at the Mountain Majesty for 3 wonderful nights earlier this month (Dec 08). We really can't say enough good things about the property. The setting is peaceful and beautiful and the home is all you could ask for in a getaway rental. We recommend the property highly.

Dear Barbara and John, thank you so much for sharing your beautiful house with us. We travel every year from Germany to a different state in the US to visit them all before we travel "upstairs". Your house in the mountains is definitely the place to be in North Carolina: very clean and spotless, with a cozy atmosphere and great porches and rocking chairs to relax and just watch. We went there early October and every morning the mountains "dressed" differently: in sunshine, fog or rain, all beautiful! Thanks again!

We had my 60th birthday celebration and family reunion at your delightful home in the mountains. Everyone had their own space, and the younger generation loved the game room. The views were spectacular any time of the day! We all appreciated the generously supplied kitchen and made use of the gas grill for one meal. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful home with us.

My family and I stayed at this beautiful home in May. We were there for a week and did not want to leave. We absolutely loved the home and the views. The property is conveniently located just south of Marion, and is very convenient to many local attractions. The only issue we had was that their cleaning service was not the best. We had an issue when we got there that the dining area was not clean. We had to clean it ourselves. When were preparing to depart, when the cleaning service arrived and notified us that we had to leave because they had to clean. It was over an hour before we had to be out and our son was a sleep. Barbara and John took care of the issue and we left on time with a well rested son. I understand that their cleaning issues have since been resolved and should no longer be an issue. This is the only reason it got 4 stars from me. Otherwise it would have been a 5 star visit.
