Lots of memories created here-Visions of quiet, private entrys to courtyards, Spanish moss, and ancient trees, cobblestone & brick walkways & architecture that saw no end. And, of course, the sincere warm welcome from you Suzanne and all of your neighbors here in Savannah. If only this house could speak of all the drama it has lived! Thanks for all of the attention to details from your hospitality to the personal touches of. decor in your home. To quote you when I first talked to you on the phone-"You're Golden". Sincere thanks from myself, my wife and my 84 year-old father-in-law .
Owner response:Thank you so for the compliments on both the property and the hospitality! What makes your sweet review even more welcome is that you 3 stayed in just the Manor. And found it as welcoming for your intimate family getaway of 3, as it is for groups as large as 12! (The Manor can sleep up to 12, the Estate up to 18 and the Cottage up to 6 in beds). I've decorated the Taylor Estate so Guests find them to be not "vacation houses" but truly...vacation "homes".

My college friends and I get together once a year to celebrate our lifelong friendships. There are 8 of us and it can be challenging to find a weekend, a destination and a place to stay. This house was perfect. It easily fits 8 women and a dog. The living area has a good, open layout that allowed us to circulate freely. The dining room table was the perfect size for all of us to sit at to play games, eat, etc. The beds were cozy and there were a lot of them. The attic is really cool. I could see it being especially good for a group that has a lot of kids. It could easily sleep 7 small children. Savannah is a wonderful, interesting city with a lot of history. It was kind of like New Orleans but cleaner. I'd definitely recommend this place.
Owner response:Thank you for the kind words. I so enjoy reading my reviews...both the ones you write in my comment books that I have in both the Cottage and the Manor..and the ones you submit online! I, too, love the open air layout of the Manor which does allow for such an easy traffic flow. And kids do adore the attic bedroom. It is the one with the Nintendo Game Cube/G-rate Videos & VCR player/ dressing screen/ and mirrored disco ball hanging from the ceiling. Yet, the charm of the hand-hooked rug, colorful coverlets and antique iron & mahoghany beds/slanted ceilings and cut-in dormir windows and cushioned window seats bring to mind (at least "my" mind :) a "Louisa May Alcott and Little Women"-feel. So it doesn't surprise me that kids & "the young at heart" all love that particular room! We just changed out the twin bed in there so now it has a Queen and 2 Full Beds in the Attic Bedroom as well. So you can actually fit up to 12 in beds now in just the Manor! And up to 18 in Beds in the Estate! And now I need to go adjust the amenities pages to reflect that change too...great for large groups but the Estate still has 10 beds overall. For when each member of a group wants their own bed. ;)

We spent Thanksgiving week at this well-appointed and comfortable rental. Both the manor and the carriage house were well-equipped, including cribs, the usual electronics, gobbles of kitchen equipment and more. I think we were 14 and a dog, but would have been comfortable with two more. It was great to have a playground across the street (ballfields as well, but we didn't use them) and historic Savannah at our doorstep. Easy walking to a commercial area, and through beautiful squares! Groceries require a car, but it is not far and the store is a good one. The property description is accurate, everything was in working order, and we enjoyed every minute of our week off!

Thank you so much for allowing us crazy group of marathon runners to occupy the house. The house was AWESOME and the home was everything we could have imagined and more for historic Savannah. The Hot Tub felt AMAZING after the run! Will definitely keep you all in mind when we come back to Savannah to run again (or maybe relax) :) Thanks again!

This was my 2nd stay at the Carriage House with a DIFFERENT group of gal pals...I cannot recommend it highly enough. It's just PERFECT for 5 (or 6) gals...I have stayed in the upstairs loft both times and it is so roomy and decorated so CUTE. Love having 2 bathrooms, too. We cooked breakfast twice and found the kitchen perfectly stocked. The location is great. One night we hired a carriage tour that picked us up almost at the door, gave us a GREAT personal tour, and dropped us off at the restaurant we had reservations for that night! So it was perfect! Took a cab home...so no need to try to navigate streets at night. ANYone staying at this darling place will LOVE it. Suzanne is a perfect host! I;ll be back!!! Thank you Suzanne!
Owner response:Returning Guests are ALWAYS appreciated...you're my favorite thing! Especially ones like Ms Zoe! :). As she mentioned, the complimentary pick-up & drop-off by both Trolley & Carriage Tours is a definite perk for my guests. Another one that many guests don't realize is that Savannah has an open cup policy...so relaxedly finish you glass of the bubbly whether you walk or take a cab/pedicab home for the night! And you can't take all of Savannah in in only a weekend..or a week. There is SO much to see and do. But, as I mentioned...my favorite thing is to have guests return! :)

