We use VRBO often to plan our own vacations and truely understand what you have to go through when faced with making just the "right" decisions about where to stay. We keep that experience in mind when we offer our cabin for rent and make it a priority to be sure you get good value and have everything you need to enjoy your stay. We want your repeat business!
This one of a kind location in the heart of the Upper Tallulah Basin is within 2.5 hours of Atlanta, Greenville, Charlotte, and Chattanooga. The drive to this cabin is known as one of the most beautiful and scenic drives in North Georgia.
The property sits on 5 acres, adjoins a forest service wilderness area with hiking trails right outside your door and touches two trout streams. You have personal access to a renowned, year round trout stream, the Upper Tallulah River. This stream is stocked in the summer months twice a week and is open to FISHING YEAR ROUND!
This very special valley was once a busy corundum mining community and later a logging town. Although many of the original settlers have gone, historical traces can still be found.
This area is also home to a number of rare trees and plants such as the mountain camellia or stewartia and is the ultimate place to enjoy the fall colors. Take a hike to one of the many waterfalls in the area, raft the Chattooga, or just kick back on the porch swing with a good book.
Sounds of laughter and excitement coming from members of the your group while they're making new discoveries about the cabin as they "settle in", help you realize you've made the right choice about where to come to "get away".
Need a break? There is nothing more peaceful than sitting on the deck, soaking in the hot tub under the stars, relaxing in a rocking chair or on the porch swing just listening to sounds of the river and abundant wildlife.
Need a little more to do close by? You can take an exciting journey to one of the mini excursions we've outlined in a binder to help you acclimate to the cabin and surrounding area. These suggestions will help guide you to experience some really secluded waterfalls, swimmin' holes and 4x4 trails. Or, we've stocked a variety of puzzles, cards, board games and a small library where you'll find something for everyone.
This is the perfect place to really get back in touch with friends and family, spending quality time and growing memories that you'll treasure for a lifetime.

The cool, clear river, Mountain Laurel and Rhododendron lining its edges, gravel road, USFS Campgrounds, abundant hiking trails, waterfalls and willdlife make this cabin such an exciting destination. We love it here. We have traveled the world through our jobs and having spent time in places many only dream of (although they had their good points) there is still no place on earth like our Tate City and The Tallulah River!

Owner's Map of Clayton
There is no where else we would rather be than right here in this valley. Living out in an area like this really allows you to hear more clearly what is in your heart. Because of the way we feel about this area, we are happy to offer the use of our cabin for rent. Escaping the hustle and bustle of busy city life, relaxing, lowering stress levels and recharging is the kind "stuff" that draws people to this area. You don't just happen upon a special place like this, you seek it out and when you finally find it, you just know it, and it's hard to leave. For many people, this becomes an annual family/group event that everyone looks forward to. Clean air and rivers to play in set the stage for some of the greatest and most precious childhood/family memories. You can see this evidenced in the eyes of people you find along our road having just come from a good hike, on the faces of kids all ages proudly displaying a stringer full of fish, and in the smiles of families who just stopped off to teach their children how to hunt "craw-dads" and salamanders or skip rocks in the river. You know...............the things that are really important in life!

We had a wonderful stay! This cabin is an amazing getaway for anyone who loves the outdoors. Our favorite trails were the Girl Scout swimming hole trail & the Falls trail. National Park worthy but without the crowds! But most of all we enjoyed the sounds of the river, the relative isolation with no other house in sight, and just getting away from it all! Thanks again

The Cabin was amazing! Carly and I just got engagged and this was the perfect place to spend a nice quiet weekend together. We went to sliding rock and went down in all our clothes. It felt like we fell in love all over again. This is just what we needed to grow closer before we both deploy. We had an amazing weekend and thank you for the wonderful cabin. Kevin & Carly

We had so much fun here "exploring". The Falls are a wonder all its own. Slidding Rock was the boys favorite place. We love the cabin and being so far out in the wilderness was fun too. We are already planning a trip back. I wish we could have stayed longer but......School starts soon. Take care and I will be in touch soon! Thanks again! Maddie, Pat, Dylan, Colby & Phyllis

Thank you for the lovely stay up here in the mountains. Your hospitality was beyond compare. From the easy nature to tough mountain climbs, we thoroughly explored and jnjoyed the unique wildlife and natural beauty of this landscape. It is a rare opportunity for children to truly enjoy & understand nature but thankfully our little boys will grow up appreciating the world. We hope you continue in good health and lots of happiness. Sincerely, The Logue & Bryant Families

Thank you guys for the extra special touches around the cabin. It has been a great "get-a-way" from a world of being too in touch! The temp back in Jacksonville was 98 today, we heard and yet it felt like heaven here. Thanks again for making us all feel so welcomed. Wendy & Sam
