Green Acres is the place to be! This newly renovated lake front home is on the eastern side of Lake Glenville with a gentle slope and a few steps to the lake. It is only 4.8 miles from the Cashiers cross roads. The new private splinter-free dock has mooring for a boat, is large enough to play or sit on and has a ladder for lake swimmers.
The house was renovated under the guidance of Atlanta architect, Jack Davis, and is two floors. The main floor features a master suite with french doors showing fabulous south and west lake views, a huge closet and master bath with two sinks, granite countertops, custom cabinets and jetted tub. The main salon opens to an incredible roofed porch where you can sit and enjoy the mountain climate, rain or shine, or eat al fresco on the dining table made especially for this spot. The floors of the main floor are antique heart pine, the walls are barnwood and the kitchen features top-of-the line appliances, a walk-in pantry, new cabinets and granite countertops with four stools surrounding a rounded eating bar. The play room features an Olhausen pool table and a seating/living area to use when being entertained by either pool players or a 42 inch flat screen television with DVD. The main salon has a wonderful stone fireplace with gas starter, a hearth for seating, incredible, expansive lake views and another flat screen television. The lower floor features three additional bedrooms (one master suite with king bed and private bath, one bedroom with twin beds and a bunk room with two bunk beds and two trundles), a living room with a television, checkers table, living area and a custom wood bar made from local woods. The lower level also contains a laundry room with a washer, two dryers and an extra refrigerator.
Just outside on the lawn, between the lake and the house, is a hammock nesetled between two trees where you can absord the fresh mountain air and relax with the sounds of the lake lapping at the shore. There is also a fire pit where you can enjoy the warmth of a fire in the winter or roast hot dogs or marsmallows for your s'mores in the summer. This house has it all!

October 21-December 31-$3,500/week. We prefer to rent on a weekly basis but
some 3 - 4 night stays may be available at $575 per night (when available)

Why the Owner Chose Glenville
What could be better than a house in the mountains and on a lake? Dad is not a beach person and I grew up going to beach all my life. I wanted water, he wanted mountains....this was the perfect combination. After looking at lake front properties for 4+ years, we finally found this house. The perfect location (on the East side of the lake not too far from 107 but far enough from 107 so that it does not interfere with the tranquility of the setting), a gentle slope to the dock (so that you are just a few short and easy steps from the house to the dock and not a long trek), not too big or too small, good bones....it just needed some serious renovation which we completed in 2007. It is on a point and has beautiful western and southern views. This is it and remains a very special place for our family!
The Unique Benefits at this House
This house has it all. It has the lake activities, is close to Cashiers so you can make it to and from town very easily, it is a great location but you will never want to leave. The stacked stone fire place is something I sit by winter and summer. The pool table is great entertainment when the weather is not quite suitable for outdor activities, the two grills for charcoal cooking or quick hot dogs on the gas grill are perfect for a grill lover; the porch setting is something else and offers great tranquility throughout the day! My children love the fire pit winter and summer and we have cooked many a s'more and hot dog on it. The house lives well. We love it!

We are a family of 5....both mom and dad work and the children all have very busy lives. We live in Atlanta and this rental is really our second home where we find the time to be together as a family and slow down the pace of life in a beautiful setting.

This was our first time to use VRBO to rent a vacation home... and our first time to stay in the Cashier's area... And both were great experiences solely because of Green Acres and the Brannons! They have a lovely, comfortable, fully equipped home tucked into a perfect place on Lake Glenville! We couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay with our kids! From the super-comfy beds and the gorgeous, well-stocked kitchen to the perfect outdoor dining deck and the great dock on the lake... we rested, ate and played very well!! :) Their notes on the place were organized and very helpful and made for a seamless stay! We will most definitely be returning to Green Acres!!!
