  We stayed here for 1 week. We assumed a key would be waiting for us at the desk. When we arrived, the front desk does not deal at all with outside bookings and we had to contact the property manager who told us an email had been sent to us with information on how to get in (we checked again later and no email was ever sent). We enjoyed the property... made use of the gym, pool, and beach. The pool was very crowded during the day with lots of children, but was great to use at night. The unit was nice and spacious, but wasn't well cleaned when we arrived. It appeared clean, but after 30 min of walking on the floor, our feet were filthy. Also, not enough toilet tissue or dish detergent was provided considering 4 adults and a child were staying there for the week (we were given a total of 4 single rolls of toilet tissue to last the week). Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Great location, a little bit pricey.

When a guest makes a reservation with us they are renting a private condo and we are very clear in our contract that the guest will receive their check in instructions via e mail 10 days prior to instruction. We actually sent them 18 days prior to check in so perhaps the e mail was overlooked. We did confirm receipt of the e mail. We are sorry for the guest did not receive them and we are not sure why they would not have called prior to leaving. However, we gave them their keyless entry code over the phone and they were able to start thier vacation. Sunset Vista is a very family friendly destination. There are children in this resort. That is one reason why families just love this resort. There are other children to play with and moms and dads to meet. We are sorry if this guest was not pleased with the children in the pool. Please note that once four people step out on the balcony with bare feet their feet will get dirty and they will track it inside. The balcony is an outside, uncovered structure. The floor is steam cleaned after each guest. We clearly state in our contract and check in instructions that we provide starter rolls of toilet paper and paper towels and that all dish/laundry soaps are to be provided by the guest. We are sorry that this guest did not see that in any of our literature and that they thought we had to high of prices during spring break. We consistently offer some of the lowest rates in Sunset Vista. We appreciate your feedback and we hope that we will see you again.

  Normally we will rent directly from the resort but in this case decided to rent through VRBO and I must say it was well worth it. From what I saw of the resort rooms, our room was much nicer and had some upgrades that the resort rooms did not have. Booking through MakoVistas was very easy. I would certainly recommend to other families travelling to Treasure Island.

  We live in Orlando and vacation on the gulf coast once a year. We have stayed in several resorts and condos up and down the beach. The Sunset Vista condo was fantastic! The full kitchen saved us a lot of money as it was easy to prepare meals for six. The atmosphere was laid back and family friendly. The condo itself was neat and clean and stocked with almost everything you could need. The beach was close to the property and easily accessible. If you have ever been to Treasure Island, the distance to the actual water can be several hundred feet from your property. The pool was inviting and never too crowded. We used the tiki bar on two of tlhe days, and the service was great. Grocery stores and drug stores are within a mile and John's Pass(shopping and dining) was very close. The Rays game was affordable and not far from the property. We love Treasure Island and will certainly return to this condo!

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car.

  WE DID NOT WANT TO GO HOME...THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO SPEND A VACATION.THE BEACH WAS VERY NICE IT'S SO BIG THAT EVERYONE IS SPREAD OUT AND NOT SITTING ON TOP OF EACH OTHER...THE POOL IS WONDERFUL WE COULDN'T GET OUR OLDER KIDS OUT OF IT. THE ONLY DOWNSIDE WE HAD WAS THE PEOPLE ABOVE US LIKED TO MOVE FURNITURE AROUND VERY EARLY IN THE MORNING..I WILL TRY AND GET A ROOM ON THE TOP FLOOR MY NEXT VISIT.

  This was a great place to spend a week (8 days)! The weather was great except for 1 day. This condo was great. Clean, well equipped with anything you would want or need. Am so glad we could spend and extra day and "unwind". Hope to return some other time.

  This was a great place to spend a week (8 days). The weather was great except fro "Ida". Spent much of our time looking for a good bargain in real estate. May buy here. This condo was great. Clean; well equipped with anything you would want or need. Am so glad we could spend an extra day and unwind. Hope to return soon.

  We do not want to go home (Maryland). It is 43 degrees at home. We just came in from the pool. Really enjoyed our stay. Our son Nate who is 2.5 loved the kiddie pool or kitty cat pool as he called it and our daughter Maddie (7) loved our early morning walks on the beach. The games and books provided were also enjoyed by out kids. Thank you Jill for a great condo rental, where everything is clean. We would love to come back.

