We spent a week here and fished the area. It was great watching the sunrise on the ocean from our balcony! There was 5 of us and we had everything we needed. We plan to return with more family and will rent 2 levels! It was clean and well maintained, and the owner was nearby if we needed them.

YES THEY HAVE FREE WI-FI!!! I say because we had to be in contact with our company. The owner Ed was great and responded when we called about a light being out. We have a 4 year old and 6 1/2 year old and a 20 year old, my mother in her 60's and us (a couple). We stayed on the top floor. The house is next to a bridge but you don't really hear the traffic unless a big truck goes by. It is very close to Little Creek base...so great for Navy peeps which we are. The t.v. doesn't work in bedroom but we didn't want to watch anyway..you might. Our room has a small shower, sink and toilet bathroom. The hallway bathroom has a tub (great for kids but we had to ask Ed for the stopper) and the shower doesn't work in there (not sure why and I didn't ask). We all just used the other shower and the kids used the bath. There are pan, pots, plates, bowls, even a wine opener, and pretty much any kitchen item. There is enough parking for 4+ cars. There was other adults staying in the apartment below us. They had a HUGE boat and a BIG truck. We had a mini-van and little car...Enough parking with some space left over. The living room is small and the kitchen table holds 4 people. But we ate in shifts. The best part of this trip as another mother said was the adults could sit on the beach and we never lost sight of the kids. I never realized how much I love that! Our doggie loved the other dogs on the beach. The community here is very very active outside. Was so nice to see. We walked to Hell's Kitchen which was good food but very pricey. Also walked to Zia Marie's and was the BEST PIZZA!!! Wish we found that place on day 1! Eat there!!! Cheap too! The only downside was the amount of sand that came in with us. Hello (I say to myself) it is the beach and we had to bring our own towels for showers/bath. Plus be careful as the deck and stairs cause splinters as my kids found out. Wear your shoes on them. Otherwise it was amazing and yes I would go again and recommend highly!!! LOVED THE PRICE TOO!!! We couldn't have done a beach vacation otherwise. Thanks Ed!!!

i booked this property from aug 6 to the 13th 2011. since this was my first time at this location i didn't know what to expect. now that i am back home i can honestly give a review of our experiences. we shared the 2nd floor condo with 2 other families, a total of 10 people. the suite was more that big enough for all of us! the rooms were clean and the kitchen had everything you could want. we spent most of our time fishing/swimming on the beach in front of the house. we bbq a few times and had a picnic on the beach. we enjoyed our time more at this location than the crowded virginia beach!! everyone enjoyed there time here that we have already made plans to come back next year!! also, if you love fish, but don't like fishing, there is an open fish market called lynnhaven just a few miles on shore drive just over the bridge.

I just returned from a week vacationing with my family. Our time here was even better than anticipated. My kids (4 & 6 yrs old ) LOVED LOVED LOVED this place. My daughter kept saying she wanted to live there forever. They loved the fact that they could go out on the beach at any time and I loved that we could go out with very little preparation. I left my beach cart in the car the whole time. I felt comfortable by myself on the beach with 2 small kids and didn't worry about them disappearing. This part of the beach felt just about private. There were just a handful of people there at a time. The bay water was calmer than the ocean and was perfect for the kids to play in. All the locals that I spoke with stated this spot in particular was the best in Virginia Beach. The scenery what amazing. My 76 yr old father came with us at the last minute. He has never cared for the beach but from the time we arrived spoke about rebooking for next year. He loved the relaxing atmosphere and would sit on the deck over looking the bay every morning with his coffee. The condo was perfect. It was nicely set up, clean and comfortable. Having the washer, dryer and dishwasher was wonderful. We arrived with a load of groceries and only felt the need to eat out only a few times during the stay which left plenty of money to do the fun things with the kids (pirate cruise, fishing charter and dolphin watching) . The only thing that could have made it absolutely perfect would be an elevator. But once you get your luggage up the steps it wasn't a big deal at all as long you don't have problems climbing stairs (unfortunately like my father). I definately recommend this condo... Oh FYI, trash day is Wednesday.

Our family stayed at the second floor condo on Chick's Beach. To say the views of the ocean, sunrise and sunset are spectacular is to put it mildly. As this was our first vacation, it lived up to every expectation we could have had. The condo was clean, air conditioned and nicely appointed. Only 1 bedroom had a TV but we lived with it. Be careful of the jellyfish! Bring white vinegar for any jellyfish bites. Also, bring toilet paper, paper towels and garbage bags as they are not provided. The appliances are all new and the washer and dryer are a real plus with all the swimming you are going to do! There is not much for the site seeing person to do. This is more of a relax on the beach, grill you meals and spend the evenings visiting with the neighbors on the balcony or enjoying the view. We would recommend it for a family vacation and would definitely come again!