My son is a us army Ranger stationed in Savannah Georgia, and met his beautiful bride there. When nuptials ensued, a large part of our extended family wanted to attend the blessed event. We have been cast apart over time, and decided to use the event to get together and spend some time with each other. The Taylor Estate fit the bill to a tee! Everyone, from my 10 year old nephew to my 85 year old father in law, had a great time, and had all their needs met. The Estate gave everyone the privacy they needed, but allowed us to spend great time together. it was extremely comfortable, tastefully furnished, and had a great location that allowed us to explore Savannah and environs. Initial supplies, with obligatory coffee, got us started, and local markets were identified and close, allowing us to feed the contingents. Restaurants in the locale were plentiful and great. My duties with my job(s) required internet access, which was supplied, high speed, and without "drops". Multiple people showering at once posed no problems with hot water or pressure, and having a washer and dryer available helped with limiting our baggage for the vacation. It was hot and humid when we arrived (go figure!), but the air conditioning turned the house into an oasis of coolness, with the weather rapidly turning to out favor. The book of "instructions" told us all we needed to know about the house, and gave us a lot of insights that allowed us to maximize our adventures throughout Savannah. Even parking for our 4 cars, normally a nightmare in a crowded urban environment, was easily handled with off-street parking. I would highly recommend the Taylor Estate to anyone who has a few days to kick back and enjoy the splendor of Savannah!

I love getting groups that are a blend of ages...those with both young children and even babies up thru Seniors! That's where the Estate shines! Between the Nintendo and board games/kid-friendly videos and books to keep the younger ones entertained to the discrete handicap-accessible Cottage with its Senior-friendly yet elegant grab bars and walk in shower & first floor bedroom....it's geared to meet the needs of everyone in your group. Plus, the ability to be "right next door" yet still able to "get away to be esconsed in your their own quiet privacy" has been the favorite comment I hear from the grandparents within family reunion groups ;)....so to hear you reinforce all this....PRICELESS! :)

I booked a 5 night stay at the Taylor Estate and we ALL had a wonderful time! My daughter wanted a destination wedding in Savannah, so I needed a large "home" away from home for our family and other relatives from out of town to gather. The Taylor Estate was PERFECT! The charming carriage house accommodated grandma with a ground floor bedroom, along with the family with younger children, while the three floors of the main house was comfortable for everyone else. Our California relatives got to experience the charm and southern decor of this historic home. The kitchen and formal dinning room was huge, which was great for large family meals. ( The kitchen was equipped with every appliance, cookware, serve-ware and dishware you could ever need). We thoroughly enjoyed the walks to River Walk and through the many parks and tree lined streets. We were blessed with good weather and enjoyed taking morning coffee in the courtyard, and its ivy covered walls provided the perfect back drop for stunning bridal and bridesmaids pictures. My whole family agrees that this has been the best vacation accommodations we have ever had the pleasure to stay in, and we would definitely stay here again.
Owner response:Yay! I truly love to get reviews such as this! It reinforces the hope that my home really does make your visit to Savannah even more wonderful! Especially when your visit involves yours or a family members wedding day! That's a memory you'll revisit over and over again :) The Cooks Kitchen and Courtyard and Senior Friendly Cottage are 3 of my features that not every vacation rental can offer so I am glad you mentioned they added to your stay! This review marks my 85th review with VRBO....82 have been like this one...a 5-STAR. Yay! Ya'll, this is why I love what I do. :)