  Let me start by saying that I would give this 4.99 stars if it would allow. The only complaint would be the fire alarms that kept going off for the entire facility. During the week we expierenced 6 false fire alarms including 1 at 11:30pm. This was extremely frustrating and it was still an issue the day we left. This was a problem with the facility management and not the unit owners. Otherwise, we had a wonderful time with the rental. VERY clean and a great facility. The full kitchen with dishes and utensils provided was great for doing some home cooking. We also spent most of our time in the two pools with our 6,5, and 1 year old boys. They were thrilled with the pool facilities. I highly recommend the rental and hope the management can get the alarm issues fixed asap.

  Our week was great! The condo was clean and well appointed with all the needs one would want for a beach vacation. The pool was great, although a lot of toddlers in it as the kids pool was closed all week. The location on the beach was wonderful and access was super easy/close, and golf was nearby for my daughter and husband. As for eating out, we are always pleased at the Salt Rock Cafe. Dealing with Jill was a pleasure and we look forward to seeing you again soon!

  The best thing about our stay was the view from unit 507 W. It was beautiful. The condo was very nice too. Both pools were great and met the needs of kids of all ages. Beds were very comfortable and firm. No backaches the whole 2 weeks we were there. The atmosphere at the cafe was pleasant and at times the tiki bar music provided a lot of atmostphere. Downsides include that our unit was over the pool and the pool never closed at 10:00 p.m. like it was supposed to. One night it stayed open until almost midnight. Although we couldn't hear the pool noise from inside the condo, it made sitting on the deck less pleasant. Also, the coffee maker was not very good at all. Despite buying expensive coffee, the maker just couldn't pull it off. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and will definitely consider coming again.

  We stayed in Unit 505 North, renting through Makosvista and found the room to be exactly as described. Although you cannot view the sunset from this room, it was perfect, clean and had everything we could possibly need for a weeks vacation as well as many extras described in other reviews. My only complaint would be the noise from the chairs moving across the ceramic tile from the rooms above. This went on at all hours and made it hard to sleep as it was very loud. My daughter would not sleep in the other bedroom because this scared her! Outside of that, the rooms are very quiet. The pool is beautiful and kept very clean. We did have couple of times the pool had to be closed becasue of young children not being taken to the bathroom! This is to be blamed on the parents though, not the hotel. There is shopping and several resteraunts nearby at Johns Pass. Parking there was a hassle each time we went. We loved the Middle Grounds Grill for upscale food, the VIP lounge had excellent Mexican food but is very small and dark. Caddy's on the beach is a fun spot for lunch and the kids! As long as the noise from the ceramic tile gets addressed, we will be back! Thanks to Jill for being so accommodating!

We have just updated to new bed dressings, new beach towels and at least two beach chairs in each unit to make you feel at home. We are sorry that you had a family above you who made too much noise. We have been at 95% occupancy all summer and unfortunately some families may be a tad excited while on a beach vacation. We can offer a couple of suggestions regarding parking at the popular John's Pass Village: there is a parking garage on the right as soon as you enter the village-it is under the Bubba Gump Shrimp Restaurant, or you can take the trolly that stops right in front of the condo, or walking is a 1/2 mile but probably not advised with very young children on a hot day. We are thrilled you were able to find some restaurants that you enjoyed visiting. Caddy's is a fun spot to visit. The VIP does have good mexican food, however, it is dark and we would not really recommend it for children in the evening as the bar can be, well, a bar. We look forward to hosting you again.

  What an amazing vacation my family and I had staying at this condo. Jill (the owner/manager) was excellent to work with, leaving lots of extras in the condo for us to enjoy. Free beach toys, umbrella etc. for the kids; free brouchers, maps, tips etc. The condo was in great condition, very clean and comfortable. The resort itself was wonderful also. Great pools both for adults and children, nice cafe with sundries to include snacks, drinks etc. Overall, I highly recommend this property, and we will return again and again. Thanks Jill for everything!

  We just returned from our wonderful vacation in Treasure Island Florida. The condo felt like home; the view of the Gulf was great. We enjoyed the sunsets and our morning walks on the beach. We would recommend this condo as a great place to vacation. We hope to return again in the future.

  Our family of five stayed for spring break 4/4/09-4/11/09. We had a wonderful time in this location.The unit was very clean and new. It was a bit small in the second bedroom for two teenage girls. The view from this 5th floor unit was more of the road than the beach. You can see the beach but not really hear it, you hear a lot of road traffic. I liked the area, lots for teens to do. Pool area nice, the beach was fantastic. We did not find any beach chairs in the unit, so we bought some, and left them. The rental process was very easy.We would stay again but try to rent a unit with ocean front being careful not to choose one right over the tiki bar.

