We have used VRBO as our vacation home expert and have never been disappointed. Hale Kai 'O Kona was no exception. Seven of us, grandparents in their 70's, parents in their 40's and three grand girls, 15 to 20, all enjoyed the home, the location, the nearby activities, and especially the little hidden almost private beach we walked across the lava to find. The pictures were accurate and the description of the property was right on. The property managers were helpful in making arrangements and dealing with issues like the smoke detector battery. We were here the week following the tsunami and were delighted to see no damage to the unit and saddened to damage elsewhere on the island. Next time we are all together on the big island we'll schedule to return to Hale Kai "O Kona.
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, sightseeing.

A group of 6 of us stayed in this lovely townhouse this past November. It was well maintained, very comfortable and exactly as illustrated. The owner was helpful in every way. We really enjoyed the lanai and saw dolphins and whales from it and turtles in the bay next door. I highly recommend this home and know we'll be booking again when we return.
Recommended for:Age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