Our Group reserved the entire Taylor Estate for 6 nights. The owner expects perfections, which means do not dirty a dish cloth, towel or anything at the property, sweep and mop before you leave or YOU WILL LOOSE every penny of your deposit. Normal wear and usage is not taken in to account. There is a rule book for the estate that is 2 inches thick and you must read it to know when you have to take out the garbage and when you can not park on a certain side of the street or your car will be ticketed. The Hot Tub was not available. Bikes to rent were old and rusty and the rental fee, you could purchase one cheaper. During our stay the Manor House Kitchen ceiling had a water leak that came from the apartment's next door bathroom. The owner acted as if it was our fault. The owner gave us the incorrect key code to enter the main house and we could not get into the house all day until the owner came home from work . The electric relay in the cottage upstairs bathroom would have to reset every time you used a curling iron or hair dryer. Not to mention the hot water in the upstairs bathtub did not work. JUST LIKE HOME???????
Owner response:I was warned I’d get an ugly review… unless I returned the other half of her security deposit. It went toward replacement linens & extra cleaning crew wages . Although I should have kept the whole amount, I originally returned half ( thinking I was being compassionate). Maybe someone had incontinence or blood thinner issues? She never mentions WHY I kept the deposit. It’s distasteful . Stool, along w/ blood. On bedspreads, shams, sheets, towels, pillows, bedframes, mattress pads, window blinds, even stairwells. It required a complete sanitizing wipe down of two floors in the Manor! Linens washed repeatedly. Some immediately discarded! Now for the rest. 4pm is not “late in the day” but our normal check-in nor do I work Sundays . The 2-inch Binder is stuffed w/brochures, menus, maps, FYI/FAQs (Eg: trash days, WiFi access, thermostat operation). Reminders to use driveway or non-sweep street sides = helpful. Rules = one page. No smoking, no glass around the hot tub, etc is standard stuff. The Hot Tub was new & not yet installed. As it didn’t exist when they made their reservation, it wasn’t intended to be available. Bike rental= $15/day, they’re our personal bikes & are kept inside our home. (My hubbys’ bike is locked to a tree outside). None asked so no one saw our very nice bikes. Manor bedroom is above the kitchen. No ceiling leaks, stains or need for a rain hat! Rain can trickle around the kitchen window if it’s heavy & at a certain slant . But this is only a bit of rain on a windowpane. Though we’re working to get the seal fixed . Eight groups I’ve had in the Estate since this one. Tubs cleaned using hot water afterwards! While a GFI outlet can be tripped…certainly not like this description. In summary, I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve not been able to return a Guests Security Deposit. I’ve been returning them since 2007. Expecting that guests will take out their trash, put dirty dishes in the DW, and generally “clean up after themselves” as far as obvious spills and messes go….is how most all of us were brought up. So, was I foolish to refuse to be bullied? It’s quite the negative review…though untrue. All I can do is hope you do read all my other 5-star reviews. Then… call me to book my lovely, clean :) historic home!

We just stayed at the Taylor Manor, and had a wonderful time. There was 7 of us and we had plenty of room. The pictures of the home truly do not do justice for this home. Upon arrival and opening the front door we were overwhelmed with the beauty and cleanliness of this home. The youngest of the group a 18 year old absolutely loved the attic bedroom and TV area. She had her own little world. We will definitely be staying here again on our next adventure. Could not afford to stay here without other couples splitting the cost, but if we could we would stay here every time we visit Savannah. Loved the location and the quietness of the area. Took nightly walks and enjoyed the parks. The owner has taken great efforts to make your stay enjoyable with brochures and maps and suggestions. The marked map in the kitchen was a great help being marked with the closets grocery store. We cooked a full breakfast every morning and had everything we needed to cook with. If you are planning a trip to Savannah Ga. this is the place to stay, it felt like home from the moment we walked in. Thank you to the owners for opening up your home to us so that we can enjoy your great city. Hope to see you soon as we are planning another trip already in Dec. or Jan. Loved your decor, you did a great job decorating the home with even the smallest touches.

My husband & I are return guests. We went in August and again the week after Christmas. The Cottage was like a home away from home. The hosts are like family and were personally invested in our visit, giving us great suggestions on what to do and where to eat. Staying at the Cottage is a much better vacation home rental than just staying in a hotel. It is perfectly located in a quiet section of town, and most of the sites are within walking distances.

Our large group of sorority sisters ( from the 70's) loved our stay at the Savannah Estate. A great location, and the walk to all the Savannah sites ( even in the summer heat) was not an issue. The tree lined streets and all the sites made it a great experience. Suzanne's lovely home provides the comforts of home, great kitchen with all the needed equipment, crisp clean beds and bath, and several living room areas for group gatherings. We loved it! Hope to return.
Owner response:Living next door to the Manor as we do, we know first hand how enjoyable the walk/stroll to all the sought-after tourist/restaurant/shops and museums/park that surround the Estate can be! Glad to hear even the summer is enjoyable....I definitely vouch for the mornings and later afternoons of Summer for sure :). We are in the process of installing a hot tub in the Courtyard of the Manor/Estate which is very exciting for us. I get to use it when we don't have guests and plan to not even heat it during the mid-day and just...submerge! :) For travelers new to the downtown of the "historic original landmark district" of Savannah (eg; the part that IS walkable to everything)......don't be intimidated by the map since the scale can be offputting. Truly, as reviews such as thisexplain so well....a car is not even necessary if you book the Taylor Estate!

