New (Fall 2006), two bedroom, mountain cabin near Young Harris and Hiawassee, Georgia. Great room/kitchen with 15-foot cathedral ceiling, master bedroom, guest bedroom, and laundry all on one floor. Long-range views of Brasstown Bald (highest point in Georgia) from all rooms and balcony. Beautiful natural wood floor and trim, stone fireplace.

Cabin is at end of paved road, adjacent to large woods with hiking trails. Five minutes to Brasstown Resort/Golf Course, 10 minutes to Lake Chatuge Marina, 25 minutes to Murphy, North Carolina.

  • Nothing bad could have been said about our long weekend experience at this impeccably clean, new, tastefully decorated, ultra convenient cabin! The bedrooms were spacious, well appointed, gorgeous fireplace and views in the great room, open kitchen/eating area was also extremely spacious with latest appliances since the cabin's only 3 yrs old, nice wide deck to soak in the mountain vista, and berry patch below where we found blackberries! OK, the only turn-off was the barking dogs of the next-door neighbors as you come up the driveway for the first time. But, by the 2nd day, they were familiar with us and didn't bark again. Nearby winery, horseback riding, Lake Chatuge, Ingles market, Ga Mountain Fairgrounds festival, Brasstown Resorts, etc. were all less than 5 or 10 min. distance even though the view from the cabin's deck made you feel far from any civilization. Also nearby is Young Harris College and Arts School for jewelry making and rock cutting, etc. Very neat place impeccably run by the nice owners. Definitely two thumbs up and more!!! My favorite spot was the deck morning, noon & night. The view of Brasstown Bald ws spectacular. The bed was so comfortable that we plan on getting one for our home.
