This was a great time! After doing a bit of sight-seeing around the island, we were thrilled we had chosen this area in which to stay! It was wonderful being able to lol about on the beach and just walk over to Iggie's and have a drink, or a meal, right there ocean-front! The condo had everything we needed and it was so peaceful to go to sleep lulled by the waves crashing, right outside our door! The pool is ocean side and perfectly located. The iguana's and kitties about the property were a bonus for us - we loved seeing them! Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Perfect Vacation

We attended a wedding at Bolongo Bay in February, doing some research we found Watergate villas, the Condo was as advertised even down to the complimentary sun screen. The owners were very easy to work with, their condo was our condo for a week and my 2 year old did not want to leave he thought this was his home. Sitting on the balcony falling asleep listening to the waves (just feet away) and waking up to a sunrise is a once is a lifetime experience. Everybody in the complex was friendly; we met many people at the pool or just walking around. We also got a great contact for a jeweler down town from one of the residences in the building and bought some watches. Iggies is a must, staff is great, although it is the islands so nobody is breaking any speed record taking orders, except for drinks those are fast and plentiful. Snorkeling right outside our Condo produced many colorful fish and yes TURTLES, we saw 4 during one snorkel. If you are planning a visit to St Thomas and want a great location on the beach, falling asleep to the ocean surf every night then I recommend this location, you will not be disappointed. One last comment, just as everybody says, apply BUG SPRAY, this is no joke, even the restaurants has plenty of spray but make sure you put it on and keep applying.

We had a wonderful vacation. The view from our condo was magnificent, just like the pictures, but better. We had easy access to the pool and beach. The condo had everything you could want and so many extras(shampoo, conditioner, soap,sunscreen, bug spray, you name it). The resort was clean and safe. Two nice places to eat in walking distance. We rented a car and took the ferry to St. John well worth the trip...beautiful. We snorkeled right at our beach. The owners were wonderful and very helpful and accessible every step of the way. I would highly recommend this condo.

MOST RELAXING AND BEAUTIFUL PLACE

WOW! We have been coming to St. Thomas for 3 years....5 visits for 50+ days. We have stayed in six different places. This was hands down the best. Three great restaurants, two pools, dive operation (5 Star), excursions, activities, and close to Red Hook and Charlotte Amalie. You can be to St. John in 20 minutes (Ferry) and BVI in 45 minutes (Ferry). Just great!!! The condo: Incredible view, comfortable, and well appointed. The kitchen has plenty of pans, pots, dishes, and cooking instruments (and I like to cook). Appliances you would have at home and all in great condition (this is a rarity on the island where appliances are very expensive). The furniture is comfortable, wireless internet, phone, DVD, TV, and lots of games (as well as pool toys). We took our toddler daughter and we all relaxed, slept well, and had a fun vacation!!! The owners are super easy to work with and communicate quickly. We had a few small issues (expected with a 10-12 day vacation) and they resolved them immediately (even though they were 1000's of miles away). Just incredible!!!! They are also well known and respected at the Dive Shop, gift shop at Bolongo, and several long time employees of the restaurants. We loved this condo, this location, and the owners. We plan on making their condo our primary vacation spot in the future! Hope you will give them a try.....you will be pleasantly surprised! MAIN GOAL WHILE ON ISLAND: RELAX!!!!!

Starting with a vague search for some time (Feb 5 to15/2011) on St. Thomas to the end of our 10 day stay was nothing short of outstanding.The inital contact with the owners was easy and informal, no shortcuts in helping out. Once we got to the Island it did not take long to settle in. The location of the condo was ideal. Easy to drive anywhere in 10 minutes. The unit being on the water is a gem. A two year old could thow a rock into the Ocean from the deck. New developments do not have this elusive feature for a majority of travellers. One very important necessity for us is safety and comfort with the residents when visiting. We found the people of St Thomas to be very friendly, cheerful and patient. It was a challlenge to relax and ease up to their pace. There was always evidence of a police presence and never any concern about safety issues and we travelled about plenty. Magens Beach, deep sea fishing, all corners of the Island and more. Prices were fine, as expected for vacation destinations and also many good restaurants. We would certainly recommend St Thomas and this condo to anyone lucky enough to acquire a "get off the world" time card. The location, the people, the onwers and the accommodations all make this a very favourable destination!

The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

From reading the previously posted reviews, I was really excited and had high expectations about renting this place. But, when we got there, we were a bit disappointed. In short, you get what you pay for. First the good: 1. The owners were very easy to talk to and accommodating; 2. Bolongo Bay had a lot of privacy; 3. There were two restaurants on site, with one (Iggie's) having something going on each night 4. The Watergate Villas' location with respect to Charlotte Amalie and Red Hook was right in the middle. Then the bad:: 1. The salty air caused a lot of damage to the condo, mainly: (a) The kitchen cabinet hinges were loose, and the cabinet door could potentially fall on someone; (b) The fridge was rusty; (c) The furniture looked old, well used, and had stains in them 2. One of the bathtubs was clogged (although maintenance got to it the next day); 3. The water pressure was very low; And finally, the ugly: 1. The place was not well cleaned before our arrival. I had to clean one of the toilets myself since it was filthy; 2. The sheets were dirty, and had a musty smell to them, and had to be washed before use. Would I recommend this to a friend? No.

Owner response:We were so sorry the renters didn't contact us immediately as we would have had everything taken care of and also given them a discount! Due to medical issues we had not been down in 6 months and that is clearly too long without a personal visual! We have taken care of all the issues cited and hired a new cleaning service - we really strive to keep the place in tip top condition. This winter we have plans to be there every 2 months so that we can provide a personal assurance that if you rent from us you are getting a great location and an extremely well cared for, tip top condo for your special vacation!

