  We were looking for somplace 15 family members could gather for a weekend, and we found the perfect spot! The location had something for everyone from the 2 yr old to the 79 year old, from golf to shopping to amusement parks to just plain old exploring the countryside. The house was wonderful, plenty of room outside and in. We loved the seclusion, not having to worry if we were being too noisy, and everyone loved the fire pit, as that's where we would catch-up after going our separate ways during the day. And the kitchen actually has the equipment and supplies for a large group! We hope to be back next year!

  Great time had by all.....very clean and well maintained. Enjoyed the evenings by the firepit and all the close by things to do Nickelplate beach, Thomas Edison Museum, and of course the ROLLER COASTERS!!!!!!!! Thank you sooo much to Cindy and crew, we truly enjoyed our stay and will hopefully get together here again.

  Cindy I can not thank you enough for assisting me every step of the way in preparing our Bike week trip to Ohio. Having an 8 hour trip into the unknown was a piece of cake with you on my side. The house provided plenty of space for all guests, nice open kitchen for meals conversaton and laughter. I loved the fact that we were close to all areas but it was secluded enough to feel safe with our bikes. We could sit out on the patio and relax in private at any time day or night. We truly enjoyed our stay and I can't thank you enough for your help !!! Michelle/Maryland

  Our 2nd year at the Old Tobacconist Inn and we're already planning for the next year. Such a lovely house in a great location. We loved the privacy of the yard and really enjoyed the beautiful patio with firepit. Campfires every night in a quiet country setting. The little town of Milan is a joy to spend an afternoon in shopping, lunching, and treating ourselves to spa treatments. The ice cream shop is a must for a huge cone of some of the best ice cream ever. While we loved the quiet country feel, we were close enough to easily make a run to Kelly's Island and Put-In-Bay Island for a day of fun. Visits to the wineries and biking around the islands or relaxing in the golf cart while touring. The kids (still call them that but they range from 18 to 34) and we old folks (in our 50's) had fun playing putt-putt golf and racing go-carts at the fun center just 15 minutes up Rte 250. With all the nearby activities, a beautiful large yard, lots of privacy, plus bedrooms enough for our large family with a kitchen big enough to hold us all, this is the vacation home we've been searching for. Even the rooster was polite enough to wait until late morning before calling out to us and taking his jaunty stroll through the yard. The owners are wonderful to deal with and as helpful and accommodating as anyone could ask. They were even thoughtful enough to call us and warn of an approaching storm, suggesting we keep an eye on the weather channel. Turned out to be a bad thunderstorm only but their concern for their guests was truly appreciated. I'd recommend the Inn to anyone......but NOT for the week we already have booked next year!

• Amazing Place To Stay!

  I put together a bachelor party for my buddy and we decided to rent this house for a weekend. Everyone loved the place. The house is huge and was more than large enough to accommodate 18 mid-20's guys. There are no neighbors to worry about so you don't have to worry about making a little bit of noise. Everything was clean and as advertised when we got there. Cindy is also a great host and was available whenever we needed to call her with questions. I'd recommend this place to anyone.

  Our entire family (my side and my husband's side) stayed at the inn last weekend. We traveled from TN, VA, and different parts of OH to all be together for the first time. i had been planning this vacation/ family gathering for about six months while my husband was deployed to Africa in the Navy. I was very nervous that everything wouldnt turn out right since i had never rented a vacation home before. Man was i surprised!!! cindy made everything so easy for us and what she had promised is exactly what we got! The Inn was so much more beautiful than what the pictures give it justice and we all honestly just felt at home while staying there! This was the perfect stay for us and we all are very anxious to get to come back again. Thanks cindy!!!!

  We rented the Inn for family arriving from across the country, Montana, Wisconsin, Texas, Michigan, and Ohio. What a grand time we had. The hosts helped us with directions when there was a sudden change in airports for arrival for incoming family and found carseats to get the little ones to the Inn. They had suggestions to help with the big day of our family reunion with 70 family members showing up throughout the day. It worked out perfect! The little ones found the ideal spot upstairs to use as their theater, and play space. There was a nice quiet spot indoors to relax with the babies and sooth them to sleep. There's plenty of outdoor space to spread out, or get together and visit and play. We found everything we needed there plus more. Everyone enjoyed the time spent at the Inn!

  HI Cindy We had a great time at the Inn. The house was gorgeous and words cannot describe the scenery and comfortability my family and I felt while being on vacation. The kids especially enjoyed running around outside and playing with the cats. Thank you for opening up your home to us, we truly enjoyed the stay

  We rented this beautiful home over Memorial day, 2010 for a week. We had, at one point, 12 adults and 4 big dogs. This is the perfect location for a large gathering. There is plenty of room in the home and there is a huge yard outside. The fire pit became our favorite gathering spot! A lot of hours were spend around that area and we have already decided this is where we will be next year as well. The owners are wonderful people and you just couldnt ask for a more relaxing experience. The house is also close to everything - the islands, the carousel museum, restaurants, just everything! Highly recommend this for vacation.

  Our group of 22 first cousins, spouses and children spent an absolutely fabulous three nights at this beautiful and historic Inn. We traveled from Seattle, WA; New York City; Columbus; Cincinnati and Cleveland - our ages ranged from 47 yrs. to 6 months! The Inn was situated perfectly - just off the turnpike - and just south of Sandusky - with restaurants, grocery stores and cute little Milan just a few minutes drive away. Many of us spent a day at Cedar Point before arriving, and on our way to the house a few of us visited and made purchases at the Hildebrand's "Sandusky Bay Cigar Shop" for hand rolled (right before our eyes) cigars. They were great! This wonderful, historic Inn was so special for our reunion, as past reunions had been held at our grandmother's old family (circa. 1901) homestead in a remote area of Appalachian Tennessee. We did all of the same things at the Old Tobacconist Inn - bonfires, s'mores, tents for the kids, cooking traditional family recipes, playing cards and games, and staying up until the wee hours of the morning talking - without worrying about disturbing the neighbors. The major improvements for this reunion location at the Old Tobacconist Inn were: AIR CONDITIONING!; a much closer location for us all; much more to do within a few minutes drive; the huge gourmet kitchen; fantastic game/card room; leather reclining chairs and DIRECT TV for our teenagers (and when we kicked them out, the adults); and of course the roosters, pig and outdoor cat. The cigar themed decor and historic pictures were fascinating to look at and read. We recommend to future summertime guests a trip to Nickel Plate Beach in Huron - just a 15 minute drive away, we went there twice. Just go north on Rt. 250 for about .6 miles, right on Rt. 13 for approx. 7 miles, Rt. on Rt. 6 for .7 miles, left on Tiffin Ave. for approx. .5 miles, left on Nickel Plate Rd. to beach parking lot - $5 per carload. It was well groomed, the water was clean and a nice sandy beach. I just cannot say enough about this wonderful Inn. The beds were comfortable with good linens and PLENTY of extra pillows and bathroom towels. But our experience was made even better because of the wonderful, accommodating owner, Cindy. She is a genuine hostess, who did everything she could to make our stay comfortable and relaxed. I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did - and don't forget to leave a tip for the cleaning staff on your way out (Cindy's daughter)! ENJOY!