When a guest reserves a unit earlier they have a better chance of getting the location in the building that they desire.   We just spent a great Spring Break week at Sunset Vistas. The condo is in excellent condition with fabulous beach and sunset views. It is a very short walk from the complex to the beach and we enjoyed our daily walks. We also had fun shell hunting. The condo has lots of extras like beach chairs and pool/beach toys. We visited friends at other resorts along Treasure Island and we definitely had the nicer condo. The kids loved the pool and the ice cream cart the most. We ate at 3 different restaurants at John's Pass and had good meals at all 3. We also enjoyed miniture golf at Smugglers Cove in Maderia Beach just 5 minutes up the road (a little pricey but fun none the less). I would highly recommend this property to anyone and we hope to visit again next year.

  We vacationed for 10 days in mid march. 2 adults and 2 kids ( 2 years old and 4 months). The condo was perfectly setup for families. The in room washing machine came in vary handy with kids. The pools were heated and never busy. The beach was fantastic. The pictures you see on this site don't lie. This was the first family vacation to Florida and i can guarantee that it won't be our last. Thanks, Jill for sharing your condo with our family.

  Our stay at the Sunset Vista could not have been more perfect! It was perfect for our family of four (two adults, one teenager, and a 10-year-old). The accommodations were clean, well kept and our ocean-front condo was just what we needed for a winter getaway. My husband and I enjoyed a walk on the beach every morning watched the sun come up. The pool and hot tub were exceptional and the grounds were very well taken care of. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a fun, relaxing vacation. It is within walking distance to John's Pass. Thanks!

  Two adults and three teens for this terrific condo. It is clean and has everything you need for an enjoyable stay. Little things like beach chairs, numerous towels, three tv's and more make this the perfect accommodation. It is easily the best place we have ever stayed. Internet was of the wired variety so you plug in directly. If you have one though, bring a router. There is wireless but not in the unit and not reliable. Combination keypad is very useful. No keys or cards! Great salt water pool and the gulf is a 30 second walk. The unique shape of the building gives everyone a great view of the gulf on a very nice patio. Need pizza? Try Original Pizza down the street. John's Pass less than a mile walk up the street (over-rated but necessary if you want to do things like seadoos or wind-sailing, etc.). Don't hesitate to book this place, it is outstanding.

  We had a great week at Sunset Vistas. The beach is wonderful and very close (we noticed that some of the other gulf- front condos on Treasure Island were set much farther back and required quite a hike down to the water). We had a beautiful view from our condo and the sunsets were amazing. The beach never felt crowded. The building is new and well-maintained. My kids loved the pools. We appreciated the extras provided in the condo, like beach towels and toys. While the rooms were a bit smaller than what we're used to, we knew that going in and the size was fine for 2 adults and 2 small kids. While there wasn't a huge selection of restaurants to choose from, there were plenty. We enjoyed Sloppy Joe's, which has seating outside overlooking the gulf. We never got around to trying the cafe at the property, but the menu had a nice selection. We took the kids on the pirate cruise in Clearwater and they had a great time! Jill was great to work with and everything was as described. We would rent from this company again.

  We had a wonderful stay in this condo in July of 2008. We took my husband's 80 year old mother and our 22 year old son and we all loved it. It was our second stay at this complex and I am sure we will return. The area has lots of restaurants and entertainment for all ages. There is a great Tiki bar by the pool and they have music on the weekend in the evenings. The complex also has a cafe that provides breakfast and sandwiches. There is also an ice cream shop right beside the building. Umbrellas, cabanas, and chairs can also be rented on the beach right in front of the complex. The condo was clean and well stocked with everything you would expect plus nice extras such as beach chairs, beach towels, and beach toys. There were plenty of extra pillows and blankets for the sleeper sofa. The view of the gulf is fantastic. Our communication with the owner Jill by e-mail and phone was prompt and friendly. Making the arrangements was quick and painless. I highly recommend this property for anyone.

  We would recommend this property. It was a very nice, right on the beach, and close to everything. They had a live band on the weekends which played some really good music,they had people up and dancing. We got to watch from our balcony which was really good. The pools where clean and the hot tubs were nice and HOT!!! The beach was also really nice. I spent most of my time on the beach while my husband played with our girls in the pool. They loved it there. I hope to go back soon. Great place

  I would recommend this condo complex to everyone. If you like the beach, this is the place to be. Right on the white sandy beach, nice pool area also. Great accomodations for a family of 4. Grocery shopping close by, no need to travel far. John's Pass right up the road for dinner, drinks and shopping.We will be going back. Thanks!
