In short, we had a wonderful time. We were looking for an uncrowded beach and a very laid back atmosphere away from the hustle and bussle of some beach towns we have been to. We found exactly that. If you are looking for tons of high end restaurants, etc., the island is not for you. However, we loved several of the very informal places where we ate and Skinner's Seafood is another excellent option. At Skinner's you can buy fresh seafood to take back to the condo and cook or they will steam it for you onsite, with veggies. It only takes a few minutes and is great. The condo was the nicest we have ever stayed in, with top quality appointments. It is very roomy and the deck overlooking the beach is huge, with comfortable furniture. I was nursing a leg injury so I spent a lot of time there. One really neat thing about the set up is that you can park your car right at the front door, even though the unit is on the third story. Those of you who have wrestled supplies up and down condo elevators or stairs know what I am talking about. This is SO much easier. I would add that you need to stock up on groceries before you get to the island as the single grocery we found has a limited selection, particularly of fresh fruit, veggies, etc. Already knowing this from the reviews of the island, we brought a bunch of stuff with us. However, it is a scenic and not terribly long drive to grocery stores on the mainland when you need to restock. The complex itself is outstanding, with all shorts of amenities including indoor and outdoor pools, a large hot tub, exercise room, tennis courts, etc. It is easily the nicest complex we have ever stayed in. One thing you need to be aware of is that natural gas rigs are visible off the coast. At first, this bothered me a little until it got dark the first night and they lit up. They were actually very pretty. My wife told me just to imagine they were pirate ships. After that, they just became a part of the scenery. If you like big ships, take binoculars to watch them move in and out of the bay. The residents are extremely friendly to tourists. This was without fail and we have not always gotten that reception in south Florida, at least not to the extent we did at Dauphin. Last, and certainly not least, Susan was a pleasure to deal with. She manages to be professional and quite personable at the same time. She also knows her SEC football, as I discovered in my first phone conversation with her. What more can I say? We will be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just returned from a week staying at this condo and I was tempted to give it a bad review just so it'd be easier to book for next year. I can't recommend it highly enough. It is gorgeous. I'm not sure how much the people who clean it are paid, but whatever it is it's not enough...it looked brand new when we arrived. It is beautifully equipped, parking is right by the door, the staff are courteous and efficient, and it is literally right on the beach. I barely ha top wear shoes the whole week we were there. I suspect this will be an annual destination from now on.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our vacation to Dauphin Island was everything we had hoped; fun, relaxing, and time well-spent with family. Holiday Isle was the perfect location. It is only a mile's walk from town and located right on a sparsely populated beach. The condominium was a home away from home. We had everything we needed. There was plenty of space for our family of five (three sons ages 15 - 22) to either hang out together or spread out when needing our own space. I was impressed the owner called shortly after we arrived to be sure we arrived safely and ask if we had found the condo to our satisfaction. Susan was extremely easy to work with and always available. Our family travels a lot. This was by far one of the best trips we have had. We will definitely be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of 9 (one 2 yr old in PacNPlay) enjoyed this beautiful 3rd floor beachfront condo. We had plenty of room for all of us. You really do park right at the front door. The beach was absolutely beautiful, clean, the surf just right until the last day when the undertow was becoming too swift to safely be too far out in the water (Debbie moving in). I loved the laid back slow pace of the island and being able to bike around without fear of traffic hitting me. Your condo was clean and comfortable and we all enjoyed playing games and talking in the evenings. We also enjoyed the ice cream shop just across the street. We took the ferry over to Gulf Shores area. My husband played the island course one day (not so good) and then played at Rock Creek (excellent) in Fairhope one day while I enjoyed the shops in the little town.Thank you Susan for a wonderful week.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, people with disabilities, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We loved the condo and it's location. Beautifully appointed and well maintained. The three bedrooms were great for two adult couples and several children. The island is quiet, beaches beautiful and people friendly and helpful. The facility is gated and security good. If you want more action you can take the ferry over to Gulf Shores and anything activity from shopping to golf, parasailing, jet skiing etc are available. The owners are very helpful and easy to work with. the Oar House Restaurant is with walking distance and it's back patio delightful...my granddaughter likened it to a tree house. Take out seafood ... Definitely Skinners...we had boiled shrimp , red potatoes and corn....wonderful. we highly recommend this property.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Calm, quiet, beautiful, serene place. A spacious and tasteful unit. Good service and polite people. I especially liked the big guy that was the night security person downstairs. He was very friendly and gave good restaurant advice. This was our first time to Dauphin Island and we are hooked. Reminded me of Gulf Shores when I was a kid in the seventies. We will definitely rent this unit again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