We stayed on the 3rd floor condo in 2010 and enjoyed it so much that we book another week in 2011. The condo is clean and roomy. It has a beautiful view of the bay from the deck. We enjoy this almost "private" beach since the closest high-rises are at least a couple miles away. We were concerned that being close to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge (as you can see in the pictures) it would be noisy. As it turns out, we don’t even hear the traffics most of the time, just the calming sounds of the waves. There are a couple restaurants within walking distance; and a short drive to the main road are groceries stores and shopping centers. VA Beach Boardwalk is about 20 mins away. The owner is very accommodating and friendly.

We stayed on the second floor condo in July of 2010. The overall appearance and upkeep of the property was excellent. It was great having the washer and dryer, and dishwasher available as well as the grills on the lower level. When we stayed there was no television in the master bedroom which was a bit of a bummer since it was shown in the pictures, and in order to relax and watch some tube we had to share the one in the living room with the kids. Other than that, the place is great, the beach is near private, and the balcony was wonderful. The bay is much calmer than the Atlantic, but there is very little night life around the property, nice for some, not for others...also, WATCH OUT FOR JELLYFISH! All three of our daughters were stung during the week. They make a repellent "seasafe" check it out online for it is expensive once you get there. We found out that the bay is overloaded with types of jellyfish, would have been nice to know ahead of time!

We really enjoyed our stay at this beach house. It is directly on the beach, next to the famous Cheasapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. If you must go to VB boardwalk, it's an enjoyable drive (less than 20 min) along Shore Dr. It's a short walk to a couple of restaurants and a convenience store from the house, and another restaurant on the beachfront a few steps away was being renovated. The house was very clean, and had evergthing you would expect from a vacation rental. We particularly enjoyed the covered bayfront porch. We will definitely recommend it to our friends, and will want to come back again.

We stayed one week and couldn't have asked for a better vacation. Being off the main strip of virginia beach makes this location perfect. Amazing restaurants very close and a wonderful neighborhood. Very clean and might as well be a private beach. We had much of that area of the beach all to ourselves. The house was perfect and plenty big for our whole family. It was clean and had everything we could have wanted in the kitchen as well as laundry facilities. I would recommend this house to everyone and hope to come back again.. I must also add the sunset from the balcony every night was just beautiful!!!!!

We have been visitting Virginia Beach for many years (20+) and I will never stay at any other condo. We stayed at the condo in June and were very pleased with it. It is a short 20 minute drive to the boardwalk on Virginia Beach. We made the drive a few times and were amazed at how packed the beach was. We were excited to return to the condo and the wide open sandy beach. We spent many happy hours out on the oversized balcony facing the water. We also enjoyed the little Italian restaurant that was in walking distance of the condo. This may be the best kept secret in Virginia Beach.

My husband and I recently stayed at this property with our two dogs and had a great experience. The condo itself was very clean and in a great location right on the beach. The neighbors were friendly and the owners even stopped by to make sure everything was going well and to see if we needed anything. One thing to point out is that since this is a multi-level condo, you will occasionally hear noise, mainly the patio door opening and closing. This is obviously to be expected since it is a multi-level condo, but it was something I wanted to point out since we had a group of people below us that were up late at night. Basically, the noise was slightly noticeable, but not enough that it caused an issue for us or kept us from getting sleep. Overall I would definitely recommend this rental, especially to anyone who is looking for a great beach getaway!

If you have a well behaved dog, this is a wonderful place for you! It is directly on the beach in a lovely secluded community, but close to stores and activities . The owner is accommodating, but respects your privacy. There is a covered bayfront porch that does not get direct sunlight that is very relaxing. Our golden, who thinks she is a person, loved the porch and the ability to roam on the beach with us since it was off-season. She was spotted sitting in her own beach chair with us on occasion. (not kidding) Our college age daughter enjoyed visiting us (with a few well-behaved friends, of course). We look forward to visiting this spot frequently.

Our family came to Virginia Beach to run/watch the Shamrock Half Marathon along with our three dogs. We couldn't of found a better place to stay! This place was in a great location. The restaurants/bars are within walking distance, there is a convinence store around the corner and other shopping is just a short distance away. The beachfront was perfect, with few people in front of the house, friendly neighbors, and a great view! This was the first time we were able to bring our pets on vacation with us and it was a great place to start! The dogs loved the beach just as much as we did! The owners were great to work with and always available! We look forward to coming back next year!!

