This is a unique private cottage tucked within a gated 15 acre estate in the foothills near Carpinteria. It is surrounded by gorgeous gardens and 20,000 fragrant rose bushes which are part of a working rose farm (one of only two in the USA). The cottage itself was built at the turn of the last century. Full of old world charm, but with modern amenities, the cottage has two queen bedrooms (1 bedroom is also a utility room) and one and a half baths.
The master suite with bedroom and sitting area (including tv and entertainment center) has a large newly remodeled bath attached. Granite counters, large glassed in shower, picture window and claw foot tub for soaking make for a luxurious respite. It features a full kitchen with breakfast nook and adjoining private patio and barbeque area. There is a large great room with dining and living room space. Extra bedroom (Utility Room) has a queen bed, wood burning stove and laundry. There is an additional patio with large lawn area and magnificent views of the rose fields.
The cottage comes stocked with continental breakfast and snack food items, coffees, teas, fresh farm produce, as well as beautiful bouquets of our fragrant European roses. High thread count hand ironed linens (along with housekeeping) provided weekly or as requested. This is a truly romantic venue for people who value serenity and privacy. My boyfriend and I just spent the weekend at Rose Story Farm, it is a magical place! The cottage is decorated beautifully and everything is so thoughtfully provided from the fruit and scones that greeted us, to fresh berries in the fridge! The cottage has a kitchen with dishes, pots, pans, and everything you'd need to take care of yourself. The bathroom was a luxurious experience with nice amenities. I slept so well on the comfortable bed and enjoyed seeing the stars at night. The ambience of the rose farm is so relaxing and enjoyable, from the cats wandering about to the gorgeous roses. The cottage was filled with several beautiful rose arrangements that we enjoyed the entire weekend. Carpenteria, Santa Barbara and Montecito are all nearby so there is plenty to see and do and wonderful places to eat. Everyone was warm and friendly. I highly recommend the Rose Story Farm experience!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

My sister and I recently enjoyed a four night mini reunion at Rose Story Farm. Our stay in Lavender Cottage was perfect. The elegant but comfortable décor, the delightful beds, the breakfast goodies including fresh eggs from the farm’s own chickens, the terrific book selection, and the patio for gazing out over the incredible landscape made for the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday. The Rose Farm setting is so magical that we hardly wanted to leave, even to walk on the nearby beach or explore the charming little beach town of Carpinteria. Dani & Bill, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your "piece of Heaven" in Carpinteria! I picked the perfect place for my 'babymoon'. It will be a lovely memory to share with my daughter someday! Thank you for all of the extra things that were there to make our stay that much more pleasure-filled. The flowers in the bungalow were enjoyed every day and it was amazing to eat farm fresh eggs & fruits. We discovered your little town and Annie was able to enjoy some wine at the new wine bar on Linden. The shops were lovely too but we mostly enjoyed staying in the bungalow! Thank you for lunch on Saturday! We never intended to crash! Bill, it was lovely chatting with you and Dani - good luck with the coaching! My daughter, Elena, and I were fortunate enough to spend nine days in this magical cottage amongst the roses. We had been evacuated from our home due to a fire, and felt we had been gifted with the most soothing and comforting "evacuation vacation." This cottage has a storybook charm about it that is reflected in its every detail. When we arrived the house was airy and bright, filled with the scent and beauty of roses, yet featuring a fully equipped kitchen and laundry and the creature comforts of a great hotel. We felt a little like we were at a spa, and spent our days savoring the quietude, the great tub, the tranquil back deck, and sunset walks through the fields of roses. Everyone was kind and generous, yet we felt we had complete privacy and our own separate peace. I cannot recommend this delightful spot too highly. It is a perfect place for a tranquil retreat or delightful vacation, near the beach, amidst the roses with great shopping and restaurants close at hand.