My family spent the July 4th weekend at the Taylor Estates. The place was clean, charming and very comfortable for the 16 people we had in our group. We had 3 family members in our group that were over 80. The extra amenities in the Carriage House, such as the hand bars in the bathrooms and the walk-in shower made their stay very mamageable. The house was located within walking distance of most of the historic sites in Savannah as well as the river walk. Suzanne, the owner, went out of her way to make sure we had a good stay. Very, very nice and I look forward to a return trip to Savannah and this porperty.
Owner response: I am always SO delighted when I have groups that included Seniors and/or handicapped members who've stayed at the Taylor Estate tell me, as you did, that the Cottage and Estate fit their "special" needs perfectly!!! As an Registered Nurse (Yes...this is my "side" job :), I take a uniquely special pride in knowing that I can meet those needs...with elegant discreteness! The ramp access to the Cottage neither draws the eye nor interferes with the cozy decor of the Courtyard...and the level door entrance into the tiled foyer, high (for ease in getting in and out) bed on the first floor of the Cottage along with its walk-in shower/hand-held showerhead and grab bars....blend and do not detract from the handsome decor and ambience. Something I worked hard at! My goal is simple really....Groups with Seniors or Handicap needs experience the same sense of elegance, and level of comfort. as those groups without Seniors or Handicapped individuals..... :). So glad you say I met my goal!!

We rented the Taylor Estate for the week of June 21-28th for our Family visit to Savannah. Everyone was very please with the location and that it was just short walks to all points of interest. All the information that Suzanne had put together in the binders were a great help to us enjoying our stay. We already miss the early morning walks along Jones Street and the beautiful parks. We would recommend this beautiful estate to anyone looking for a Great Week in Savannah! We are already thinking about returning.... Maybe for next Saint Patrice day……………
Owner response:I agree.....walks on Jones Street (one street over from Taylor St which fronts the Manor) is gorgeous. And so are the parks! What I like best is that you said parks (plural :)....a great secret is Mother Matilda Beasely Park which is on the corner opposite Taylor St and East Broad Street (eg: Taylor is at 542 E. Taylor and the corner of Taylor and Broad is 550 E. Taylor). Beasely Park was completely renovated several years ago and sports a gorgeous and grassy football/picnic/soccer area and baseball field with a goalfence and bleachers. It has a really huge fenced and grassy dog run used by the downtown locals and their pets. And it's playground is beautiful with the latest in playground equipment. Plus...it's got a bike/jog path. Although Forsyth Park (5 blocks away from the Estate) is a photographers paradise, Both parks are beautiful and cater to the athletic and animal lover :)

We had a fantastic stay here in Savannah mostly due to your hospitality of providing our "home" away from home. It was very relaxing to return to after our very busy days on-the-go. We all had a very enjoyable time This is my 3rd trip here to Savannah with this one having the best accommodations by far. We want to thank you for being a part of our troop's memories! Sandi -Troop Leader Additional Comments( from the girls themselves): This house is beautiful! I love everything about it! Savannah is just a beautiful city to live in/visit in. This is my 2nd trip here to Savannah and this house is wonderful, just like this wonderful city! Stay Golden, Alicia. Well I'll start off saying your house is absolutely beautiful. You are a fantastic interior decorator :). I love the set up of the house. All us 5 teenagers stayed in the attic. It was fun to have privacy which we wouldn't have as much in a hotel. Your kitchen is AMAZING!!! Very roomy and I felt very at home here! Me and my Mom pretty much think this is our dream house. Thank you so much for sharing it with us! It made our stay in Savannah that much better! Sincerely, Jamie Just wanted to let you know what wonderful time I had in Savannah with my daughter. We loved your home!! I would love to come back with some of my family and stay for a week. Thanks! Jamie's Mom, Dee. I really enjoyed staying in this house. This is a beautiful house and makes me feel at home. I loved how the floors were set up. All the girls got to sleep together in the same room. The beds (well at least mine) were SO comfortable! I loved staying here. Thank you for sharing your house with us! Thanks again, Allie

I was recently in Savannah on one of our annual "girls" trips. There were nine of us, and we had the main house as well as the carriage house. It was perfect. We were all very comfortable. We actually cooked in most nights and the kitchens were very well stocked and ready to use. It is a great location, we walked to most places. It was clean and quiet. These pictures don't lie.

