This property has the best views and sunsets along Lake Champlain's 'Gold Coast'. It has a pretty, not-typical sandy beach. Vermont's premier resort, Basin Harbor Club, is in the next bay (0.2 land miles), offering casual dining, golf, tennis, and other amenities, closeby for a fee. Grocery store nearby; supermarket in Vergennes.
On their grounds is the Maritime Museum, presenting important underwater nautical artifacts from the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812, where Lake Champlain figured prominently in the early history of the United States. Lake Champlain is 120 miles long; our view (southern) is of Westport, New York, 7 miles away, with Mount Placid and the Adirondack mountains in the background. There is plenty to do for the active, sports-minded; and it is an ideal spot for quiet relaxation and serenity. Fully equipped kitchen with wonderful lakeviews. Fall Foliage season is a beautiful time at New England's best kept secret!
Amenities include all linens, towels, washer, dryer, Dish-TV, WiFi, DVD, video library, stereo, CDs. books, games, large deck, canoe, and fireplace. '...amazing region...extraordinary sunsets...enchanting scenery' Mark Twain.

Once again, we had an amazing week on Lake Champlain. While the perfect weather certainly helped, the house once again met and exceeded our expectations. The views are beautiful, the house is wonderfully clean and updated, and all is completely turnkey. We absolutely love everything about this home - we wouldn't change a thing! While there is a lot to do nearby, the gorgeous weather kept us close to home, and between fishing, boating, reading and relaxing, everyone in the family was happy.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had an exceptional week on Lake Champlain at 509 Mile Point Road. The house is perfectly situated on the lake to take-in beautfiul sunsets and enjoy all measure of water sports. Mile Point is a small community with welcoming neighbors, many of whom are multi-generational families enjoying the summer together. The house is well-maintained and comfortable - befitting a Vermont summer lake home. Plenty of room for three generations. Many things to do - Basin Harbor Club, hiking Snake Mountain near Middlebury, blueberry picking in Charlotte - to keep you busy for the week. Trip to Shelburne Farms was a highlight. Good dining options in Vergennes (Black Sheep Bistro) and on a little further away on Route 7 (Starry Night Cafe). This is the third or fourth VRBO home we have rented and it was excellent - relatively and absolutely. Thank youRecommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

I have rented a number of times from VRBO, and this is my favorite. The location is not only physically beautiful, but the area is friendly, safe, and feels like home. The house is spacious, appointed with everything you could need, soap, tons of towels, a great kitchen, coffee filters and on and on. (and even better now, I left the stuff I took, not expecting there to be those things) There are lots of toys, a great back deck, great beds, and comfortable space for 10 adults. Also, it was spotlessly clean. I will happily stay here again. Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The first thing you notice when you enter this home is that it is sparklingly clean. You go on to realize that it is fully stocked with new towels, kitchen gadgets - everything you need. There is an overhead fan in each room - beds are very comfortable and bathrooms seem to be brand new. Nothing disappointed! The location is terrific, and the views of the sunset are magical. I would highly recommend this rental - just not for the week that we hope to go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We have been renting this beautiful cottage on the shore of Lake Champlain for many years and can't say enough about it. The cottage has been beautifully renovated and decorated, the lawn is large and flat, the proximity to Basin Harbor club is ideal for those looking for an afternoon cremee, and the view of the evening sunsets can't be surpassed! We look forward to returning year after year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was our second year staying at this property and we, again, thoroughly enjoyed our time. The house was spotless when we arrived and well-appointed. We were able to start our vacation right away. We brought our young children and our elderly grandmother and the location was perfect for all of us. We never had to worry. The lake was spectacular, perfect for swimming and boating. The neighbors were also a pleasure. We will be returning next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

I just wanted to thank you so much for renting your wonderful house to us. We had an extremely restful vacation and enjoyed the spectacular beauty of the setting. A blast was had by all, from our babies right on up to my 95 year old grandmother. It was so wonderful, we hope to be able to rent it again next year!Did you find this review helpful?