This condo was wonderful. Our first time here in St Thomas-with our 4 year old son. We had such a great time. Mim's was everything it was supposed to be & more. Our favorite part of the trip was nokeling off the Heavenly Days! Our son loved the beach and was getting quite adventerous by the end of our stay. You got it all right when they say LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! Thank you for sharing your island home with us!...burr 52" of snow this year !

This was my first time in St Thomas, my parents have been here often. The property couldn't have been more perfect. It was plenty of space for 4 adults and 1 child. We cooked all of our breakfasts and ate on the veranda. A perfect way to start the day! It was peaceful and safe there too. The locals were helpful and restaurants just steps away. I wanted to relax on my vacation and that is what I did. Everything we needed was provided in the condo, beach toys and floats, sunscreen (I had an allergic reaction to the one I brought), towels. The cleaning service did a great job, the place was exactly like the pictures showed. I do recommend the Heavenly Days, which we snorkeled with turtles. Karen made the rental of the property the easiest part of our booking. She was helpful and answered any and all questions I had until we left for her little slice of paradise. We hope to return again soon. I've sent the link to plenty of friends so they could see what a great place we stayed out for such a reasonable price. I'm glad I have an understanding of "Island Time"...I sure do miss it!

Six of us stayed in this condo from Feb 25-March 6/10 (one slept on an airmatress) and we were still comfortable. The place was very clean and well kept and the location was great as it was between to very well known bars and restaurants. Iggy's was a blast during the Canada & USA hockey games (we won!!)Because there was six of us it was cheaper to rent a car and travel the island and we took the car ferry over to St. John for a day. All in all we had a terrific holiday and the weather was in the 90's all ten days. The beach here is nice but has a lot of seaweed and rocks but there is parts to swim in. The pool is right beside the ocean so it was great.The owner's pictures are definitely on the mark. The people here are lovely and very friendly we made a lot of new friends. I could go on and on but come see for yourself it is an amazing place.

Beautiful Bolongo Bay

We spent 10 days Feb25-Mar6 2010 . Perfect weather, the condo was perfectly located and the view was wonderful anytime of day or night. Iggys was fantastic and the food at Mim's super. Everything we needed was at the condo. The trip to St. John was beautiful and all of the beaches we visited on St. Thomas were great, very clean and the beauty of the sand and turquoise water was stunning. We saw a stingray just off the beach at Mim's and turtles were feeding on the seaweed by the Bolongo dock. The lovely lady at the gift shop at Bolongo Resort was very helpful with info. on anything we asked for. we rented a Jeep to explore the island and my daughter had a great time driving. Four of our group of six went to Coral World and did the Sea Trek underwater adventure and they loved it, saw so many different colors of fish and coral. We then went to Coki Beach right next door and spent a few hours soaking up the sun. There were so many fish right there as well, the snorkeling was great.The property was very well maintained and our instructions from the owner were perfect no problems with anything. We especially loved the pool and the girls could usually find me parked under the 3rd palm tree to the left, reading and basking in the sun!!! We would definitely love to come back again for another visit. We would recommend it to anyone who ask where to stay in St. Thomas. It was so easy to find and close enough to everything to be convenient and far enough away not to be noisy and over run with tourists.

What a wonderful condo and beautiful location. Quiet beach, lovely pool and access to three great restaraunts all in walking distance (one is poolside!) The condo is clean, well cared for and has everything you need for a great week at the beach. Highly recommended!

Bolongo Bay is close to shopping, sightseeing, and dining. This condo has an excellent location - located on the second floor of a three story unit, so you are high enough for your view from the balcony is all ocean view, with the colors and sounds of the ocean. Unit is clean and neat, with high quality flat screen tv and cable. The kitchen and dining area are a major plus. To help with the high cost of dining out, prepared breakfasts and a couple of dinners at the condo. Great selection of flatware, dishes and pans. A beautiful and serene vacation spot in St. Thomas.

I was on the island with my wife and kids for one week and got a good picture of St Thomas. This condo was the perfect place for us. Not talking about the weather (+35c and sun) for us as we are from north. Now we are back in -10c and can't believe were like in paradise few days ago. We enjoyed every moment in condo - the sea view, Bolongo beach rentals, gift shop and 3 places to eat or meet people. Our son was constantly at the sea or pool, but under surveillance all the time. We cooked by ourselves mostly and had the best views to the beach and sea at our breakfast and dinner on the balcony. We had a great party at the Iggies on the Bolongo beach last night before leaving and enjoyed the show with man jumping on broken glass in fire. I have always said the world is so big there is no reason to visit the same place twice but this is the place I would return.

We rented this property in January 2008 to attend a wedding. As a former resident of St. Thomas, I knew the beach and location well, having spent many afternoons at Bolongo and Watergate. The condo was just what we needed: walking distance (along the beach) to three restaurants/bars, and overlooking the pool and beach. Beautiful views all around. The condo itself was great. Plenty of room, well stocked kitchen, and outdoor seating for snacks and drinks at sunset. The owners were also wonderful to work with--and there is an on-site property manager who checked in to make sure all was well. The keyless entry made it even easier, and they have a portable crib and beach toys that kept our toddler quite entertained. I recommend this location for anyone looking for a relaxing and fun beach rental.

What a wonderful location. Right on the beach and pool. Had a great time on the day sail to St John and the kids went diving several times. The condo was very comfortable and had everything we needed. We plan to go back again next year.