Thank you ‘Savannah Historic Hideaways’, the Taylor Estate was a perfect location for dear friends to gather. Fourteen ladies, from all over Savannah, gathered together for three days, two nights in this elegant, spacious Historic District manor, what a treat. Centrally located, I was thrilled to walk to all of our destinations. Several new treasures found by traveling on foot, Crystal Beer Parlor, est.1933, fun shops in the Downtown Design District on Jones Street, and the amazing beauty of this charming city in the early morning hours. Suzanne, thank you for your hospitality and providing the many details that make a getaway great, knowing where to go, what to wear, providing the comforts of home, crisp clean beds and bath, full size kitchen with amenities, and many common areas for laughter and visiting. If you only have a day in Savannah, you must visit, Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House(cash or check only), St. Johns Cathedral, some sort of walking tour or trolley tour, Gallery Espresso(coffee house), Forsyth Park, Crystal Beer Parlor(specialty, cheese burger w/fries), and all things chocolate at Lulu’s Chocolate Bar on MLK. Looking forward to our next visit, Janey ‘having the time of our lives’ 2011
Owner response:I wholeheartedly agree with each of those recommendations! Especially the one about staying at the Taylor Estate! :) I've so enjoyed all those shops and restaurants. There are so many more though that it truly impossible to really get to see everything Savannah has to offer in 3 days and 2 nights. Everytime you come, there are new restaurants, home tours, ghost tours, walking tours, museums, antique stores, shops and picnics/festivals etc abounding. Not to mention forts, beaches, and plantations/cementaries and exploring the squares and parks! Which is why the spaciousness of the Estate & comfort/sheer pleasure of the decor and beds are sooooo delightful for my guests...lol. You wouldn't know it but I have a video library, some DVD's and also numerous board games available for my guests but...few every really have time to enjoy them since Savannah keeps you fully occupied! :)

Truly, we enjoyed our stay! We were close enough to stroll to all the many attractions. Yet, far enough away to peacefully wake up to birds singing. The accommodations were clean, relaxing, and very charming. The owners were just delightful. We are looking forward to returning to this lovely retreat! Sincerely, Sophia Forester
Owner response:I too adore getting to listen to the birds chirping when I wake up! And the squirrels running up and down the branches of the huge pecan tree that offers shade to part of the large driveway of the Estate :). I've thought of putting out bird feeders since we have so many birds in the historic district but....I decided against it and just enjoy watching & hearing them without having the potential lethal cat encounter :). The squirrels are definitely my favorite though.

Owner response:I'm a huge fan of the birds and their singing as well! Even more enjoyable, to me, is watching the squirrels as they chase each other along the branches of the huge pecan tree that offers shade to the driveway of the Estate. (I think it is the only Pecan Tree within the actual Landmark Historic District too!). Right now, with the azaleas in bloom and the jasmine all blooming, the Courtyards and front of the entire Estate is a veritable garden of color! I'm so sorry you just missed the jasmine....the aroma is incredible. :)

Outstanding accomodations---beautiful and immaculate! We had a group of 12 ladies that stayed for a middle of the week weekend to see Mama Mia and Historic Savannah. We were able to walk to 99% of the places we wanted to go to and the owner had a solution for us ---a tip only transport service if we found we needed help or just didn't feel like walking. The Manor also had a thick notebook filled with just about any information you could want about seeing the sites in Savannah. We were only a hop, skip, and a jump from Mrs. Wilke's restaurant--yummmmm.....The gourmet fully equiped kitchen and large dining room offered the perfect money saving solution when we wanted to eat in. The owner also graciously gave us a tour of the carraige house---the perfect place for a family or just a romantic getaway for 2 in Savannah----I'm already making plans..... ;-)....warm hospitality and beautiful accomodations equals return visit!!!!!!
Owner response:Groups of Ladies seeking a chance to reconnect and deepen ties and friendships such as yours have always responded so favorably that the Manor is the perfect home in which to accomplish just that! Again, having such a huge, gourmet kitchen and roomy space in which to bake/cook for a meal or just to throw together delicious hord'ourves prior to heading back out to further explore the surrounding squares and shops/museums and restaurants is a definite plus! Actually, roomy and spacious kitchens are quite unusual within the historic homes of the historic district. Usually, you must make do with a narrow kitchen bordered by counter space and not a place to gab and chit chat within such as you find in the Taylor Manor that even has an antique oaken dinette within it and still with tons of room to gather and move about! So glad you enjoyed what I consider one of the more unique aspects of the Manor compared to other Vacation Rental Homes that you might happen upon! :)

