Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2007
Kansas City natives Donn and Robin purchased this Paris apartment in 2007, finding a real treasure in a city they love to share and explore with their young son, Owen. Donn and Robin have make their spacious apartment a very stylish hangout for couples and families alike. They hope you'll enjoy their home as much as they do.
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 9
The 9th arrondissement is in the heart of Paris, but also a "real" neighborhood - not one exclusively filled with tourists! The neighborhood is well-served by public transport (bus and metro) you can get everywhere you want to go in minutes. Montmartre (18th arrondissement) is just a five-minute walk away, and the great fresh market shopping on rue Lepic can't be beat! The 9th is diverse and there are discoveries to make in every direction!

The apartment was exactly as we wanted it. Ideally suited to a couple. Comfortable, clean and convenient with all the necessary facilities, but without fuss. It felt 'like home' from the welcome and introduction, to the assistance we had on arrival. The location we were in was a very convenient one for the Metro, for food, entertainment and for walking. The advice on eating and food shopping was a very easy, informative and a quick way to get ‘started’, and we did some exploring for ourselves.

Very private, quiet and tastefully decorated. Well appointed kitchen and a living area that begs to entertain. Layout is great - really does maximize privacy. SO close to metro, groceries, ATM - this apartment made our trip so easy AND was so nice to return to at the end of a long day of eating! I would highly reccomend and definitely stay again - the price can't be beat!

This place is simply marvelous; from the charming decoration, easy access to the metro, to all the included amenities!!! A simple walk from the metro stop Blanche will take you right into the heart of Montmartre- tons of bakeries, cafes, shoppping, artists, and of course the view from the top of the Sacre Coeur. ALSO, a walk up rue Lepic will take you by fresh fish, meats, and other delicious looking items you can pick up and enjoy in your own kitchen!! and since good wine is easy to find here (and inexpensive) get some of that too! Even if you don't like to cook the closest metro line can take you just about anywhere, and coming home after a day of exploring Paris this place is extremely relaxing. Paris je t'aime.

Real Paris, Great Location

My wife and I knew the "tourist's Paris" pretty well, having stayed in several hotels near the Seine. Last June was our first time in an alternative, and it was so much more fun (plus, no maids wanting you to get out of their way!). Paris can be exhausting--you walk and walk, gawking, and find yourself far from your lodging by day's end. It was great to hop on the Metro to our station and feel cozy and refreshed within half an hour of wherever we were. The market downstairs had everything we needed, and we cooked more than we'd expected to because often we didn't want to leave "home" at night. But the owners left good instructions and information on local restaurants, and we got more tips from former renters out of the guest book. This time we explored the Sacre Coeur area and points farther north rather than hanging around the Seine--it made us feel like we were experiencing "real" Paris, and we discovered our own favorite hangouts. We're still talking about it a year later, hoping to return next summer.

This apartment is a great alternative to staying in a hotel. My wife and I enjoyed a week here in late April of 2009. It is roomy and gets lots of light and is thus a good place to hang out. It is conveniently located near several subway stops and has a small supermarket on the street level below it. It is also next door to lively Montmartre where there are loads of fun places to eat and to walk around.

My family (husband, son, and daughter in law) stayed at this apartment in 2008 and this year I came again with girlfriends. Both times it felt like home. The living room is bright and cheerful as the pictures suggest and the bed and sofabed are very comfortable. Sitting at the table in the living room, looking out the window and watching families walking to school while I ate my croissant and drank my coffee was such a treat each morning. Paula, manager of the apartment, was such a great help. She meets you at the apartment, introduces you to all things necessary, has a great map showing metro and bus stops, restaurants, etc. There is a great grocery right next door that has anything you would need and a department store up the street supplying many other essentials. Everything in the apartment is up-to-date and charming. We travel with a laptop and enjoyed having the wireless connection for e-mail and various searches. It was always comforting to know the apartment was waiting for us at the end of the day to revive us for the next busy day of exploring Paris. When I travel to Paris again, this will be my home away from home.

I've stayed in Paris many times, and have never been more comfortable. It was great to have this bright, peaceful haven to come home to; it was actually hard to leave it in the daytime! I will never stay in a hotel again. Both the bed and the sofabed were extremely comfortable, and the shops within a block supplied all my needs for groceries, croissants, etc. It was a wonderful value, too, compared with other properties I considered.
