  My husband and two kids stayed at the Windandsea for a week in March 2013. What a lovely experience! The house is roomy, clean and had all the comforts of home. Joe and Kim - the Owners - did all they could to welcome us, be helpful and not hover around. They are easy going and kind and I would highly recommend this house to famlies. They even loaded us mustard for our hot dogs. We will be back again and I encourage you to check this place out. Catherine from Chicago

  This was our first annual trip to San Diego with our 3 and 4 year old nephews. They had the time of their lives. The toys here kept them busy for days. We thank you again for a wonderful stay at WindanSea Beach House!

  We had a terrific week...lots to do in an Diego. We couldn't get it all in so fortunately we will be back sometime in the not so distant future. We enjoyed the cozy beach house and the short walk to one of the coolest beaches. Our son loved to run in and out of the surf as it crashed against the rocks. Every day he wanted to run in the puddles. Your house was set up perfect for our family well stocked kitchen so we could do a lot of cooking and grilling right here. Thank you for sharing your Beach House with us.

  Thank you for the beach house for a wonderful two week stay. We had lots of fun exploring San Diego and the home was great. It was great to have so much space inside and out and we enjoyed both sets of our backyard neighbors!

  Perfect house for our family of 4! Simple, beachy, had everything we could possibly need from everyday necessities to beach gear, games, books, baby needs and parking. The location was the best part - you can't miss the stunning sunsets on Windansea Beach! A glass of wine (a treat for the girls;) and a 2min walk was all we needed to finish off our perfect days. Hint: the kids appreciated LaJolla Shores for boogie boarding and sand castles. Legoland, SD Zoo, Sea World, the aquarium, restaurants - all within 20-30min. Also of note - grocery store, 7-11, cafes and bakeries all within walking distance - you don't need to pack anything. Thanks Joe and Kim for bringing me back to my childhood memories of classic beach vacations! We appreciated your hospitality and availability. We will be back:)

  Joe and Kim were great hosts. I'm a San Diego native and come back every year to visit my family. Our family almost never stays in hotels in SD thanks to vrbo, and Joe and Kim are the type of owners that make a vrbo great. Theyre responsive and personable, taking great pride in their property. This place is great. Everything a family needs; parking, a great kitchen and laundry. We had a big party on our last night for friends and family, it was like we were at home. Did I mention that La Jolla is my favorite place in SD and Windansea is a truly hidden jewel. Away from the crazy crowds.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

  As advertised, this property is perfect!! The owners were extremely helpful with feedback and advice prior to our arrival. Upon our arrival we were met at the house and showed around. The owners of this property made it clear that they were available at any time to help, and they meant it. This made traveling from the east coast a breeze. The house has everything in one's imagination that could be needed for a beach vacation and a home away from home. We were especially thankful for the thought put into our two young children's enjoyment such as beach toys, dvd's in the house, books, games etc. As parents of two young children we were really impressed to see such things as a baby gate, a high chair, "child friendly" bathtub, and other household amenities that are difficult to bring with. The location of the property is perfect, a short walk to the beach, which again, was much appreciated with two young children. Any of San Diego's sights were easily accessed. The neighborhood was safe and quiet. We can't say enough about how enjoyable our stay was and can't wait to come back!!

  Joe and Kim, Thanks for the hospitality and the use of the beach house. It really felt like home and was a great location for us. The beach views were beautiful and will stay with us for a long time. The grandkids loved the “beach” at the house and they got to see the sights. We would definitely consider coming back to the beach house.

  Joe and Kim, Thank you so much for the wonderful stay at y'alls beach house. We've enjoyed our stay greatly. Our little one Gavin enjoyed the sand box and the multiple children's books. He had one or three read to him nightly. A perfect first trip to the beach for him. We loved the location of this home too! We walked down to the beach practically everyday, and enjoyed the shopping and restaurants in the area. We will miss everything about this house and will look forward to staying here again!

  Joe and Kim- Thank you for opening your house to us. We enjoyed the closeness to the beach. We had so much fun walking in the sad and climbing the rocks. We enjoyed all of your suggestions. It's great to explore individually owned restaurants and not go to the big chains. The weather was perfect. We had a great time going to Birch, San Diego Zoo and Coronado Island. But none of that compares to the fun we has 100 steps from the beach. Enjoyed the sunset every night.

  Joe an Kim, Thanks so much for helping us celebrate Heather's graduation. Staying in your beach house made everything so much easier for all of us to share her special day. We appreciated being able to spend extra time with our family in such a homey place. We couldn't have had such a great time staying in a hotel. We sure appreciated the use of supplies and equipment you supplied. The accommodations are superb, Joe's recommendations really helped find some neat places.

  Joe, Kim and Noah, Thanks so much for such a warm welcome when we arrived! We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here and cant believe that it is already time to pack up! This was just like borrowing your home for a week – everything we needed was here... kitchen items, beach towels, beach chairs, etc... This was an awesome loaction for us to watch sunsets, parasail, take a whale watching trip, the zoo, etc... WindanSea Beach House has been great for our family of 5 – lots of different areas to spread out and enjoy. We will always remember our vacation with great memories.

  We had a wonderful stay at the beach house of Joe and Kim and enjoyed very much the house itself, the balcony and the patio as well as the very close distance to the Pacific (Windansea) beach. We often carried our beach chairs to the beautiful sandy beach and enjoyed the day as well as the sunset. Joe and Kim were wonderful hosts, who gave us a lot of hints about life style in La Jolla.

  My family and I just returned from spending a week at the Windansea Beach House. We had a marvelous time. Our children 8.6 and 4 loved the 45 second walk to the beach where they played in the waves. learned how to Boogie Board, build sand castles. The house is easy access to other points of interest in San Diego. The house was clean, well maintained and felt private and comfortable. The owners Joe and Kim really have put a lot of thought into the games, beach toys, travel information, kitchen supplies and guest experience in general. We hope to go back!