What a wonderful place to spend a getaway with good friends. The home is beautifully restored and with so much attention to decorating as well as comfort. We were able to walk from the manor through historic squares lined with beautiful old homes and churches to shopping, quaint downtown restaurants and even to entertainment at the civic center. Great exercise and so many fun ways to spend a day. The best part was coming home to the manor to relax with friends. I would recommend this home to any family or group looking for a refreshing getaway.
Owner response:I'm so glad you enjoyed the surrounding squares and the civic center. Sometimes you drive to the Civic Center for a play, thinking you don't want to walk in heels, only to find parking so crowded that you would've already been in your seat if you'd just walked rather than driving all around searching for one of the rare parking spaces to be had! :) Since I live next door to the Manor, our family has definitely experienced that first hand and learned many a lesson on how to best traverse the historic district. These are a few of the little gems I treat my guests to that owners of properties who don't actually live here themselves don't realize! :) And having a home that you really feel comfortable in and can take off those heels and put your feet up and just revel in a truly comfortable couch and such...plus a mattress to die for....those are the extra perks that make the Manor, Cottage and Estate truly stand out from the rest!

We stayed 3 nights in the Carriage House behind the estate's Manor House during my spring break from teaching. It was great accommodations with everything we needed. The walk to almost everything we wanted to see was so enjoyable. It was also convenient to roads going to the Forts and also to Wormslow and Bonnaventure. We never got lost and that was great! We figured out the blocks around us with no problem and enjoyed walking to the parks around the area. Information provided in the house also helped us plan our days. We hope to return this summer. Thanks Suzanne!
Owner response:I'm tickled when our guests not only enjoy the close proximity of the entire Historic Downtown that surrounds you on all sides when you stay in the Carriage House and/or Manor & Estate but actually venture out to some of the sites that are outside of the Landmark Historic District such as Wormsloe Plantation and Bonneventure Cementary! While the Colonial Cementary is right in the heart of the historic district and an easy stroll from the Taylor Estate /Carriage House/Manor.....the Bonneventure is so incredible and beautiful. I love that my guests enjoy reading through the binders I provide in each of the homes showing things to do throughout Savannah....I'm glad you put it to good use!!!

Our family of 20 descended in late February for a reunion, and we were all so pleasantly surprised that everything about the Taylor Estate was better than we imagined. Warm, friendly and inviting don't scratch the surface. We loved the main house and the carriage house. Found it bigger than the pictures suggest. There was room enough in the dinning room for all of us to gather, and absolutely everything was in tip top condition. There are two outdoor tables around which we gathered, and although the estate is in the midst of everything you'll want to do, we felt a sense of privacy on the patio. We highly recommend this property, whose owners could not have been more hospitable to each and every one of us. And as for Savannah, it is a dream come true. We were able to walk everywhere and loved the squares and the parks! You won't be disappointed.
Owner response:I love that ya'll really enjoyed the Courtyards and our outstanding weather this February! Although your group didn't require it, there is also a very discreet ramp entry to the Cottage rear entrance deck/courtyard that has been useful for when we have handicapped guests or guests using strollers and such. You definitely hit the nail on the head when you mentioned how you felt "a sense of privacy despite being in the midst of everything" within the downtown historic district....it is exactly that feeling that led me to describe the Taylor Estate like "feeling as if you are in your own private lil resort" on one of our brochures. You've helped to describe to my future guests something that is almost an oxymoron and definitely unique to the Taylor Estate! And while I do use the adjective "spacious" in describing the Manor and it's kitchen and such....I often get comments such as yours that it is so much larger than the pictures made it seem! Our goal is for guests to feel comfortable in a clean and invitingly comfortable environment...so "tip top" shape is what we strive for and so glad you found we are acheiving our goal.

