This apartment is located in the heart of ancient Rome,next to the Colosseum and the important Basilica of San Clemente.Looking out the window, you’ll have a view of the Colosseum and a part of the Vittorio Emanuele Monument at Piazza Venezia to your left and to the right you’ll see the Obelisk of San Giovanni and the upper part of the Basilica of St Anthony of Padua. This location is perfect for those who like to walk in the centre (easily you can reach by foot the main sites like the Colosseum, Piazza Venezia , Fontana di Trevi, Pantheon, Campo dei Fiori) or reach any other destination by public transportation. .
This apartment,A.C., has been completely remodelled. The owner takes great pride in personally decorating the apartment and it shows. The apartment is elegantly furnished and includes tromp l’oeil painted by the owner. She pay also very close attention to details: bedrooms have double-glazed windows (not only double panels) and shutters to guarantee a good night's sleep, well-equipped kitchen corner, comfortable beds, ample linens and bath towels. The apartment can accommodate up to 5 people and has 2 big and very comfortable bedrooms with 1 American king size bed 200x200cm( can be separated in two twins beds 100x200cm), 1 queen/king size bed 180x200cm, 1 extra single bed, 2 bathrooms with shower, living/dinning area.The owner decided, from her own experience, to make the living/dining area smaller in order to have larger bedrooms since the tourist in Rome spends most of the day out enjoying the many things to do as well as the sights.
Cable TV with international news (BBC, CNN) movies in English (when the original languages is English) and DVD.
The owner has, and still do, attended courses of the History of Roman Art, which allowed her to get to know the city very well. At check she will personally welcome you and spend time to guide you in programming your vacation, sharing with you all her knowledge. You will have the feeling to meet a personal guide, that help you at 360' in discovering this big city so full of history, and save so much time that normally takes to a person that is in town for the first time.
She offer free wire less internet service, so guests may bring their own laptop and be assured that they need not look for Internet cafes at odd hours to keep in touch with home, also a cell. phone (use of the phone is free, personal calls are not included) so that guests can very easily reach her at any time, should they have questions or concerns about the apartment or about Rome itself(free).
There is a bus stop (bus 117, included in Roma Pass at € 30 which includes 3 days of transportation free + first 2 museums free) close to the apartment, that will take you in few minutes in Spanish Steps or Piazza del Popolo (the trendy and famous fashion district). Underground stop “Colosseo line B” at only 5 minutes walk. With public tranportation you can easily reach Ancient Ostia, very important port during the Roman Empire, and the seaside/beach front of Ostia Lido, where you can spend part of your day expeccially in the summer season

Transportation from and to the airport can be organized. We also organize transportation to Tivoli and Civitavecchia's port. Clients are not allowed to exeed the number of guets specified in the resevation form, unless an agreement has been reached prior the guest's arrival.

To find an apartment in Rome is a sophisticated task. I have spent many hours exploring numerous sites and at the end I got lost. What finally made me chose “Dolce vita” apartment amongst many other similar apartments in the center were the nice comments about the hosts. From their description I felt that Natalia and Walter know very well what a tourist needs to feel at home. And I was not disappointed! From the first moment I was in a Skype and e-mail connection with Walter and had answers to all my questions. They organized our transfer from the airport and I strongly recommend this to everybody. We were met with a welcome breakfast and a very detailed description about the apartment and the tourist sightseeing. Natalia also recommended us some very nice local restaurants where we found real Italian food. We were supplied with a cell phone to connect them and to be called when necessary. They even left us some medical emergency phones. Very soon we realized that this is the perfect place for us: * the location is great, it is within a walking distance from the main Rome tourist places and a good starting point for our night walking tours * the apartment is next to Coliseum, but it is very quiet and we had wonderful rest * the bedrooms are spacious and with real beds * there was hot water all the time thanks to the gas water-heater * the two bathrooms were a good convenience for the four of us * the kitchen is supplied with all the necessary equipment and kitchenware * Wi-Fi Internet connection is fast, impeccable and there is even a USB-charger for the tablets and smart phones :) * we found many tourist guide books about Rome and Italy, interesting books and CD-s. We benefited by the guest book to choose more interesting places around the apartment. I have already started to recommend the apartment and the extradionary caring hosts to all my friends!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Ich kann das Appartment nur empfehlen! Es liegt sehr ruhig und zentral! Man wohnt in der näche der Basilika San Clemente in 5 Gehminuten zum Collosseum in einem normalen Wohnviertel mit viel Charme. Es ist ein hübscher und sehr gepflegter Altbau, die Zimmer liegen zur Straße, aber sind trotzdem ruhig, die Küche zum Innenhof. Alles ist sehr sauber, hübsch und auf eine leicht ironisch-altmodische Art sehr charmant. Ich würde die Wohnung für 4 Erwachsene oder eine Familie empfehlen. Es ist alles da, was man braucht, inklusive Fernseher, W-Lan, Willkommensfrühstück im Kühlschrank, tollen italienischen Kaffee, einer kleinen gut ausgestatteten Küche, in der man schnell etwas zubereiten kann. Man fühlt sich sofort heimisch! In der Nähe findet man kleine Spätkaufläden, die einen mit dem Notwendigsten versorgen, hübsche Bäckereien, ein paar Pizzerien, einen Taxistand, die Haltestelle der Sehenswürdigkeitenbusse, einen wirklich schönen Park und natürlich das Collosseum. Ich persönlich würde einen Besuch in der Basilika San Giovanni in Laterano sehr empfehlen, die ebenfalls fußlaufig schnell (etwa 5-7 Min) zu erreichen ist. Ein großes Dankeschön an unsere Gastgeber Natalia und Walter! Sie waren sehr herzlich, zuvorkommend und waren sehr bemüht uns mit allen möglichen Informationen und (Geheim)Tipps zu Rom zu versorgen und haben so unseren Aufenthalt noch schöner gemacht! Noch mal vielen, vielen Dank! Leider waren die 4 Tage zu kurz für Rom, wir (2 Mütter, 2 erwachsene Töchter) wären gern noch länger in der Stadt und in dieser tollen Wohnung geblieben.