Our family came to Virginia Beach for a week to run/watch the Shamrock Half Marathon in March. We found this place to be a great place for us and our three dogs to stay while visiting. The owners were very accommodating to us and allowed us to bring all three of our pets. They also allowed us to stay in the house even when we arrived a day earlier than planned. The house is in a great location. The beach is right there and usually not very busy in front of the house. The neighbors were friendly. You could walk to many different restaurants/bars and shopping was just around the corner. The house itself was perfect for us. There are three good size rooms and plenty of room in the kitchen and living room. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony and deck as well. We really enjoyed our stay and couldn't of asked for a better place to be!! We look forward to staying here again soon!

My family and I had a great time while staying here. The owners were always available if we had any questions. we got to meet them when we first arrived and Ed offered us the use of the grill anytime we wanted. The property was clean, well-maintained, and they remolded the kitchen so it looks even better than pictured! The location is absolutely perfect! The neighbors were all friendly and respectful, which is great when you have two little ones running all around. This was a perfect place for my family to stay and we will definately be back next year!

The location of this property is perfect for relaxing at the beach: short walk to restaurants, short drive to shopping center and attractions. Traffic on beach in front of the property is light, perfect for pets or families to enjoy. Property owner is very considerate to your schedule and checks in on occasion to ensure stay is pleasant. I would recommend this property, and plan on returning next year.

My family stayed at this property in the beginning of August, 2008. Everything was as promised. The property is newly updated with all appliances as well as all amenities listed.Owners were delightful to work with and made sure to accommodate all of our needs. Our family very much enjoyed the private feel of the beach along with the stretch of low depth ocean water. Absolutley perfect for young and old alike. We have stayed at several oceanfront condos up and down the East Coast and have found this to be our favorite! I am also a travel consultant who has recommended this property to all family and clients interested in a wonderful beachfront vacation. The condos are also economically priced! Don't hesitate to rent this property. We are definitely planning our first return of many.

This rental property was better than it's discription. The owner was on site 4 out of the 7 days. Always helpful, friendly and informative. We have recommended it to our family and friends. Close to attractions but far enough away from the crowds of virginia beach. The kids loved the beach at our steps and we found everything clean and the neighbors friendly. Eating out was in our buget and the food great. Ed (the owner) allowed us to use his gas grill when we wanted to eat home. Our dog enjoyed himself also.

This is not a house rental, this is a floor in a house rental. The floor we were on had sleeping space for 6, not 8-10 as described. There were only 3 double beds, no queens, no sofa bed, and no bunk area. There were not linens provided for 10, only the 3 double beds in the house. There was no outdoor grill on our floor, only the lower level. We were told we could use it, but pay a $15 fuel fee. There was only one tub/shower combo, not two. When we called the "owner's" phone number listed on this site, we were connected to the property manager, not the owner, who told us we were being difficult, and that we should have looked at the owner's website, not this one. The location was absolutely perfect, but the outright lies in the advertisement made our trip more expensive and stressful.
Owner response:It may get confusing for some of us when two condos are in one building. This is exactly what happened to Ms. Wendy. This review should prompt the potential renters to view the photos of both condos and the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, and living rooms on each floor and seek further clarification if needed. We always send a notification after the initial inquiry for you to go to our property website and view all of the above information and to see what our property has to offer. This website does not have all the pictures you might want to see but it gives you the general idea of the property lay-out and the floor plans. Wendy was asked to go to our website and view the property and we exchanged about 10 e-mails and phone conversations to clarify that the 2nd floor condo has 3 bedrooms with queen size beds in each bedroom that would sleep 6 adults!!! There is a leather couch and a leather loveseat in the living room that can sleep two and others can use sleeping bags and/or floor mat to accommodate up to 10 people. Wendy was still confused and she had visited our website and viewed a bunk bed in the 3rd floor condo. She questioned me about the bunkbeds when she had arrived at the property and thought she was going to use them as well. You can not please everybody!!!!! This condo has two full baths and our property has a gas grill on the 1st floor deck next to a staircase to the beach as the City of Virginia Beach does not allow gas-grills on the balconies due to fire hazards. We did not advertise any grill on the balconies either and we did not charge Wendy $15.00 for gas-grill usage. As you see comments from other reviews that week, property owner had visited his guests on site. Wendy had more than the allowed guests staying at the condo. After all this confusion, we still welcome Wendy and her family to vacation with BeachfrontRentalsVA for years to come.