5 couples in our family met in Savannah for Super Bowl weekend. The brothers, cousins, and wives had a wonderful time in your home. Taylor Estate is located close to the city's attractions we wanted to see. We ate out (thanks for the recommendations); we cooked in (great kitchen). We enjoyed having a place large enough to accommodate us all! Phil & Sharon (AL) Larry & Connie (NC) Danny & Carolyn (FL) Dwight & Cleo (FL) Dwayne & PattyKay (FL)

The best thing about the home was the comfort, convenience, and cozy ambiance! Our family of 14, from Virginia, Georgia, Florida, and Texas had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Savannah. LOVED the location of your home- we were able to walk everywhere. Our 2 dogs loved running in the dog park nearby and we had fun playing a very spirited game of Taboo and watching some great football! Your neighbor, Barbara and her husband are so pleasant and even offered to dog sit while we went on the trolley tour. All fourteen in our group agreed our stay was one of the things we were thankful for this holiday.
Owner response:So good to know the grassy and fenced doggie run in the park across the street is enjoyed. We too have a dog and know how great it is to have a place where they can come and be with you but still get to be outside and exercised and all. Our downtown locals even have an umbrella table and chairs and love to congregate there too. The thing that is hardest for me to get potential guests to understand is that even though we are pet-friendly, our home is actually INCREDIBLY hypoallergenic as well. That's because there is only one bedroom in the entire Estate that is carpeted. The homes all have wood, stone tile, or marble flooring and the furnishings are also wood and leather. So, aside from the throw pillows and linens....its pretty hard for any animal to do any damage and it's hard for a dust mite to find a home :)

The Carriage House is even cuter than the pics! 5 of us girlfriends snuck away for a weekend getaway..the house was PERFECT for us! And the beds are unbelievably comfortable! It was immaculate and charming...Suzanne is the perfect host...only problem was we couldn't stay long enough..we will be back!
Owner response: I love return guests! Though I don't always get to meet my guests in person, those times when I do, such as with Miss Zoe....make renting out my homes a blessing. Our Cottage-only rentals is perfect for a group of five women such as yourselves and I'm so delighted you proved me right :).

This House was easy to stay in and enjoy. The house is exactly as it looks in the pictures and very well maintained. Everything was exceptionally clean. The kitchen was spacious and had all the modern amenities. The patio space in the back of the house was a wonderful place to enjoy conversation and a bottle of wine in the evening. The owner was welcoming and ready to answer any questions. If there was a downside to this house, it would be the stairs. It was required to go up at least one set of stairs to get to the bedrooms. This location was walking distance to town and the river. A family neighborhood that was very quiet at night.
Owner response:I love that you can walk to everything and be in the midst of festivals, revelry, and shops/restaurants/activities...yet amble "home" to a quiet residential neighborhood where the noise fades and you can hear birds chirping! The bedrooms in the Manor are all on the second and third floors. But, if climbing stairs is a problem, I have the solution! The Cottage behind the Manor (its former Carriage House) is two stories and a complete home in itself with kitchen, living room, laundry room, courtyard etc. But....there is a first floor bedroom too! Woohoo! Very senior friendly and perfect for others with bad knees or who simply don't like climbing stairs. The second floor of the Cottage has a full Master Bedroom Suite that sleeps another 4 people. So for larger groups, book the entire Taylor Estate which gives you both the Taylor Manor and its Carriage House. Or, if your group is 6 or less, and stairs are a problem, book just the Cottage. Although...the final alternative is sometimes the best despite the stairs...and that is to rent just the Manor. It's one property but you can have it 3 ways. :)

My family of women take a trip every year with a different destination every year. This year we chose Savannah, GA. We have always stayed in hotels and had to requested adjoining rooms, Since we can have anywhere from 6 to 12 women each year, we decided this year to try for a house. There were nine ladies ranging in age from 23-85. We chose Taylor Manor and what a fabulous choice that was. Suzanne is the sweetest lady. She came to introduce herself upon our arrival and we never saw her again, but certainly had her contact number if it was needed. This house had everything and more that nine women would need for our stay. We felt safe, we walked to restaurants in the evening and even to catch a couple of tours that we scheduled. I would highly recommend this on your adventure to Savannah. My security deposit was promptly returned. If I needed to call Suzanne with any questions prior to our arrival, she promptly returned my calls and my questions were answered. I would rent this house again if my travels took me back. Thank you Suzanne, we had a wonderful time. Bonnie and all the Sassy Ladies Seeking Mischief

