Crafted with an eye for genius, boldness and imagination, the starhouse was built for Clair de Lune guests to enjoy the breathtaking views from the deck or watch the stars through a high powered telescope. An outdoor hot tub is also available for Clair de Lune Cottage guests and sits on a cliff at the head of the waterfall trail.

Guests are given gourmet coffee, teas, bath salts, sweet soaps and other amenities are provided in the cottage.

Luther Burbank, horticulturist and naturalist described Jack London's Valley of the Moon as "...the chosen spot of all this earth..." for her natural beauty, ecological diversity and remarkable peace.
