Built at the beginning of the XXth century in a classical bourgeois style, a testimony of the harmonious and stylish architecture of the this epoch, the house stands proudly at the entrance of a 20,000 meter square park.
You will be charmed by the vast terrace opening onto the surrounding park, where you can gather on the lovely summer nights of Perigord. You will enjoy walking in the alleys under the cool shade of the maritime pine trees, century old cedars, tilleuls, along with cherry and apple trees. Nearby you will also find many small lakes.
The Area:
* Perigord is famous for its lovely countryside scattered with castles, prehistoric sites, villages, as well as for delicacies such as "foie gras" and truffles. The area will provide you with as many varied activities as you could wish for: Perigueux with its Gallo-roman town, Sarlat (only 50 km away) and its medieval houses.
* For those with an interest in prehistoric sites, Limeyrat is an ideal location: Lascaux and Montignac’s famous prehistoric caves are only 20 km away.
* Riding is one of the best way to see the area and there are possibilities to rent horses nearby. Fishing, hiking, golf, kayak, tennis, cycling, and swimming are only some of the activities that are available in the area. Should you be interested in any of these activities, we will provide you with more information.
* The Village of Thenon (10 km - 3000 inhabitants) has all the essential shops and services (a doctor’s practice, pharmacist, post office, banks, etc.). Located only 1 km away from the house, the small village of Limeyrat will cater for your most immediate and essential needs: it boasts a bakery, grocery store, and even a local pub.
The House:
* Ground Floor: the house has a large and stylish dining room, with a wooden floor, wooden sculpted panels and a chimney. It is furnished with beautiful ancient wood furniture, typical from the Perigord. The table can welcome up to 20 guests. Next to the dining room is a living room/library with a large chimney, sofas, table, television, and lovely antique furniture. The kitchen is also large and fully-equipped.
* First Floor: Four bedrooms of equal size open on the hallway. (four double beds altogether plus one single bed). They are all equipped with bathrooms and elegant furniture.
* Second Floor: Two bedrooms, four beds on total.