We just returned from a Visit to Savannah with our Girl Scout Troup - all 18 of us. The houses were wonderful. We all fit comfortably in the Manor House and the Carriage House. The house was located close enough to downtown that we were able to walk wherever we needed. Best of all we Never ran out of hot water! If I'm ever in Savannah again, I will definitely be staying here!
Owner response: We love our Girl Scouts! Since we used to live in the Manor and the Carriage House ourselves, we know the importance of a hot shower! ;) In fact, this is behind the quietness and modernity of all the appliances within both the Carriage House and Manor. We wanted to have conversations that were easy to maintain irregardless of running the dryer or the dishwasher, etc. Our aim is for your trip to Savannah to be memorable both for the accommodations and the beauty of our city!

We stayed at the Taylor Manor and Carriage House in July and what a blast! The property was beautifully maintained and we couldn't ask for better accomdations for our group of 14. The property boasts ample space for such large groups. The location was very convenient to the downtown area, it was just a short walk to all of the best tourist spots. This property will not disapoint ! Thank you Suzanne for being such a gracious host. We can't wait to come again.

I brought my Girl Scout Troop for their big trip to the Juliette Gordon Low house. We had a group of 16 girls and a few moms. We took up the main house and the carriage house. It was perfect! Our girls were able to gather in the dining room to play games or were able to hang out in front of the tv or video games. Great location, easy access to everything. We will definitely stay here again. Suzanne is a wonderful and helpful host.
Owner response:We love our Girl Scouts! We do extend our maxiumum occupancy to up to 20 persons (additional charge applies) when ya'll are willing to bring your own sleeping bags/pillows and such :) and are blessed that the Scouts we have had always leave our home is excellent condition. I was a Scout and was taught to always "leave things better than you found them". It's nice to see our 21st century Scouts would make Juliette Gordon Low quite proud! We hope to have ya'll come back again and again.

A group of 9 women chose to return to Savannah for our annual Sisterchicks getaway. I found this property on VRBO and it was perfect for our trip. We stayed in The Manor and enjoyed its comfy beds & pillows, the homey touches including throws and games, the well stocked kitchen and the large table in the dining room where we could all sit at one time! The Manor was decorated beautifully and it was fun to stay in a home built in the 1870s. We were very pleased and would highly recommend this property
Owner response:Thank you! We always enjoy hearing we've had guests enjoy the various board games, &/or nintendo set with its games, and the various videos/books we keep stocked in both the Manor and Carriage House/Cottage! They make the occasional rainy or stay-at-home-night a warm and oft-times more unique memory to treasure! :)

Family members and friends from Fl.,S.C.,and L.A. decided to spend New Years in Savannah. We all visit Savannah and Tybee Island as often as we can. Hope to be staying here again. Five adults and a baby stayed in the Carriage House. Nine adults stayed in Taylor Manor. Both houses are lovely. The kitchen in the manor is fully equipted to cook any meal. Both houses are very comfortable, especially the beds, and decorated beautifully. A very well maintained property. The only disappointment,"NO GHOST". We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much.
Owner response:Ahhhh....you mean no ghost that you "saw" during your stay! We've had other guests tell us some stories! Now you just have to come back and decide if you're simply not scared of ghosts or ghosts are scared of you and stay out of site when you visit :)

Great Week at the Taylor Estate! Marty Jr. Savannah, GA Review Submitted: August 9, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009 We rented the Taylor Estate for the week of July 5-11th for our wedding party to stay in the week of the wedding, and I don't think there was a single person who wasn't in awe of this beautiful house! The house has everything in it that you would need for the week, all we had to do was get groceries. The location put us within walking distance of everything we wanted to get to in downtown savannah, and Kroger was only a couple blocks away for any little things we had to get. For a family get-away you absolutely cannot pick a better house to stay the week at. One thing I noticed right away the first time we stepped foot in the house was that the pictures do not do it justice, you really have to see this place to realize how beautiful it is. Suzanne was a great host, and also very easy to work with on anything that might come up. We would reccomend this estate to anyone looking for a relaxing week in savannah!
Owner response:Thank you! Your opportunity to turn your wedding into a reunion for your family members by renting out the Estate for them is what makes my job so much a joy for me! Since we once lived in the Manor ourselves (My hubby and I and our 2 girls), we know first hand everything needed to truly have all you need at your fingertips! We hope you and your lovely bride come again to enjoy the entire Estate...or just an cozy anniversary celebration in the Carriage House for the two of you!