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This was one of the best experiences we have had in renting a property on vacation. Natalia and Walter were everything that the previous reviewer said they would be. They arranged transportation for us to and from the airport, met us at the apartment when we arrived, gave us a basic layout of the apartment and area and made us feel at home. They had everything in the apartment we needed to get started. We ran into a snag with ATM machines and Natalia was willing to come over and go to the bank with me or do whatever she could to help us out. It was like we were visiting family rather than renting an apartment from strangers. We cannot thank them enough and will definitely be back again. Walter & Natalia were fantastic hosts for our stay in Rome. They were very accommodating to our early arrival time and Natalia was extremely helpful in providing us with maps and information on great dining in the area. We brought our two teenage daughters who immediately took over the green room! The accommodations were as wonderful as pictured and the property was clean and well kept. Such a luxury to have a second bathroom. The apartment is in a great area, close to all major sightseeing. Within walking distance to the Colosseum. We loved coming home to this little paradise and the biscuits and coffee they provided were such a welcome treat after long days exploring the sights! Highly recommend staying here. You will be well taken care of! My family enjoyed our stay here. Very good location, easily accessible to all transportation. The double paned glass also kept the noise out so we were not disturbed by the traffic on the street and didn't need to open the windows because we had air conditioning. Our host was extremely kind, generous and hospitable. Walter was always there if we needed him and took the time to answer all of our questions. We had everything we needed and more. A great find at a great price. This was the first time we used Vrbo and we would use it again. We loved staying at this apartment the location is down the street from the colosseum. We walked every where from this apartment the forum is also really close. The bedrooms are very spacious and having two bathrooms was perfect. The neighborhood is very safe and everything restaurants and shopping are all in the neighborhood. We stayed four nights with our two teenagers and had a memorable time we would rent apartment again when we go back. So much to see even just down the street at local church which we wish we didn't leave to last day to visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a wonderful stay at the Colosseo Apt. Natalie and Walter were very kind and helped us with reservations and transportation. Natalia had our first breakfast ready in the apartment so we didn't have to worry about food shopping right away. The apt is welll situated, local restaurants and fresh produce just around the corner. We were looking for a quiet apt and it was really amazing that once you closed the windows you could not hear anything at all. The beds were comfortable and air conditioning worked great. If you want an apt in Rome, look no further.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We are a family of 5 with 3 teenagers and this was a perfect spot. Natalia and Walter are incredibly helpful. They arranged drivers for us coming and going, sat with us upon arrival to go over activities, maps getting around and made a reservation at Borghese Gallery as well. They set up 3 twins in the 2nd bedroom which were very comfortable for our 19, 17 & 13 year olds. I loved being in a neighborhood and shopping right down the street at the grocery and bakery. They provided some staples which were wonderful to have there-made it easy to prepare breakfast and go! The apartment was clean and comfortable and so close to the Colosseum, St. Clemente and San Giovanni Laterano as well as bus and subway stops. I also loved the fresh air and classical music in the morning in the kitchen! The other great thing is that it is very quiet at night with the double windows and the bedrooms are air conditioned. Natalia was also helpful in suggesting places to eat and we had a nice meal at Clementine's down the street. Overall we had a very enjoyable, very comfortable stay and would certainly recommend this apartment and moreover working with Natalia and Walter. They really make all the difference. Plus, I loved feeling a little like a local!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The apartment was excellent for my family of four people. The beds were very comfortable, the apartment was clean and very close to everything, just like it was described. The Owners went above and beyond with their service, were more then helpful during our stay. About the owner: Natalia worked as a flight attendant (cabin crew) for Alitalia Airlines from 1970 to 1995. Prior to her work at Alitalia, she lived for more than a year in London, studying and working in a tourist agency. She speaks excellent English, understands and speaks Spanish and can 'get by' in French. The twenty-five years she spent traveling from one country to another gave her an opportunity to learn about the ways and customs of many countries and enhanced her natural predisposition for interpersonal relationships; she always succeeds in establishing an immediate, friendly relationship with her guests. Since 1995, she has attended the 'Academy of Decorative Arts', discovering a hidden talent for painting and decorating that she never imagined before. She now puts this talent to use personally decorating her apartments. In fact, the tiles in the kitchens and the tabletops in the dining areas of her apartments are all hand painted as well as the tromp l'oeil paintings, which gives each apartment a unique touch. In the last 4 years she has attended courses of the History of Roman Art, which allowed her to get to know the city on a new level. She provides her guests with useful information on Rome and its monuments and archaeological sites.
Why the Owner Chose Colosseo Foro Romano (Coliseum & Roman Forum):
The apartment is located next to the one of most visited historical site in the wolrd: The Colossum. The Colosseum or Flavian Amphitheater was begun by Vespasian, inaugurated by Titus in 80 A.D. and completed by Domitian. Located on marshy land between the Esquiline and Caelian Hills, it was the first permanent amphitheater to be built in Rome. Its monumental size and grandeur as well as its practical and efficient organization for producing spectacles and controlling the large crowds make it one of the great architectural monuments achieved by the ancient Romans. In few minutes walking from the apartment you will be 'catapulted' back 2000 years ago.
